It’s a new day, new week, new month, but the same ol’ fast and furious, action packed sports talk that you’ve come to know and love as the latest podcast is forthcoming. On deck:

(4:04) With July ushered in, it’s time to check in on MLB teams that can be relevant throughout the summer as they make a play for October baseball. I’ll unpack the AL & NL wild card races for the first time. How will the Twins, Royals, Red Sox, Astros and Rays fare throughout the final three months of the regular season? Same for the Padres, Cardinals, Mets, Diamondbacks Giants and Pirates? I’ll preview some upcoming series leading into the 4th of July holiday and yes, I’ll briefly mention Bobby Bonilla Day as baseball fans can laugh at the Mets and serenade today’s BB Day!

(31:55) NBA free agency has arrived. There aren’t many big profile guys on the list, minus Klay Thompson and DeMar DeRozan. Paul George was arguably the number one guy leading the pack, but he signed with the Philadelphia 76ers to a four year deal. Why the cons outweigh the pros when it comes to the former Clipper? I’ll address what else could transpire during this opening week of business in the Association and a couple of new coaches (JB Bickerstaff in Detroit and Kenny Atkinson in Cleveland), LeBron James opting out of his contract looking for an extension AND the Lakers drafted his son, Bronny. Are we looking at a three ring circus in LA leading up to training camp in late September?

(48:53) The NHL had their draft over the weekend, but there was plenty of wheeling and dealing throughout the rest of the league as the Tampa Bay Lightning made some shrewd moves (sending Mihkail Sergachev to UTAH, Tanner Jeannot to LA, acquiring scorer Jake Guentzel & signing him to a long term deal. There’s been a couple of other signings (Sam Reinhart stays in FLA, Patrick Kane with DET) And what about my beloved Islanders? What are they going to do to as they attempt to keep up with the Joneses in the East?

(56:27) Wimbledon commences at the All England Club today. I’ll preview the men’s side with Novak Djokovic’s swift return from knee surgery. How will he respond? And can Iga Swiatek capture her first title at Wimbledon as the #1 women’s player in the world?

(1:02:45) UFC 303’s main event had Alex Pereira KO Jiri Prochazka with a head kick in the second round of their light heavyweight bout on Saturday night.

NBA & Stanley Cup Finals Preview BONANZA! Lakers Lure UCONN Coach? Dodgers-Yankees Showdown In The Bronx. Novak Withdraws From French/Swiatek Dominant. RIP Larry Allen. Belmont 'NO' Stakes

I’m honored to welcome in a new partnership to the podcast. Are you familiar with Olipop soda?  Please go to www.drinkolipop.com, type in SODALOVE for 15% off of your purchase.

With the Finals on the horizon for both the NBA & NHL, I’m just getting started to discuss that and ALL that’s happening in sports in a jam packed podcast. On deck:

(4:15) The NBA Finals commences tonight. Boston is looking for Banner 18, after coming up short two years ago. While Dallas and their two headed monster of a backcourt (Luka Doncic & Kyrie Irving) are chomping at the bit to bring a title back to Dallas. I’ll have a complete breakdown and predict who’ll hoist the Lawrence O’Brien Trophy when it’s all said and done. Some breaking news coming out of LA has the Lakers making a massive push to lure UConn coach Danny Hurley to Hollywood. Could he possibly take the leap from college to the pros?

(30:54) On Saturday night, hockey will have the sports stage as the Stanley Cup Finals will drop the puck in Game 1 between the Edmonton Oilers-Florida Panthers. I’ll tap in with analysis on what the Panthers will do to slow down Connor McDavid & co. And what will the Oilers deploy to attack the defensive schemes of the Panthers? Could this be a long series? Short series?

(41:27) MLB has had an interesting week with some solid matchups that have been anything but (MIL-PHI, KC-CLE) but I and a bunch of baseball/sports fans are looking forward to the heavyweight matchup in the Bronx this weekend between the LA Dodgers-NY Yankees. I’ll go through the history of this rivalry dating back to the days where the Dodgers played in Brooklyn. There’s also a London Series taking place on Saturday & Sunday as the NY Mets-Philadelphia will face off against one another.

