Through The Years
Fall of 2003. I had a weekly radio program from 7pm-8pm at The Point Community Center in The Bronx, NY.
This is where I developed the love for my craft. Other than being piped in to the center, I had maybe one or two listeners, tops! WPNT 1700AM radio had a very small signal in the Hunts Point section of the BX! I was here for seven years before moving on to the Internet.
Shout out to Craig Tindal, the program director for putting me on and starting my journey to where I am today!

JAYREELZ with The Diesel!
April 23, 1993. This was at the end of Shaquille O’Neal’s rookie season with the Orlando Magic. If you’re old enough to recall, he was taking the league by storm with his rim-rocking, backboard breaking dunks. In fact, he broke one later that night at the old Meadowlands/Continental Airlines Arena.
JAYREELZ with The G.O.A.T!
January 7th, 1989. I met former Detroit Red Wing, Bob Probert. He is one of my all time favorite athletes. He was the most polarizing player of his generation. During that time, he was the most popular player in Detroit! More than the ‘Bad Boy’ Pistons, Lions RB Barry Sanders, even his own teammate in future Hall of Famer, Steve Yzerman.
The reason why he is the G.O.A.T., in my opinion, is he was the toughest player to ever lace up skates in the history of the NHL. He fought anyone and everyone. Plus, there will never be another player like him ever! Look him up! Most, if not all of is fights are on YouTube. A true legend! RIP #24!
Through The Years
Summer of 2010. My cousin J.D. and I had a top sports show on Blog Talk Radio. Live, every Wednesday, from 8pm-10pm. Great memories, with some excellent guests along the way.
A Surprise Meeting with The Truth
September 2009. I’m standing outside of 30 Rockefeller Center. Lo and behold, here comes Paul Pierce. As a huge Celtics fan, I had an old keychain with the classic logo to show how much of a fan I am. He was gracious enough to stop and take a photo with me. Perhaps one day I’ll be fortunate to have him on the podcast.
A Chance Encounter with The Sports Guy!
November 2017. As I’m walking to the subway, I see Bill Simmons in my peripheral vision. He was walking rather quickly on Madison Ave. I said to myself, ‘The hell with this. I’m going to approach him.’ I went up to him, introduced myself, told him how I’m a big fan (especially love his podcasts with Cousin Sal during the NFL season) which he appreciated. I asked for a quick selfie (as you can see, it’s not the clearest photo) but was grateful for him to take a couple of minutes to do that.
Through The Years: Anniversary Special
June 10th, 2011. That is J.D. (left) and myself at our Live Three Year Anniversary Special of The Final Word with JAYREELZ & J.D. at Foley’s NYC Bar in the shadow of the Empire State Building in Manhattan. We had WFAN midday host, Marc Malusis, stop by to give us his take on what was happening in the sports world at that time. A great night with a wonderful turnout from our supporters.
