(3:59) I start off with a shameless plug (for those who watch and follow me on my YouTube channel @JAYREELZ) as I posted a new vlog detailing my 1,000 subscribers before getting a haircut update, which is testing my accountability and patience, but not what you may think!

(4:41) NOTE: I made a mention that in the Stanley Cup Playoffs, the two West matchups that have a Game 1 tonight (Vegas-Dallas & LA-Edmonton) were Vegas-Edmonton and LA-Dallas. A terrible FAUX PAS on my part, but I did catch myself JUST IN TIME when I preview in the NHL segment. My apologies for the egregious error. THANKFULLY, I caught it as I was able to pivot and discuss the RIGHT series and not what I thought it was! NOW…Game 1’s in the NBA first round of the playoffs are in the books. No surprises as the home teams won all of them. Does this bode well for the big underdogs (ex. Sixers, Heat, Lakers, in particular) heading into Game 2? I’ll go through each series and how this could play out over the course of the next few days? I’ll get into the Knicks grit over Philadelphia. The Heat’s Caleb Martin’s bump on Celtics Jayson Tatum. The Bucks solid win without Giannis. The T-Wolves maturity? How the Suns have a lot to answer to, despite a lack of depth? James Harden’s proclamation after GM 1. The Lakers shot vs. the defending champs and much more!

(25:01) You had the same theme in the NHL as six of the eight series has begun, where the home team was victorious. Can the Islanders and Capitals get back in their series? The wild opening game in Winnipeg with the Jets vs. Avalanche. Boston dominating the Maple Leafs. Vancouver showing resolve against Nashville. And after my huge error thinking it was Vegas-Oilers and Kings-Stars, I’ll share my prediction on who’ll come out of the Vegas-Stars and Kings-Oilers series.

(41:34) Baseball is creeping toward the first month of their season. What is stark at the moment? The difference between the good teams and the very BAD teams. There are a number of teams that have been awful to date. Colorado, Miami, Oakland even Houston is off to a 7-16 start. How about the White Sox at 3-18? 3-18!!! I’ll unpack how the MLB could be in for a long summer with the disparity between the haves and have nots.

(54:04) Draftniks & draft geeks are pumped up as the NFL Draft is on Thursday. I’ll tease what the outlook of the first five or six picks of the draft may go as it’s a quarterback heavy top of the draft where Chicago (for sure), Washington (very likely) and New England (well, maybe or maybe not) will look to change the fortune of their franchises and select Caleb Williams from USC, Jayden Daniels from LSU and Drake Maye from UNC, quite possibly in that order.

It's been a busy past few days in the sports world and it's evident because I've got plenty to unpack as the latest podcast is here for consumption. On deck:

(2:52) With Week 15 in the NFL just about here, there were plenty of newsworthy items over the past few days. Starting off with the inevitable firing of coach Bill Belichick in New England. Is it a possibility? A probability? It's been a couple of rough weeks for the Pittsburgh Steelers of late. One of its best players in their teams history (QB, Ben Roethlisberger) has called out the organization as far as their tradition might be past them, as well as, taking shots at the head coach, Mike Tomlin, along the way. Is he accurate? Out of line? The NFL is going to expand their international reach as they're looking to have Brazil host a game next year. Is this an exercise of futility? Is this necessary? There's some news regarding the officiating front where the commissioner and VP of football operations have come out in light of the call in Kansas City on Sunday, where WR Kadarius Toney was in the neutral zone prior to the touchdown that gave the Chiefs the lead. What was said during those discussions and what may change? Oh! I'll preview a super busy schedule, which now adds Saturday to the mix with just about every game having playoff implications. I'll also pay respects to former Titans TE, Frank Wycheck, who passed away tragically last weekend at the age of 52.

(36:21) The Association has had some eventful moments the past 48 hours or so. Bucks forward, Giannis Antetokounmpo scored a career high 64 points last night vs. Indiana. How he acted after the game in searching for the game ball as a keepsake was a complete overreaction? Then you had Warriors Draymond Green suspended indefinitely for striking Suns Jusuf Nurkic on Tuesday night. As tired as his act has been throughout his career, was this too extreme? Will the Spurs ever win again? Of course they will, but they've lost 18 games in a row. Is there a chance they can snap their streak before the weekend is out?

(47:20) Off the ice, the St. Louis Blues fired their head coach Craig Berube. And what's this about the owner of the Washington Capitals & NBA Wizards, Ted Leonsis, wanting to move his teams to Northern Virginia by the end of the decade? On the ice, the Edmonton Oilers have been bulldozing the competition after a very slow start as they've won eight straight.

(53:34) Who would've thought that we're almost a week since the news of Shohei Ohtani signing his whopping $700 million dollar contract with the Dodgers, that it's still making waves. Whether it's the $680 million dollars deferred after 2033, an opt out that's rather odd and what this does for the team's luxury tax? Quite a bit to unpack as this MLB Hot Stove has been rather cool, even with the Giants (who made an offer to Ohtani similar to what the Dodgers did) signed Korean outfielder Jung Hoo Lee to a six year/113 million dollar deal.