(55:47) Novak Djokovic had to withdraw from the French Open due to a knee injury. Is it set for Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz to secure their first ever French title? On the women’s side, Iga Swiatek is seeking her third straight and four out of five after disposing of Coco Gauff in the semifinals in straight sets.

(1:00:13) Some sad news in the world of the NFL as all time great, Hall of Fame guard Larry Allen passed away on Monday at the age of 52. Christian McCaffrey gets a two year extension through 2027. What about CeeDee Lamb? He’s searching a big payday, but stayed away from OTA’s this week. Will they meet eye to eye before kickoff in September?

(1:06:22) The Belmont Stakes will conclude the horse racing season this Saturday as Derby winner Mystik Dan and Preakness champ Seize the Gray will go up against favorite Sierra Leone up in Saratoga, NY and not Belmont Park.

Oilers Gush To Cup Finals! Kyrie/Luka, KP Lead NBA Finals Headlines. Judge/Yankees On Tear, But The Reality Is? A Record Non QB NFL Contract! Novak Wins In Wee Hours. WHAT? The End For Dustin Poirier?

I’m honored to welcome in a new partnership to the podcast. Are you familiar with Olipop soda? If not, you’ll definitely want to acquaint yourself with this healthy, crisp and refreshing beverage that has no GMO’s, organic with natural ingredients that you can read. They have the classics (Vintage Cola, Root Beer, Ginger Ale, Lemon Lime) as well as new flavors that are irresistible (Banana Cream, Watermelon Lime and my favorite, Tropical Punch) Please go to www.drinkolipop.com, type in SODALOVE for 15% off of your purchase.

June is in full bloom and so is the latest podcast as the sports world has the following to offer:

(4:12) Big picture on Stanley Cup Finals run for Edmonton & Florida with storylines (Oilers Connor McDavid’s first Cup. Panthers appear in back to back), with many more leading into Game 1.

(26:26) Same look for NBA Finals matchup between Dallas & Boston as Kyrie Irving’s return to Boston, Luka’s first Finals dance, Kristaps Porzingis’s health and revenge lead a few of the top headlines heading into Game 1 on Thursday night.

(46:34) The New York Yankees are on a roll. Aaron Judge has been crushing it, as well as, Juan Soto. Giancarlo Stanton has performed better this year than last. Ace Gerrit Cole will throw a rehab game tomorrow as he tries to get back in the rotation. But the reality is? How will the Yankees handle Soto’s contract demands and negotiations? What’s in the minor leagues? Also, remember who your manager is! Also, some key injuries in the sport. Darryl Strawberry’s number retirement and a look at the schedule over the early part of the week

(1:04:38) A record setting contract to a non-QB took place earlier this morning as Justin Jefferson re-ups with the Vikings for $110M guaranteed.

(1:07:21) Novak Djokovic wins late in the wee hours on Sunday (3:07am to be exact) Why is this acceptable? Can this be changed? Rearranging the start times to avoid such late conclusions of these matches?

(1:10:52) UFC’s Dustin Poirier falls short of earning the lightweight belt as he loses to Islam Makhachov Saturday night. Is this the beginning of the end for the legendary fighter?

Remembering 9/11. Cowboys/49ers Dominant. Lions/Dolphins Heroic. Bengals/Steelers/Giants Awful Cap NFL Week 1. Is Alabama Done? Mike Trout On Trade Block? Coco, Novak Open Champs. Shocking MMA Upset

On a day that this country will never forget, I'll do my best to get us through a busy past few days in the sports world as I share with you the latest podcast. On deck:

(2:50) I'll reflect on a day that us as a nation we'll sadly always remember. My experience of the attack on lower Manhattan as I was just a few blocks from both planes that struck the World Trade Center and how that day impacted me and the rest of us as I revisit that horrific incident 22 years ago today.

(9:36) As I transition to the toy department of life, Week 1 of the NFL arrived with plenty to unpack, especially when it comes to my winners (i.e. Detroit, Miami and Green Bay) and losers (i.e. Cincinnati, Pittsburgh and NY Giants) I'll get into the Cowboys dismantling of the Giants in their building. Same for the Niners putting it on the Steelers. What about QB Brock Purdy? He continues his winning ways, but I have a thought on something that we haven't seen yet from Mr. Irrelevant when thrust in a big pressure spot that hasn't been discussed. I'll recap all of that transpired yesterday and Thursday night, with a look ahead to tonight's Monday night matchup between the Bills-Jets.

