From Super Sunday to Stupor Monday as many fans are sad to see football go. Not this guy. Wait til you get a load out of what I have to say regarding that and plenty more when it comes to the sports world as the latest podcast is here! On deck:

(6:47) I open the podcast with a very unpopular opinion on this past NFL season. I share my deepest thoughts on how much the league has maneuvered, how the 17 game season and postseason was a flop, which leads to last night’s debacle in New Orleans where the Eagles fly high to destroy the Chiefs chances to three-peat. What about the news of Aaron Rodgers’s likelihood of not coming back to the Jets yesterday on the biggest day of the sport? I’ll get into Kellen Moore, the 2025 Hall of Fame class, Josh Allen’s MVP, Deebo Samuel wants out of SF as we put a lid on the 2024 season. The health of Randy Moss. And a couple of passings with former coach Dick Jauron and Bears owner Virginia Halas McCaskey transition at the ages of 74 and 102, respectively.

(35:38) Turning my attention to the NBA, where we witnessed the good, great, bad and ugly of Anthony Davis’s first game in Dallas. How long will he be out of the lineup? Could this end up as one of the worst trades in NBA history? I’ll unpack Jimmy Butler’s first game in Golden State. Giannis’s injury. Same for Joel Embiid. The return of OKC’s Chet Holmgren. Hubie Brown’s final broadcast. The Laker trade for a big man was rescinded. Nate Robinson’s new lease on life. Ben Simmons gets bought out. Where did he end up? And are the Knicks paper tigers? Will Karl Anthony Towns bounce back from a pathetic performance on Saturday vs. Boston?

(54:32) Is St. John’s back in college basketball? Forty years ago, they were the #1 team in the nation. Rick Pitino has made some huge strides over the past two years. Can they have a deep tournament run? How about Florida upsetting the top ranked team in the nation in Auburn?

(59:28) On the ice, there’ll be a 10-12 day layoff for the NHL to have their 4 Nations Face-Off to replace the All Star Game this year. Will I be into it? Plus, Alex Ovechkin gets closer to topping Wayne Gretzky’s all time goal scoring record. Is it getting the attention that this story deserves?

(1:04:17) Pitchers and catchers will be reporting throughout MLB by the end of the week. Is it too early to get wrapped up in spring and a forthcoming baseball season?

It’ll be a Super Show indeed as the big showdown gets closer with plenty of other things going on throughout the sports universe as the latest podcast is here! On deck:

(6:34) Is anyone ready for Super Bowl LIX? Whether you are or aren’t, I’ll be sure to uncover all that may transpire with key factors and strategy that could impact who’ll hold the Vince Lombardi Trophy Sunday evening? Will the Chiefs become a part of immortality? Or are the Eagles looking to exact revenge from their Super Bowl loss to the Chiefs two years ago? I’ll also get into the Hall of Fame candidates that could be nominated into Canton, especially Eli Manning. The end of the road for Cooper Kupp in LA. And Myles Garrett wants out in Cleveland. What’s the best landing spot for the reigning Defensive Player of the Year?

(38:17) The NBA has been wheeling and dealing all week with blockbuster trades. Another one came down the pike last night as Jimmy Butler gets his wish. He’s jettisoned to Golden State in a multi-player/team deal. Will this push the Warriors back into contention? I’ll also talk about how Brandon Ingram was sent packing to Toronto. Could he stay healthy and be a big contributor to a team looking for an identity? I’ll recap a wild week of player movement and is there still a big trade to take place before the deadline at 3pm today?

(55:38) Alexander Ovechkin is now 17 goals away from breaking the all time goal scoring record. Is it getting the attention that it deserves? And will we all witness it when the time comes?

(1:04:30) Met fans can exhale. Pete Alonso re-signs on a two year deal with an opt-out after the first year. What does this mean to him? What about for the Mets in 2025? The Cubs bolster their bullpen by bringing in Ryan Brasier of the Dodgers to go along with Ryan Pressly this offseason.

A new month has arrived, same for a new week, who knows if spring will arrive early on this day after Groundhog Day, but one thing is certain, that your favorite little podcast host will have a lot to dive into when it comes to what’s going on in sports as the latest podcast is here! On deck:

(6:49) It took the NBA and the entire sports universe by surprise. The late night trade between the Mavericks and Lakers sending Luka Doncic to LA, with Anthony Davis going to Dallas, among other players and draft picks. Did Luka fall out of favor in Dallas? Is AD the final piece to a championship puzzle? Were other teams involved? It was shocking, to say the least to have two All NBA players traded in season. I’ll also discuss the Kings trading De’Aaron Fox to San Antonio in a three team deal. Does it automatically make them a playoff team? I’ll check in on Jimmy Butler’s situation and another trade that took place as the deadline is Thursday at 3pm. I’ll see who’s been playing well and keep you abreast of the latest on the hardwood.

(32:32) Super Bowl LIX is now six days away. I’ll uncover the top storylines, oh wait, other than Saquon Barkley and no Jason Kelce, are there any other angles to sink our teeth into considering these squads played against one another two year ago? Pete Carroll finds an offensive coordinator to run the ship in Vegas. You may be surprised who it is.

(37:31) College basketball is starting to hit its stride as March Madness will be here before you know it. I’ll recap the week that was (Iowa State loses at home for the first time in forever, Duke’s Cooper Flagg shows complete arsenal vs. UNC, Kansas suffers biggest deficit blown vs. Baylor. Coach Cal’s return to Kentucky as he gets the last laugh vs. his former team) as there’s plenty to unwrap on the collegiate circuit.

(46:00) The NBA isn’t the only league that’s had blockbuster trades. On the ice, the Rangers continue to wheel and deal as they re-acquire former #1 pick JT Miller from Vancouver as they do their best to get themselves back into the playoff mix. The Dallas Stars get reinforcements bringing in two players, including defenseman Cody Ceci that is much needed for a depleted backline. You had milestones (Rangers goalie Jonathan Quick reaches 400 wins, the most by a US born netminder). Alex Ovechkin is now 18 goals from surpassing Wayne Gretzky all time. A great scene in Montreal for native son Marc-Andre Fleury in his last game at the Bell Centre. And Canadian fans booing the National Anthem? I have a word or two on that so I’ll throw my two cents in on what’s happening North of the Border.

(1:00:11) Pitchers and catchers are less than two weeks away. The Tigers re-up on pitcher Jack Flaherty. The Blue Jays sign aging Max Scherzer to a one year deal. And the passing of former commissioner Fay Vincent who had bladder cancer at the age of 86.

(1:03:02) Israel Adesanya was TKO’d in the second round on Saturday vs. Nassourine Imavov. Could this be the beginning of the end for the UFC fighter?

(1:04:49) A programming note as I’ll host a livestream right about Super Bowl LIX to review the game and unpack an event that’ll take place early next month that you will not want to miss!

The first month of the new year is just about in the books, but not before one last episode to fulfill your sports fix as best as I possibly can as the latest podcast comes your way. On deck:

(6:22) Have we approached the first Sports Dead Zone of 2025? There isn’t much to sink our teeth into, especially with the Super Bowl ten days away. I’ll touch on the new defensive coordinator in New York to join Aaron Glenn’s staff with the Jets. Chuck Pagano coming out of retirement to be a part of the Ravens defensive staff under John Harbaugh. And Bill Belichick stating that the Vince Lombardi Trophy should be named the Brady Trophy, after his former QB Tom Brady.

(10:54) On the hardwood with the Association, there have been reports of the Sacramento Kings dangling their franchise guard, De’Aaron Fox in trade possibilities between now and the deadline next Thursday. Is that a smart move? Commish Adam Silver is thinking about shortening the NBA game from 12 minutes to 10 minutes a quarter. Is this a good idea? I’ll see what else is out there when it comes anything regarding the NBA as they’re well past the halfway point of the season.

(26:35) The only newsworthy item on the ice, is the Utah Hockey Club trying to choose a name for their team. (It’s a slow sports week, people.) They had to scrap one name and now are in the process of choosing another. How will this unfold with, I think, are some awful considerations (I.e. Mountaineers, Blizzard and Wasatch) Wasatch?! Alex Ovechkin is still at 874 goals, 21 behind Wayne Gretzky all time. How about the Ottawa Senators? They’ve crept up the Atlantic Division standings and have staked a claim of being in the middle of the playoff picture in the East. I’ll peek at what else is going on as another month looms in a long season.

(34:28) College basketball will start to become a part of the podcast until the end of March Madness, which is seven weeks from today. I’ll discuss the dominance of the SEC that has four of the top eight and seven of the top 14 teams in the nation. The re-emergence of St. John’s and the decline of the two time defending champion, UCONN Huskies, who are currently 25th in the nation at the moment. Will they be able to rise toward a three-peat when the time comes?

(44:22) Pitchers and catchers will report for spring training in a couple of weeks plus. Besides a few signings (Carlos Estevez to KC, Ha-Seong Kim to TB and Ryne Stanek re-signs with the Mets) Hal Steinbrenner made a comment about the Dodgers free wheeling offseason and how it’s “difficult” to keep up with them. Is he out of line for saying that, considering they’ve spent a ton of money a month or so ago?

I’m chomping at the bit to uncover the last few days of what’s happened throughout the sports landscape. Thanks for coming by and getting an earful of what is on my mind as the latest podcast is here! On deck:

(6:42) Super Bowl LIX is set. The Eagles and Chiefs will meet for the second time in three years after both home teams won to punch their ticket to New Orleans on February 9th. Philadelphia capitalized on four turnovers which led to 28 points as they slowed down the Washington Commanders train this postseason. I’ll break down the key points of the game, the future of Jayden Daniels and co. and my disdain for the Tush Push. As for Kansas City, they are one game away from a three-peat, which has never been done in the Super Bowl era. They eke out another big win for the franchise, while Josh Allen falls short in a huge spot. Is he ever to be trusted to win an enormous game with the money on the line? I’ll get into the latest with the new coaching hires in the sport and a new GM in New York with the Jets. How will the new brass handle Aaron Rodgers’s future moving forward?

(40:22) The first tennis Grand Slam is complete as there was a big shock (Madison Keys upsetting Aryna Sabalenka) and not so big shock (Jannik Sinner winning back to back Australian Open tournaments) Also, what’s with the tennis fans Down Under booing Novak Djokovic?

(47:44)On the hardwood, the Association has been rather low key. You do have the Cavaliers coming back to the pack in the East, where the Celtics have admitted to being in cruise control. Can the Celtics continue their ascent to the top of the East? I’ll see what else is happening in the NBA as teams have played more than half of their season.

(56:51) As for the ice, the Carolina Hurricanes took a giant swing with acquiring Mikko Rantanen from Colorado for Jack Drury and Martin Necas. They also pick up Taylor Hall from Chicago as part of a three team deal. Will this risky move work out for Carolina? Everything else is pretty quiet around the NHL as I’ll peek at the upcoming schedule over the next three days.

(1:01:30) The Mets front office has gone on record to say that the Pete Alonso negotiations have been exhausting. Which leads me to believe, it’s time for the former first baseman to call ownership and hammer out a deal. I’ll further explain. And the Braves add a good, underrated player in Jurickson Profar to a three year deal showing that they’re staying active, doing their best to improve the roster.