(36:11) Are the Alabama Crimson Tide already out of the college football playoff discussion? A surprising loss at home against the Texas Longhorns has them behind the eight-ball just two weeks into this season on whether or not they'll end up as one of the final four to play for a national championship. Also, the big story in the sport is what's happening in Boulder, CO as the Buffaloes have gotten off to a 2-0 start behind coach Deion Sanders. They have a trap game against their in-state rival Colorado St. this week, with games against Oregon and USC after that. Is a possible letdown in order?

(43:25) We're down to the final three weeks in the baseball season. A developing story coming out of Anaheim has the front office approaching Mike Trout to discuss a possible trade for the future Hall of Famer. Where will he go? How much will the Angels pay the whopping $245 million that's owed to him? And what will they get in return? Don't look now, but the Houston Astros are in first place in the AL West. Why it's important for them to win the division this year? I'll cover the rest of the baseball landscape, especially the AL East race, as well as, the NL Wild Card race as we down to the final 20-ish games of the year.

(56:10) Coco Gauff finally wins her first ever Grand Slam title as she's the US Open Champ on the women's side. While it's the same old song on the men's side as Novak Djokovic secures his 24th Slam championship, defeating Daniil Medvedev in straight sets, stamping his approval of who the GOAT is in tennis all time.

(1:00:44) A shocking upset in MMA happened Saturday night as middleweight Israel Adesanya was unable to beat fill-in and handpicked opponent Sean Strickland, losing by decision. Is a rematch forthcoming where Adesanya can exact some revenge?

Alcaraz's Legend Launches With Win At Wimbledon. Ohtani On The Trading Block?/Orioles Threat In AL East. Tyreek Hill 2K Yards? Saquon's 4pm Deadline? Oops! I Almost Forgot. Messi-Mania In Miami!

Another week arrives as I deliver more heat to your speakers, earbuds or headphones when it comes to fast paced, action packed sports talk as the latest podcast is here! On deck:

(3:08) The future, maybe even the present of tennis has arrived! 20 year old, Carlos Alcaraz defeats arguably the greatest men's player in the history of the sport, Novak Djokovic to win his first ever Wimbledon tournament. Is he not just the next big thing? Is he now? On the women's side, Marketa Vondrousova shocked the world as an unseeded player to win the whole thing, beating Ons Jabeur, who cannot get over the hump as she lost another opportunity to win a Grand Slam major.

(17:00) Baseball makes its return from the All-Star Break as series resumed this past weekend. With the Los Angeles Angels slowly but surely slipping away from the American League wild card race, is it quite possible that Shohei Ohtani will be on the move before the trade deadline August 1st? I'll take a look at what went on in the MLB, including the red hot Orioles who not only pose a threat in the division, but possibly the entire league with their current eight game winning streak? Can they procure some big time starting pitching to take them to greater heights? The quest for batting .400 if your Marlins Luis Arraez. I'll also peek ahead at a couple of good series with the Dodgers-Orioles being the highlight of the early part of the week. And the 2024 schedule has been released, which is the earliest that I can ever recall.

(36:18) We're a week away from NFL training camps opening up throughout the country. I can't say I'll be fully invested or excited (not to worry, I'll explain why) What I can say is that Tyreek Hill has some lofty goals for the upcoming season. He's shooting for a 2,000 yard season receiving. Is it achievable? Yes. But it'll be with an asterisk if he does it. (Again, I'll explain why) The Jets re-sign DT, Quinnen Williams as expectations for him and the team will be astronomical. The Giants have a big decision to make (and only have a few hours of me typing this) to get a deal done for RB Saquon Barkley by 4pm today. Will they sign the former #2 pick overall?

(44:02) The NBA summer league concludes today with little to no fanfare, but on the ice, the Arizona Coyotes were in the news the past couple of days. They did the right thing by releasing a player they just signed to a one year deal (i.e. Alex Galchenyuk) as he was arrested in Scottsdale, AZ due to disorderly conduct and threatening a training officer after hitting a curb and sign while alleged being impaired. A disturbing and shocking story from a league that rarely produces incidents like this.