The sun is starting to set on the first month of the year. ALREADY? But not without yours truly getting into every nook and cranny on what is happening in the sports universe as the latest podcast has arrived! On deck:

(6:48) We’re down to the final three games of the NFL season. Two will be played on Sunday as Championship Sunday is on the horizon. I’ll uncover the big storylines (Chiefs chasing history. Is it Josh Allen’s time? Will the Commanders magic carpet ride lead them to New Orleans? Can Philadelphia get back to the Super Bowl?) preview both games and predict who’ll face one another down in the Big Easy for Super Bowl LIX. I’ll get into the coaching hires that have taken place (Ben Johnson to Chicago and Aaron Glenn to the Jets) Why the Glenn hire was a good one, but it comes with a caveat? The Jaguars fired their GM Trent Baalke in light of Buccaneers OC Liam Coen passing on their head coaching position. Where do they go from here?

(40:27) Ohio State rebounds from a brutal home loss to Michigan to run the table and win a National Championship over Notre Dame Monday night. Why they end up having the last laugh?

(45:47) College basketball will slowly but surely creep into our sports consciousness in the weeks to come, but I’ll talk about what’s happening in the Association. Not much to unfurl, but we could be in the process of Jimmy Butler finally getting traded from Miami. I’ll detail a huge haul by the Phoenix Suns which could precipitate a deal before the deadline on February 6th. The Dallas Mavericks suffer another key injury (Dereck Lively) to their depleted roster. And Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (aka SGA) is on the fast track to an MVP with a career high 54 points recorded last night in a win vs. Utah. I’ll see what else has transpired throughout the NBA as we’re past the halfway point of the season.

(56:41) The NHL has been rather quiet. Other than the league’s best player (Connor McDavid) being suspended for three games due to his actions in a game vs. Vancouver. And the Rangers are unbeaten in the last nine games as they try to make up ground in the Metropolitan Division.

(1:00:24) As for baseball, other than a few fringe signings (Tim Anderson to the Angels. Paul Sewald to Cleveland) the baseball writers have inducted Ichiro Suzuki, CC Sabathia and Billy Wagner to the Hall of Fame. Are they all worthy of enshrinement?

(1:07:08) We’re heading into the final few days of the Australian Open. Novak Djokovic is seeking his 25th Grand Slam singles title. He beat Carlos Alcaraz in the quarterfinals (I have an interesting observation on Alcaraz) but will he get to a final and possibly beat Jannik Sinner. On the women’s side, Aryna Sabalenka is looking for a three peat as she’s reached the final. She’ll face Madison Keys, who upset Iga Swiatek in the semis. Can she pull off another major upset?

It’s a holiday Monday, honoring the late, great Dr. Martin Luther King for all he stood for. On a MUCH lesser scale, you know what I stand for when it comes to anything and everything happening in between the white lines and beyond as the latest podcast is here! On deck:

(6:43) We’re down to the final four in the NFL. With just three more games to go in this season, it was a good, not great Divisional Round. I’ll recap the big headlines of the past couple of days, including the Lions disappointing ending, the Commanders upside and magic. Lamar Jackson & co. didn’t deliver in Buffalo. The Eagles were fortunate to get out with a win despite Saquon’s monster game. And the Chiefs keep on Chiefing as they’re in another AFC Championship Game. I’ll break it all down and share my thoughts on the two games next Sunday leading up to Super Bowl LIX.

(33:54) Is there a college football championship game tonight? It seems like an afterthought after a ten day layoff from the semifinal games, but I’ll preview some of the key points for Notre Dame-Ohio State as a champion will be crowned this evening.

(39:29) The Association is front and center on this MLK Day. The only juicy storyline over the past few days is the return of Jimmy Butler in Miami. How will this play out? Is there a trade on the horizon? I’ll see what else is happening as the league is at or just about past the halfway point of their season.

(48:03) On the ice, there was an achievement that the NHL has never seen. Penguins goalie Alex Nedeljkovic is the first player in league history to score a goal and assist in the same game at the position. There’s a possible suspension for one of the best players in the sport (Oilers Connor McDavid) And Alex Ovechkin adds another goal to inch closer to Wayne Gretzky all time, but there could be another added layer to this magical season as we get to mid April.

(54:47) Are the Dodgers World Series Champions for 2025 in January? It’s sure looking that way with the signings of Roki Sasaki and lefty bullpen arm Tanner Scott as they’re locked and loaded to defend their title. I have to add the sad news of both Bob Uecker and Jeff Torborg who passed away over the last few days at the ages of 90 & 83 respectively.

(1:01:57) What is going on down under at the Australian Open? Between the players, fans and media, it’s been a wild few days regarding Novak Djokovic and the local media. Danielle Collins getting heckled by the fans and returning barbs with them in losing her match to Madison Keys. A big upset as Daniil Medvedev is ousted from the tournament. A crazy past few days as we turn the corner to the second week of the first Grand Slam of the year. NOTE: The Blue Jays sign Anthony Santander in some breaking news at the time. A five year, $90 million dollar deal as another free agent is off the market.

A huge NFL weekend will carry us in what’s been a quiet week in the world of sports. Have no fear, I’ll still take what’s out there and deliver another entertaining hour of sports talk as the latest podcast has arrived. On deck:

(6:36) I’d be remiss to not shoutout my son who’s celebrating a birthday today as he turns 35 years old.

(7:14) The best weekend of the NFL year is upon us. Divisional Playoff weekend is forthcoming. There are plenty of juicy storylines heading into these four matchups. The quest for a three-peat if your’e the Chiefs. The Lions attempt to get to their first Super Bowl in franchise history. Both Lamar Jackson and Josh Allen thirsting for a trip to New Orleans to represent the AFC. I’ll breakdown and analyze what will take place on Saturday and Sunday as we’re one step closer to Super Bowl LIX. I’ll also get into the circus in Dallas surrounding departed head coach, Mike McCarthy. Is it possible that Deion Sanders is waiting in the wings? Why this isn’t a good move for Deion OR Jerry Jones, if this were the case?

(50:10) All is quiet in the Association and not much has happened over the past few days in the NBA.

(54:32) Same can be said for the NHL as you have a slew of games over the next few days that aren’t anything to write home about.

(57:46) Japanese star pitcher Roki Sasaki has narrowed down his list to three teams that he’ll sign with. (Dodgers, Padres, Blue Jays) I’ll tell you where he’ll be the man, a place where he’ll beat the man or just joining the men. I’m sure you can figure that out.

(1:01:56) There have been a couple of mild upsets down under at the Australian Open, but the big story heading into the first weekend of the tournament is the play of Naomi Osaka. Will she continue her stellar play into next week and generate serious buzz for the two time Aussie champion?

Christmas may be over, but the Grinch (yours truly) will certainly put plenty of coal in your stocking as this is a rather spicy podcast detailing all that’s transpired in the sports world. On deck:

(6:45) I have to express my displeasure of the NFL ‘cannibalizing’ themselves with the oversaturating of the sport with broadcasts on a million platforms. Games played on multiple days of the week, jamming down these contests down our throats. When is enough, enough? Week 17 is off to a rather brutal start. Other than Beyonce’s halftime performance, the NFL games yesterday were unwatchable! There are questions emanating from all four contestants. Who’s beating the Chiefs? Are the Steelers shrinking to where they won’t be long for the postseason? Is this the Ravens/Lamar Jackson’s year? Can you take the Houston Texans seriously? I’ll go through the rest of the weeks schedule. I’ll make a mention of two big losses in college football regarding personnel who will not play in the Notre Dame-Georgia Sugar Bowl matchup on Wednesday night. Also, former Eagles LB Bill Bergey passed away at the age of 79. CORRECTION: At the 11:00 minute mark, I mentioned Chicago is fighting for a playoff spot. It’s Seattle. My apologies as I got carried away with my commentary throughout the podcast.

(39:00) The NBA had their banner day on Christmas as Victor Wembanyama impresses, Luka Doncic goes down with a calf injury. Are the Sixers out of their early season malaise? What’s going on with the Celtics? The Lakers win a classic as Austin Reaves saves the day with a triple double and game clinching layup. Off the court, Heat guard Jimmy Butler prefers to leave Miami for greener pastures. Where will he possibly end up? And is it possible that Wembanyama could be the face of the NBA down the road?

(50:43) On the ice, the NHL has taken a few days off due to the holiday, which the Rangers have seem to be on an extended one, considering how they’ve played in the last month and change. Is another shakeup in order? The Sabres snap their 13 game losing streak in resounding fashion vs. the Islanders Monday, which segues to a diatribe on my favorite hockey team. Kudos to Sidney Crosby tying Mario Lemieux on the all time assist category in the league’s history.

(58:31) The MLB Hot Stove may cool off here, unless something sparks up over the last week of 2024. With Corbin Burnes, Pete Alonso, Alex Bregman and the like still available, could a transaction take place? If not now, when? I’ll part with thoughts on Walker Buehler signing with the Red Sox and why the Mets did not have any interest? And can they sign lefty reliever Tanner Scott to shore up their bullpen?

Is this just your average, run of the mill sports podcast? HA! I’m taking this ten notches above as I uncover ALL that’s happening, and then some, as the latest podcast is here! On deck:

(6:44) NFL Week 11 was intriguing with lots of questions to answer. Are the Bills the AFC’s best? What about the Steelers after their win vs. Baltimore? Can the Chargers build steam as they’re on a winning streak? How about the Lions? Are they the best team overall? Can the Eagles overtake them in the NFC? Will the 49ers not make the playoffs this year? And what I would do if I was the owner of the NY Jets? I will answer all of those questions and much more as it was a wild Sunday throughout the sport.

(37:11) BYU suffered a huge loss at home to Kansas and possibly have them on the outside looking in as far as the college football playoff. Oregon survived a scare at Wisconsin to keep their #1 ranking. Georgia responds with a big home win vs. Tennessee and propels them back into the playoff picture. I’ll have all of the latest as we’re a couple of weeks away from the conclusion of the regular season.

(44:32) Will anyone slow down or stop the Cleveland Cavaliers? It’s quite possible that we could see that happen tomorrow night in Boston as they are currently 15-0. I’ll get into the milestones of Chris Paul (12K career assists) and James Harden (second all time of three point shots made) and why I wasn’t in favor for what Harden said after his achievement? TNT’s Inside the NBA will go to ESPN/ABC after this year. Was that a shock? I’ll see what else is happening throughout the Association as they’re just about a month into the regular season.

(52:08) All is relatively quiet on the ice as the Winnipeg Jets have cooled off losing two in a row in Florida over the weekend. Alexander Ovechkin nets a hat trick vs. Vegas last night to get to less than 30 goals (29 to be exact) to surpassing Wayne Gretzky all time for goals scored in a career. Then you have Connor McDavid who became the fourth fastest player to reach 1,000 points in a career as he did so a few nights back.

(56:57) I’ll spend a brief moment talking about MLB handing out their awards this week and Tampa Bay confirming where the Rays are playing their homes games next year.

(1:00:11) Do I have to recap the boredom and absolutely flop of the Jake Paul-Mike Tyson fight on Friday night? Will Paul pivot to fight against boxers in the professional ranks? What about the undercard match between Katie Taylor vs. Amanda Serrano?

(1:05:05) Jon Jones continues to add to his UFC legend defeating Stipe Miocic in the octagon on Saturday night. Who’s up next for him to battle? You may be surprised to hear who he has his sights set on.

Ready, set, go as I’m flying out of the gate capturing all that’s happened and what to possibly expect throughout the sports universe as the latest podcast is here. On deck:

(6:36) I’d be remiss if I didn’t acknowledge the soldiers, servicemen and women in our country, fighting for our nation and protecting our freedom here on this Veteran’s Day.