(47:58) As I was about to do some housekeeping to close out another podcast, I remembered to make a mention of Lionel Messi as he was introduced to South Florida and America when he'll embark on a career in the MLS with Inter Miami this coming weekend. I'll delve into this more on Thursday's podcast, so please come on back for more on his impact to Miami, the MLS and the American sports landscape.

Can The Heat/Panthers Delay Titles For Nuggets/Golden Knights? Mets Cohen Not Blowing Up Team. Rays: Built For Regular Season Only? Is Novak The GOAT? Belmont Blunder With Horses. UFC Nunes Retires

We're a week and change away from summer officially starting. If it's not warm in your neck of the woods, I'll ratchet up the intensity when it comes to heating up the airwaves as another fast paced podcast is forthcoming. On deck:

(2:53) With the fall & winter sports ready to crown a champion in the coming days, are we ready to enter the second phase of the Sports Dead Zone?

(4:10) The Nuggets are on the precipice of their first ever NBA championship as they won the two road games in Miami rather comfortably. Can the Heat thwart Denver's chance to clinch on their home court?

(14:20) Same could be said for the Vegas Golden Knights as they lost a tough Game 3 in the final minutes and overtime, but hung on for dear life at the end of Game 4 as they're on the brink of a Cup title. Will the Panthers rally the troops and take from their experience in the first round, where they were down 3-1 to the top seeded Bruins and pulled that series out in seven games? Or is it just Vegas's time to shine as they seek their first Cup win in franchise history?

(22:56) Sadly, the Mets are front and center when it comes to what's going on in baseball. They've lost eight of their last nine games, including a brutal third game in Atlanta. Owner Steve Cohen had a state of the union on his ballclub to say that he's not going to be reactionary and blow up the team. Is he right on this? I'll get into why this team has underachieved (i.e. Justin Verlander, anyone?) and are there any positive signs on the horizon? A team that's been on fire since the start of the season are the Tampa Bay Rays. Is it World Series or bust? Are they built more for the regular season than a short series? I'll discuss the red hot Oakland A's, winners of five in a row with a sweep over the Milwaukee Brewers. The Arizona Diamondbacks have thrived in the NL West. Break up the Miami Marlins as they share an identical record with the Los Angeles Dodgers?

(39:17) Novak Djokovic is now the all time winningest men's player when it comes to Grand Slams as he won the French Open over Casper Ruud. Is he officially the GOAT? Give it up to Iga Swiatek on the women's side as she gutted out a three set performance over upstart Karolina Muchova to win her third French and fourth Grand Slam overall.

(46:58) The NFL will stay relatively quiet until training camp next month. There was some player personnel moves the past week. Frank Clark goes from Kansas City to Denver. Dalvin Cook was cut from the Vikings. Are the Dolphins interested? De'Andre Hopkins is visiting with the Patriots. Is that a good fit?

(48:53) Arcangelo wins The Belmont Stakes, but a couple of horses had died after races over the weekend. What is going on with this sport? Is there going to be a crackdown on what's been taking place over the last few years?

(50:57) UFC's Amanda Nunes retain her title belts with a victory on Saturday night versus last minute replacement, Irene Aldana. She announced her retirement right after the bout as I throw bouquets to her on a great career.

NFL Super Wild Card Flop! NBA First Half Surprises & Disappointments. Baylor Bails From #1 Seed. Bruins Rolling In NHL East. Novak Sent Packing. MLB Negotiations At Standstill?

Fasten your seatbelts, because your trusted little sports podcast host comes out firing with some spicy hot takes as Episode #233 has plenty of sizzle! On deck:

(4:35) NFL Super Wild Card Weekend is in the books, but it was anything but super as your boy HAS LOTS to rail against how these games weren't intriguing or exciting. I'll get into the hot Bengal offense, the overrated Patriots defense, how Jalen Hurts isn't the answer in Philadelphia? How the Cowboys were at fault on the final drive and not the officials? Why the Chiefs are the team to beat in the AFC? I'll look ahead to the Divisional Round matchups and the Wild Card finale (i.e. pressure on Ram QB, Matthew Stafford) in LA between the Cardinals-Rams. I'll also share my thoughts on the post Black Monday firings of head coaches in the league (i.e. Giants and Texans)