(7:01) We’re now ten weeks into the NFL season, finally past the halfway mark. I’ll express the good, bad and ugly of what has transpired over the first two plus months of the year. Has it been a season to remember at this point? I’ll recap all of the action of the weekend, including a big Steelers win in Washington. The Lions getting out of Houston alive with a victory. And the Chiefs are still unbeaten.

(34:22) College football continues to surprise as there were more upsets on Saturday. Did Georgia take a severe hit to their playoff chances losing at Ole Miss? What about Miami upended at Georgia Tech? You know LSU is out after suffering a blowout defeat at home vs. Alabama. And BYU survives after a controversial call to stay unbeaten and in the mix to qualify for the 12 team playoff next month. How will the committee dissect this after Saturday’s games?

(46:13) Don’t look now, but the NBA In Season Tournament begins tomorrow! Will yours truly get wrapped up over the next month with the culmination in Las Vegas? What has gone on with the Milwaukee Bucks? The free fall continues, but this falls on one person as to why they’re a far cry from the championship level team of a few years ago. I’ll check on what else is going on in the Association before pivoting to…

(58:02)…the latest on the ice. The Winnipeg Jets have set an NHL record for the best start to a season ever. They’re on pace for 77 wins. Can they keep this up? Alex Ovechkin scored two more goals to leave him 32 away from surpassing The Great One all time in the history of the sport. I’ll peek on how other teams are faring after the first month of the season.

(1:03:40) The MLB hot stove has cooled off a bit. Although there is one glaring question surrounding the most coveted free agent, Juan Soto. Are there any other teams besides the Yankees & Mets that will entertain discussions with the slugging outfielder? Plus, a new manager surfaces in Miami and a familiar one comes back in The Bronx, but is a lame duck heading into 2025.

Mass Shooting Mars Chiefs Parade. Shanahan/Lynch Fall Guy For Super Bowl Loss. LeBron Rumor To Golden St? KD: Curry Top 5 All Time? Caitlin Clark Chasing History. NHL Stadium Series Upcoming

On this day after Valentine’s, the lovefest continues as I dissect and share all that’s happening in sports. On deck:

(3:14) We make the pivot to The Sports Dead Zone, Pt. 1 (Post Super Bowl and right before the NCAA Tournament or Opening Day of the MLB season) as I spend a moment discussing this.

(6:03) What was supposed to be another celebratory parade through Kansas City with their third title in five years, turned out to be a nightmare as a mass shooting occurred nearby the festivities to where one person was killed and 22 others injured. When will this country wake up and take a stand to these senseless shootings? Then the San Francisco 49ers fired their defensive coordinator Steve Wilks. He’s the fall guy for the Niners losing the Super Bowl on Sunday. I have a major problem with this, so I’ll go in on the GM John Lynch and head coach Kyle Shanahan as Wilks did not deserve this fate.

(15:46) The NBA will head into the All-Star Break after a few games tonight. Will I be watching? You had the rumor that the Warriors were interested in acquiring LeBron James at the trade deadline last week. Why I’m glad that didn’t take place? A few days ago, Kevin Durant stated that former teammate Steph Curry is a top-5 all time player? Is he accurate with that statement? Then you had Pistons center, Isaiah Stewart assault Suns Drew Eubanks BEFORE the game in Phoenix last night. How did this all come about? I’ll survey the basketball landscape as the league takes a respite for the next week.

(30:53) As for college basketball, another top team falls by the wayside (I.e. #7 North Carolina) Tonight, history will likely be made as Iowa’s Caitlin Clark will break the all time scoring record in women’s college basketball. Is she considered one of the great women’s players of all time?

(35:18) It’s a big weekend for the NHL as there’s not one, but two, outdoor games as the Stadium Series will occur at Met Life Stadium in New Jersey. Saturday night will have the Flyers visiting the Devils, while Sunday afternoon, the Islanders are the home team against the Rangers. Will these games be sold out? What about the weather for both matchups? I have to get into the aftermath of the cross check of Morgan Rielly to Ridley Greig, which garnered a five game suspension to the Maple Leafs Rielly. Did the punishment fit the crime? And what could be done to stop incidents like this? I’ll check on who’s hot and who’s not on the ice as the season is just about two-thirds done.

(44:20) Pitchers and catchers have reported throughout the MLB. There’s one notable player that may have a slow start to their upcoming year. Astros pitcher, Justin Verlander is behind schedule on a shoulder issue. Is anyone surprised? Is yours truly into this early part of spring training with position players reporting in five days? What about big time free agents that are still out there? (I.e. Blake Snell, Cody Ballinger and Matt Chapman)

Mahomes GOAT Status? Chief Dynasty Or Not? Bitter 49er Loss Headline Classic End To A Non Classic Super Bowl. NBA Heads Into Break. NHL Needs Fighters! Pitchers/Catchers On Deck

It was a Super ending to a very good, but not classic game. I’ll unwrap all of what took place in Las Vegas last night and everything else that’s happening in sports as the latest podcast is at your fingertips. On deck:

(3:02) The legend grows with the Kansas City Chiefs quarterback. Is this a dynasty or a dynasty in the making? And a bitter loss for a franchise that hasn’t one a Super Bowl in almost three decades are the big picture items to unpack in a good, not great game, but classic ending in an overtime thriller where the Chiefs won 25-22 over the 49ers. I’ll get into every nook and cranny of the game, strategy, the biggest play of Super Bowl LVIII, is Patrick Mahomes the GOAT?, the halftime show, Tony Romo’s performance as color commentator, the rating of the broadcast and commercials as I put to rest another NFL season. I also have a big gripe with the Hall of Fame selection committee as they snubbed one time Chargers tight end, Antonio Gates, to be enshrined in Canton with Julius Peppers, Dwight Freeney, Patrick Willis, Devin Hester, et al. for the upcoming 2024 HOF class.

(47:53) The NBA is just about ready to take a respite as the All Star Break is approaching. I’ll get into what the latest is going on in the Association, including the aftermath of the trade deadline on Thursday.

(52:20) On the ice, the league has to deal with another incident on Saturday night with Maple Leafs Morgan Rielly cross checking Senators Ridley Greig in the neck after taking a slap shot into an empty net. Which begs the question for yours truly. Can we bring back the resident tough guy for each team on their roster? Alex Ovechkin inches closer to Wayne Gretzky’s all time goal scoring record, although he did eclipse Gretzky’s record for most empty net goals, if you’re into that. There are a couple of key injuries to report (Avalanche’s Nathan MacKinnon and Lightning’s Mikhail Sergachev) as they could miss quite some time, especially Sergachev.

(58:34) We’re just a few days away from pitchers and catchers reporting in MLB. I’ll share some thoughts on what Shohei Ohtani said about feeling like he’s a rookie again, the retirement of pitcher Corey Kluber and another small dark cloud hangs over the Mets franchise as former GM Billy Eppler was suspended for a year, although he’s no longer a part of the organization.

Complete Super Bowl LVIII Preview & Taylor Swift Tracker? NFL Opens In Brazil On A FRIDAY? NBA Trade Deadline Surprises? Oilers Layoff Throttles History. MLB Deals Involving Witt Jr. & Altuve

It’ll be a SUPER podcast as we cap off the final game of the NFL season and everything else happening in sports. On deck:

(3:05) A way too early pregame show on CBS. A Taylor Tracker monitoring pop’s biggest superstar’s arrival in Las Vegas. And, oh yes, there is a football game being played Sunday night in Sin City between the San Francisco 49ers vs. Kansas City Chiefs. I’ll have a complete breakdown of what the keys will be for both teams, matchups to look for and who’ll win the 58th version of the big game. I’ll also share my thoughts on the halftime show with Usher headlining the festivities, the commercials, how this’ll be the most watched television show in history, color commentator Tony Romo, among other things that surround Super Sunday. I must add my two cents on the NFL, not only playing in Brazil as we know, but when they’re playing this game. A Friday? Seriously?

(36:21) The trade deadline in the NBA has arrived. By 3pm today, we would expect some wheeling and dealing as teams look for reinforcements for the stretch run of the regular season. Will the Sixers make a play for Bulls guard, DeMar DeRozan with reigning MVP Joel Embiid on the shelf for the next four weeks?

(43:52) #3 Kansas Jayhawks become another top team in college basketball to suffer a loss as in-state rival Kansas St. defeated them earlier this week. With all of the unpredictability of the sport this year, can we even project who the four #1 seeds are if the season ended today?

(46:21) After a long All-Star Break layoff, the Edmonton Oilers were unable to match the 1992-93 Pittsburgh Penguins for the longest winning streak in NHL history as they fell a game short, losing to the Vegas Golden Knights on Tuesday night. The Vancouver Canucks continue their winning ways, with newly acquired Elias Lindholm making a contribution, as they’re playing well above anyone ever imagined coming into this season.

(50:45) With pitchers and catchers ready to report a week from now, there were two signings of note in the MLB. Royals shortstop, Bobby Witt Jr. inked an 11 year/$288.7 million dollar deal. And Jose Altuve will stay put in Houston as he signed on for a five year/$125 million dollar contract. Please subscribe, leave a rating and post a review on Apple Podcasts, Google Podcasts, Spotify, Audacy, Amazon Music and iHeartRadio or wherever you get your podcasts.

Mahomes/Reid Rarefied Air? Shanahan/49ers Title Drought Lead Super Bowl Storylines. Embiid's Absence, Lakers Turning The Corner? College B-Ball Back On Sports Map? Orioles Get A Much Needed Ace

Get ready for some big sports news and up to the second info on the podcast as I'll pack a huge wallop on this recent episode for your edification. On deck:

(3:00) I have to apprise you folks of some housekeeping prior to getting into sports. There's an upgrade to the podcast, which includes a VIDEO component on my YouTube channel (link below) starting next Monday. Also, some other news that WILL come as a surprise, so you have to tune in to hear what it's all about.

(5:58) Super Bowl Week has arrived. Both the Kansas City Chiefs & San Francisco 49ers have descended down on Sin City, Las Vegas as the 58th version of the big game is set for Sunday at Allegiant Stadium. I'll introduce some interesting storylines (i.e. a rematch from the game four years ago, Andy Reid & Patrick Mahomes about to reach rarefied air, Kyle Shanahan's attempt to win his first Bowl, the Niners title drought, among many others) There's plenty of time to breakdown the game itself, which I'll do on Thursday's podcast, so today will focus on the headlines that will be discussed all week as we prepare for the final game of the NFL season. In coaching news, the Washington Commanders hired former Cowboys defensive coordinator, Dan Quinn to patrol the sidelines in DC. Was this a smart hire? Was it a good hire? CORRECTION: I made a mention of Andy Reid’s son being involved in a fatal car accident. It was NOT fatal. The little girl involved was severely injured. My apologies for the erroneous comment.

(26:37) There have been some developments in the Association over the past week, with the big one being reigning MVP, Joel Embiid. He suffered a knee injury and had to get surgery to repair a torn meniscus. How his absence will affect not just the Sixers, but the Eastern Conference overall. The Lakers have had two huge road wins in Boston and New York against the Knicks. Are they starting to turn the corner? In three days, the NBA trade deadline will arrive. I'll get into which names are being thrown around as teams look for reinforcements for the stretch run of the season. As well as, Bradley Beal's triumphant return to Washington in his first visit back from his playing days with the Wizards.