(41:37) The NBA regular season has surpassed the halfway point of their schedule and there have been plenty of surprises and disappointments to date. I'll break down who's hot (i.e. Cavaliers, Grizzlies) and who's not (i.e. Lakers, Hawks) I also like how there's been some competitive balance throughout the league which has been refreshing unlike years past. I'll go through both conferences and keep you abreast on some of the big injuries (Bulls, Zach LaVine and Nets, Kevin Durant) and how Durant's absence could affect the Nets at the top of the crowded Eastern Conference? Plus, I have to revisit and reinforce my displeasure of the play in tournament involving the 7-10 seeds in the East & West.

(54:54) Baylor takes a double hit as they finally lost their first game of the year, but then followed that up with another loss (both at home, and in historic fashion) in the same week. They lose their grip at the #1 seed in the country, but will this affect them long term as March Madness awaits?

(57:35) The NHL keeps slogging through their schedule with tons of games that need to be made up, but the big stories coming from the ice are the returns of Lightning forward, Nikita Kucherov, Jack Eichel of the Golden Knights and Bruins goaltender, Tuukka Rask as they've been on fire as they make their way toward the top of the East.

(1:03:48) The Novak Djokovic saga didn't end well for the three time defending and nine time overall Australian Open champion. I'll put that situation to rest, but does this kill any buzz of the first Grand Slam of the year? There are plenty of interesting storylines even without the likes of Roger Federer, Serena and Venus Williams participating in the tournament down under.

(1:09:35) With pitchers and catchers on schedule to report four weeks from today (i.e. barring a Collective Bargaining Agreement finalized by the owners and players), all is quiet on the MLB front as discussions are at a standstill with no agreement in sight. When can we possibly expect some progress?

(1:12:45) In closing, my Hero and Zero of the Week.

In Yanks We Trust Come October? Thumbs Down On Mets, Baez & Lindor. NFL Over/Unders, College Football Preview. New Lakers: The Expendables! Novak's 'Slam' Chase. Taking Jake Paul Seriously?

August is about to depart and September is around the corner, but in the moment is my take on all that's going on in sports as Episode #211 has arrived. On deck:

(5:55) The polar opposites of the New York baseball teams as they've made news in the sport this past week. First up, the Yankees just completed a 13 game winning streak, putting themselves in prime position to make the postseason. It does pose the question, do you trust this core (i.e. Judge, Stanton, Sanchez, Torres, etc.) to deliver a championship? (17:33) Another rant about the god forsaken team that I root for in the Mets. How analytics ruined a big start by Taijuan Walker, the Javier Baez 'Thumbs Down' fiasco to the fans and there MUST be a complete house cleaning in store from the top on down as this team needs to do some major self-analysis this offseason. Plus, I'll take a look at the MLB playoff landscape as we head into the final month of the season.

(43:00) The NFL season is a week plus upon us. I'll review the over/under win totals for the year. Perhaps I'll give you a peek as to who I may choose come next week. I'll even get into my potential knockout pool pick to start off Week 1. I'll highlight what's going on throughout the league with some news and notes.

(54:04) The college football season is underway. I'll get into the first matchup of note this past weekend, what lies ahead this weekend as the highlight game will take place between #5 Georgia vs. #3 Clemson. I'll preview if there'll be a change at the top of the college football rankings at all throughout the course of the year, the alliance between the PAC-12, ACC & Big Ten and who'll be Heisman hopefuls come December?

(1:02:14) The Association was quiet, but there were a few transactions that took place. The Knicks offered Julius Randle a fair extension for some team flexibility. The new look Lakers add another familiar piece in Rajon Rondo as I'm going to dub them 'The Expendables' after the action movie and its mega cast of action heroes of the past. Is Kevin Garnett's Celtic number worthy of being risen up to the rafters at the TD Garden in Boston?

(1:09:17) Some signings in the NHL, a change in representation for Sabres' Jack Eichel as I've discussed in a recent podcast and a sad, untimely passing of former player, Jimmy Hayes.