(39:08) College basketball is starting to take more notice as North Carolina-Duke renewed their long standing rivalry on Saturday night, with the Tar Heels winning in the Dean Dome. With quite a few blue bloods (i.e. North Carolina, Kansas, Duke, Kentucky) ranked in the Top 25, is that good for the casual college b-ball fan, unlike last year?

(43:11) The NHL is coming out of their All-Star Break with the 'second half' picking up tonight. I'll take a look at what the remainder of the season looks like for teams that may take some big leaps (i.e. Vancouver, Winnipeg, Boston) and others that are scrambling or jockeying for playoff positioning. What about the Edmonton Oilers trying to make history after a ten day layoff to go for a record 17 game winning streak tomorrow night in Vegas?

(51:54) With pitchers and catchers reporting in a week and a half, the Baltimore Orioles made a significant trade in bringing in former Milwaukee Brewers ace, Corbin Burnes. Is it their division to lose again, after winning the AL East last year?

Chiefs DNA, Lamar/Harbaugh Miscues, Lions Clock Strikes 12, 49ers Resilient Caps Title Games. Luka Nets 73. Can That Be Topped? Oilers Date With History On Big Pause. Sinner's Epic Comeback Wins AO

Closing out the first month of the year with plenty to digest and dissect on all that took place in sports, so get your earbuds, headphones or speakers ready as I share all of my thoughts, opinions and analysis. On deck:

(3:15) We have a Super Bowl LVIII matchup set in two weeks at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas. One that we're very familiar with. Kansas City showed their grit and championship DNA in winning another huge road game, 17-10 over the Baltimore Ravens. What went wrong for the #1 seeded Ravens? Is this all on the QB Lamar Jackson? What about the head coach John Harbaugh? Oh, there is much to unpack here as the Chiefs go back to the Super Bowl for the fourth time in five years to defend their title from last year. As for the nightcap, all of Michigan must be sick because the Lions weren't able to seal the deal vs. the 49ers. What was the head coach, Dan Campbell, thinking on going for it not once, but TWICE, instead of kicking a field goal? Another Niner comeback propels them in a rematch of Super Bowl LIV in Miami where the Chiefs and 49ers will go at it in less than two weeks. I'll unpack every fiber of what took place yesterday, take a peek at some coaching hires as we're just one game away from the 2023 NFL season concluding.

(35:38) Luka Doncic put up 73 points on Friday night vs. Atlanta, days after Joel Embiid scored 70 points in his own right. Will we see a player eclipse what Luka did? Could someone score 80? Surpass Kobe Bryant's 81, 18 years ago? You have a big regular season game tonight out West when the top two teams in the conference face off in OKC where the Timberwolves face the Thunder. There are two reunions on Wednesday with Kevin Durant going back to Brooklyn for the first time since the trade last year and Damian Lillard's return to Portland where he spent all of his career before being dealt to Milwaukee last summer.

(51:47) Not much happening in MLB. Do I get crazy about the Tigers signing one of their prospects to a 28.5 million dollar deal (INF Colt Keith) when we saw this earlier in the offseason with the Milwaukee Brewers?

(52:29) The first Grand Slam tournament in tennis has completed. Jannik Sinner had an Australian Open to remember. He not only beat Novak Djokovic in the semifinals, but came back down two sets to love in the final vs. Daniil Medvedev to win his first men's title 3-6, 3-6, 6-4, 6-4, 6-3. On the women's side, Aryna Sabalenka was victorious winning back to back titles (NOTE: I made the correction at the very end of the podcast. I stated that this was her first Aussie Open win. She's now won consecutive AO tournaments) to complete a very intriguing tournament overall, with the French up next in the spring.

Lamar's Time, Chiefs Title Defense, Lions Destiny, Shanahan Pressure In AFC/NFC Title Games. Harbaugh's Presence In LA. Can Doc Save The Bucks? Oilers On Notice. MLB HOF Inductees

Another venture into the sports universe with yours truly as I share the latest episode with plenty to dive into. On deck:

(2:50) We're just days away from the AFC & NFC Championship Games. I'm going with a different tact to uncover the perspective of each team heading into Sunday's games. Is this Lamar Jackson's time to take his team to the promised land? Are the Chiefs playing with house money as a defending champion? Will the Lions finally get to their first Super Bowl with destiny, possibly on their side? And how much pressure is on Niners coach, Kyle Shanahan, to get back to and win the whole thing? I'll get into all of that and share my analysis of what may come as we're one step closer to Super Bowl LVIII. There's big news coming out of LA as Jim Harbaugh is the new Chargers coach. Will his presence not only bring them back to respectability, but also become an elite team in the sport? And what's the latest with Bill Belichick? Is he going to end up in Atlanta? Why did they ask for a second interview?

(30:06) The Milwaukee Bucks have had an interesting week. The front office dismissed first year coach Adrian Griffin due to their ineptitude on defense. They bring in Doc Rivers as a replacement. Is he the right guy for this job? The Heat make a good trade (Terry Rozier) but is he a fit for the Heat Culture in Miami? What about the championship aspirations for the Minnesota Timberwolves, as well as, the Oklahoma City Thunder? I know we're just past the halfway point of the season, but are they in this for the long haul? How about the Phoenix Suns moving up the standings out West? And Joel Embiid's 70 point game the other night are some of the things I unpack as I check on what's happening in the Association.

(42:48) On the ice, the Edmonton Oilers are clicking on all cylinders, winners of 14 in a row. At some point they'll cool off, but can this team make some noise and become a Cup contender? Vancouver, Winnipeg and Colorado have played well during this recent stretch. And there's an accusation of a handful NHL players involved in an alleged sexual assault dating back to 2018 which has a bad optic at the moment as I'll bring the latest of what's going on in the NHL.