(1:13:55) The final major tennis tournament of the year (US Open) with the only storyline being Novak Djokovic's chase for immortality in completing the calendar Grand Slam. Will he do it? Will the pressure mount as he gets closer to winning? What about the women's side as Naomi Osaka returns for her first Slam appearance since the Australian Open.

(1:20:08) Jake Paul is continuing to make his way and name in the world of boxing as he wins a split decision against former MMA fighter, Tyron Woodley. Is this a guy that we're going to have to take seriously?

(1:23:05) A thrilling six hole playoff goes under the radar, because it wasn't a major golf tournament, had Patrick Cantlay winning over Bryson Dechambeau as golf starts to gear up for the Ryder Cup coming soon.

(1:25:01) And closing out with my Hero and Zero of the Week.

Giannis On A Mission? Suns Look For Answers. Lightning: A Three-Peat On Deck? MLB's Pretenders/Contenders. Djokovic's Immortality. British Open Preview. Is McGregor Done? Soccer PK's Disaster!

NBA Finals. A Stanley Cup Finals recap. MLB at the halfway point. Novak Djokovic’s attempt at immortality. A preview of The British Open. Conor McGregor’s latest setback. And a rule that MUST be changed in soccer, especially when it comes to winning a championship.

Where else are you going to find all of that on one podcast? Right here, so please indulge me as I entertain you as Episode #203 is ready to set your speakers or earbuds on fire. On deck:

(5:54) The NBA Finals haven’t really been anything to write home about to date, but the Bucks have gotten back into the series as a pivotal Game 4 looms. What can the Suns do to stop the Giannis freight train? Will there be a Khris Middleton sighting? This is familiar territory for the Bucks as they do their best to dig outof another 0-2 hole. Who else from the Suns can step up and be the guy, besides Chris Paul and Devin Booker? There was also a new coaching hire as Jamahl Mosely is the top dog in Orlando.

(23:46) The Tampa Bay Lightning have won back to back Stanley Cups. The big question is? Can they go for a three-peat which hasn’t been witnessed in the league in almost 40 years? I’ll have the answer to that as I put the NHL playoffs to rest.

(33:52) I’ll go through what may be the pretenders and contenders in MLB. There isn’t much to discuss here as it’s been pretty much status quo for the past few weeks. You’ll have to listen to get a full grasp of what I’m saying. I’ll also discuss Jacob deGrom’s decision to not participate in the All-Star Game. The actual game itself. And how the Mets were able to get one of the top pitchers in the country via the MLB Draft last night.

(51:50) Novak Djokovic’s quest for immortality as he has completed 3/4 of the calendar Grand Slam, and in the process, has tied Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer for the most Grand Slam victories by a men’s player in history. What will the pressure be like for Joker as we approach the US Open next month?

(57:49) I’ll preview the British Open which begins on Thursday. Will the weather/elements be a factor? (That’s usually the case) Who may we see at the top of the leaderboard when all is said and done?

(1:04:06) The Conor McGregor-Dustin Poirier bout did not go as planned as Poirier wins by TKO at the fifth minute of the first round due to a cracked tibia as McGregor tried to plant his left foot. Is this the beginning of the end for McGregor?

(1:11:21) Italy wins the Euro Cup over England on penalty kicks. PENALTY KICKS?! Are you effing kidding me? Soccer may not be my forte, but something has to give as these championship matches CANNOT come down to this. I have a solution that’ll upset the soccer fan, but will make sense for a better and dramatic product.

(1:17:47) And, of course, my Hero and Zero of the Week!

Islanders Strike Lightning With Finals In Sight! Crisis Time For Nash/Nets? MLB's Crackdown On Pitchers? Is Djokovic The GOAT? Mickelson's Elusive Chase For US Open Title: A Preview

With summer just days away, it’s synonymous with the sports world as it’s blazing a trail with lots to get into. You’ve come to the right place for in-depth analysis and opinions as Episode 198 is primed and ready for takeoff. On deck:

(5:39) The Stanley Cup Playoffs have moved onto the Final Four. The Islanders meet up with a familiar foe as the Tampa Bay Lightning are again, standing in their path to a Cup Final. What do they need to do in order to pull off the upset? I’ll also preview the Canadiens-Golden Knights series as it commences later this evening (Monday 6/14)

(26:15) Not a whole lot of drama in the NBA Playoffs (unless you’re the Brooklyn Nets), but first, the Suns punched their ticket to the Western Conference Finals as they sweep the MVP of the league (Nikola Jokic) and the disappointing Nuggets. I’ll discuss their meteoric rise, Chris Paul’s resurgence, as well as, Donovan Mitchell’s Jazz a couple of wins away from meeting CP3. Is Mitchell the greatest Jazz player ever? EVER?! Is it time to panic if you’re Steve Nash and the Nets? Will there be a James Harden sighting? Will Kyrie Irving return? Can Kevin Durant will his team to the next round? Also, the Sixers are in cruise control, a belated mention on the retirement of Duke’s Coach K and some rumors as to a candidate for the next coaching job of the Celtics.

(50:00) The MLB could be ready for some pitchers getting warned and ejected as the crackdown of pitchers using foreign substances may take place this week. I’ll get into Gerrit Cole’s admission (or lack thereof) on whether he uses something to doctor the ball. Pete Alonso’s factual theory of baseballs being juiced for players in their free agent walk year. Jacob deGrom’s brilliance on display, yet again! The Rays stay hot, the Angels in the AL West mix? The Brewers and Cubs trending north, while the Cards head south. The Giants standing pat in a crowded NL West bunch with the rival Padres and Dodgers.

(1:05:27) Some NFL news comes down the pike as to Deshaun Watson telling a former teammate where he wants to play, Jordan Love getting some major reps with Aaron Rodgers skipping mandatory OTA’s, former NY Giants coach, Jim Fassel passes away and the College Football Playoff devising a plan to extend the format to 12 teams? I have a different plan altogether.

(1:11:02) Novak Djokovic wins the French Open and is halfway to a calendar Grand Slam? Can he do it? Is he already the GOAT?

(1:19:42) On the heels of winning the PGA, Phil Mickelson will ride the momentum to the US Open to shoot for that elusive championship. I’ll preview who may be at the top of the leaderboard and the juicy storyline of the Bryson DeChambeau-Brooks Koepka rivalry.

(1:24:52) Some thoughts on the Denmark soccer player, Christian Eriksen, who collapsed during a Euro 2020 game this past week.

(1:26:02) Of course, my Hero and Zero of the Week.

The Surprising Islanders, Unlocking Giannis Cheat Code, Will Nash Mesh In BK? Remembering Seaver/Brock. Yankee Freefall In AL East? NFL Over/Unders, Djokovic's DQ! Derby Dud?

A jam packed sports podcast party on this Labor Day as I zoom through the sports landscape on Episode 153. On deck:

(3:22) The surprising Islanders advance to the Eastern Conference Finals. How did they do it? What about their next opponent, the Tampa Bay Lightning? I’ll have plenty of thoughts on this, a prediction and look at what’s happening in the Western Conference.

(25:23) The NBA playoffs are in the second round and the Bucks have been a major story as they survive a sweep at the hands of the Miami Heat. I have an assessment on how to unlock reigning MVP, Giannis Antetekoumpo’s next ‘cheat code’ to take his game to the next level. Also, is this it for coach Mike Budenholzer? Will Kemba Walker step up in this series? What about Russell Westbrook? Rajon Rondo? All of the playoff breakdown from the bubble and will Steve Nash be able to mesh with his new team in Brooklyn?

(43:38) I’ll remember the lives of two great Hall of Famers who have passed in MLB (Tom Seaver & Lou Brock). I’ll discuss the state of the Yankees as they’ve taken a bit of a freefall here in early September, as well as, a lay of the land throughout baseball as we’re three weeks away from the end of the regular season.

(1:01:22) Are you ready for some football? The NFL begins in three days. I’ll review the over/under win totals, go through some of the personnel moves throughout the league as we embark on another season.

(1:11:32) Novak Djokovic’s shocking exit from the US Open as he was disqualified after striking a line judge with the ball. Will the mens champion become an asterisk when it’s all said and done?

(1:15:29) The Kentucky Derby ran on Saturday with an upset over the heavily favored, Tiz The Law. Why this Run for the Roses didn’t get much fanfare and what does it mean for next years race?

(1:17:30) Plus, my Hero and Zero of the Week.