(50:01) We're down to the final few days of the Australian Open. On the men's side, Carlos Alcaraz has been beaten by Daniil Medvedev in four sets, thwarting another opportunity to have an epic showdown with Novak Djokovic. Was that a blow to the tennis fan? As for the women's side, Coco Gauff was unable to win back to back Grand Slams as she lost to Aryna Sabalenka in the semifinals. Is it tough for the US tennis fan to not have much to root for? I'll stay on top of who'll win down under as we'll revisit this on Monday's podcast.

(53:07) The Baseball Writers of America (BBWA) have elected Adrian Beltre, Joe Mauer and Todd Helton, leaving out Billy Wagner, Gary Sheffield among others. Did they choose the right three guys? Who belongs? Who doesn't?

Chiefs Heart/Mahomes Greatness. Bills Gut Punch. Lamar Delivers. 49ers Escape & Detroit Rock City Wraps Divisional Round. NBA Slog At Halfway Point. Isles Hire WHO As Coach? Hader Lands In Houston

Here to unpack all that has taken place in the sports world the past few days and beyond, you've come to the right place to get your fill on all that's transpired. On deck:

(2:58) And then there were four. A thrilling Divisional Round in the NFL capped off by another Bills-Chiefs showdown where Kansas City guts out a 27-24 road win in Patrick Mahomes first ever playoff road game. I'll discuss their toughness, grit and the greatness of the Chief quarterback, who I think is already a Hall of Fame QB. As for the Bills, it was another bitter disappointing playoff defeat for a fan base seeking their first Super Bowl win. Is it time to make some significant changes to their roster in order to get to the mountaintop? The Baltimore Ravens showed why they were the best team in the AFC. They stormed out of the locker room at halftime to run the Houston Texans out of the building in a 34-10 win. The 49ers dodged a serious missile as Brock Purdy showed he can anchor a game winning drive down more than a field goal in a 24-21 win. And give it up to the Detroit Lions who make their first conference championship in 33 years as they hung on to beat a very game Buccaneers team. The Final Four are set. Chiefs-Ravens. Lions-49ers. I'll get into those two games on Thursday's podcast as we have just THREE more NFL games left on the schedule.

(32:59) The latest in the NBA over the past three weeks have been relatively quiet. What is there to assess? What is there to address? Trae Young's concussion. RJ Barrett & Immanuel Quickley returning to MSG as members of the Raptors? I'll dig up what I can as teams are just about or past the halfway point of their season.

(41:00) On the ice, my beloved NY Islanders made a shocking move. Not by firing coach Lane Lambert, but hiring legendary goaltender Patrick Roy patrolling the team. Is this a good move by this underachieving squad? Ironically, Marc-Andre Fleury surpassed the aforementioned netminder to become the second all time winningest goalie in NHL history. And the Edmonton Oilers continue to be the hottest team in the sport, winners of a bakers dozen (13 games) as they are STILL six points behind the second place Vegas Golden Knights in the Pacific Division. I'll peruse what else is going on in the NHL as they're just a couple of weeks away from the All-Star Break.

(51:00) We're into the second week of the Australian Open. The men's side has been chalk to date, but on the women's side, there have been plenty of upsets including #1 seeded Iga Swiatek over the weekend. This sets up Coco Gauff to win back to back Grand Slams dating back to the US Open last year. I'll keep you guys and gals abreast of her and everyone else's progress on the next podcast as the tournament goes deeper into the week.

(53:23) Another big time MLB free agent has been signed, with still a few more (i.e. Blake Snell, Jordan Montgomery, Cody Bellinger and Matt Chapman, et. al) to go. Closer Josh Hader signed a five year deal with the Houston Astros. Does this make them the favorite to go back to not just the ALCS, but World Series?

Cowboys Collapse. Is Mike McCarthy On Hot Seat? CJ Stroud's Rising Stock. Chiefs Primed For Super Run? Celebration In Detroit. NBA & NHL Halfway Point: Who's Watching? Osaka Ousted At Aussie Open

On another Monday holiday, this time honoring the late, great Dr. Martin Luther King as I share my thoughts on all that the sports world has to offer as the latest edition is forthcoming. On deck:

(3:05) You had another Not So Super Wild Card Weekend as three of the four games fell short. It's another long offseason in Dallas as the Cowboys were a complete no show at home vs. the Packers in a 48-32 defeat. What will come out from this as Jerry Jones has lots to answer to after a bitter defeat against the #7 in the conference. Will head coach Mike McCarthy survive this? I'll tell you what I would do if I were the Cowboys owner as they'll have to wait another season for a shot at an elusive Super Bowl appearance. I'll also get into the rise of CJ Stroud and his performance vs. the Browns. The Chiefs dominant against a depleted Dolphins team. Are they primed for another Super Bowl run? And a celebration in Detroit as the Lions win their first playoff game in over three decades over a feisty Rams team. Plus, there are two playoff games today that I'll touch on (Steelers-Bills, Eagles-Buccaneers) as Super Wild Card Weekend comes to a close later today. CORRECTION: In discussing the Lions win over the Rams, I mixed up that the Lions, not the Rams, hung on for dear life at the end of the game. My apologies for the faux pas.

(30:59) Both the NBA & NHL are just about or past the halfway point of their long seasons respectively. You can also through college basketball into the mix. Is anyone REALLY paying attention or watching, considering that there hasn't been much buzz here to start off the 2024 year?

(48:49) Pitchers and catchers are a month away, baseball fans. There have been a few transactions regarding pitchers (notably Yankees signing Marcus Stroman & Cubs signing Japanese lefty Shota Imanaga) What about the bigger stars (i.e. Blake Snell, Cody Bellinger, Josh Hader, Matt Chapman) that have been on no teams radar to date?

(53:17) The first Grand Slam of the tennis year has arrived as the Australian Open has commenced down under. There's already been a defeat of a big name on the women's side (i.e. Naomi Osaka) just a day into the tournament. I'll preview as to what we could possibly expect over the next two weeks as tennis is a part of our consciousness just three weeks into the New Year.