Ushering in November with some sizzling analysis (Episode 97) as I take you through the sports universe. Here’s what I got for you.

The disasters in New York (Jets) and Cleveland as both Adam Gase and Freddie Kitchens are feeling the heat in their first season as head coach. The Niners are the last undefeated team standing in the NFL. I’ll discuss how far they can take their streak, plus go around the league to chime about the Patriots first loss and other storylines throughout Week 9.

The Washington Nationals won their first World Series in historic fashion by winning all four games on the road. I’ll put a nice ribbon on their magic carpet ride, as well as, what the Astros did wrong, particularly in Game 7. I’ll also get into some of the top free agents on the market this off-season. And, of course, my insight on the new Met manager, Carlos Beltran, that you don’t want to miss.

I’ll share some thoughts on the NBA where there was a high scoring affair between the Rockets vs. Wizards, Stephen Curry’s broken hand and Joel Embiid is up to his stupid tactics yet again.

Bold two point conversions. Ben Roethlisberger done for the season. How will his backup, Mason Rudolph, fare in getting a ton of the playing time? And much more as I go around the league.

The Mets playoff hopes are hanging by a thread with 13 games to go as they trail by four games in the NL Wild Card race. Can they pull off a miracle and make it to October? I'll explain why Pete Alonso is the future of this team and what should've been for a former Met who received early accolades, but never panned out to what we thought he'd become. Also, an up to the minute AL/NL Wild Card update and the hunt for baseballs' best record is on the line between the Yankees, Astros and Dodgers.

The US Men's Basketball team took a big hit in the FIBA World Cup as they finished in seventh place for the tournament. Is this cause for concern with the Olympics slated for next summer? I'll get into that, plus my Hero and Zero of the Week.

In fourteen NFL cities this morning, either they're setting up the Super Bowl parade route or ready to draft for the number one pick. But there are two excpetions. I'll explain. I'll also go around the league and assess the damage up in Foxborough as the Steelers no showed vs. the Patriots.

The Mets have put their postseason hopes in the trash after a brutal loss in Washington and losing two out of three vs. Philadelphia. Mickey Callaway may have seen his managerial position go out the window with some very questionable moves this week. I have plenty of ammunition on this and I'll also recap the latest in the AL & NL Wild Card races.

Rafael Nadal has inched closer in his quest to catch Roger Federer for most Mens' Grand Slam titles. Serena Williams has now lost back to back Wimbledon and US Open Finals as she's stuck on 23 Grand Slam victories. Hear my take on both legendary figures and what may lie ahead in 2020 now that the Tennis Slams are done for the year.

I’m closing out the month of February in strong fashion as I deliver all that’s happening in the world of sports on this edition of The JAYREELZ Podcast. Manny Machado has finally found a home in San Diego. With all players reporting for spring training, there is still one big fish out there not signed to a major league contract. Will Bryce Harper come to agreement with the Phillies who are hot on his trail? Or possibly the Dodgers, as they’ve stepped into the mix to procure the former MVP? You’ll get my up to the minute analysis on where this road may lead to and why I believe Philadelphia shouldn’t be a destination for the former National. All of the talk last week in college basketball was the injury to Duke’s ballyhooed freshman, Zion Williamson. It sparked a national debate on whether he should sit out for the rest of the season and enter the NBA Draft, how college players should be paid, etc. But I’ll give you the real reason why this is a story at all and I’ll point the finger as to who is the culprit in all of this mess. Then you have the developments of Friday’s charge to New England Patriots owner, Robert Kraft of soliciting a prostitute in a massage parlor in Florida. There’s still more to come with this story, but I’ll share firsthand why we shouldn’t jump the gun on prosecuting Mr. Kraft, but also should’ve known that this firestorm was going to come whether or not he’s guilty. And while I’m on the subject, I’ll go through the list of finalists for the Pro Football Hall of Fame, which will be announced later in the week and share who’s a lock and who’s not worthy? Plus, you have the three All-Star Games over the next three weeks for the NFL, NHL and NBA. Does it matter? Does anyone really care? And with Anthony Davis requesting a trade out of New Orleans, what teams will be involved? Will it happen before the trade deadline on February 7th? The stage is set for the big game in two weeks. I’m here to provide how both the Los Angeles Rams and New England Patriots got there, plus all of the latest in the world of sports on this edition of The JAYREELZ Podcast. The NFL hit a grand slam on Championship Sunday with epic overtime games in New Orleans & Kansas City. The Rams were able to eke out an win, but not without controversy. The officials admittedly blew a key third down call late in the game that will have lasting effects throughout the offseason. You’ll get my take on why that call wasn’t the reason the Saints lost and why pass interference calls should NOT be reviewed. The Patriots do it again. They’ve made their fourth Super Bowl in five years, five in eight and nine in eighteen during the Brady/Belichick era. I’ll share what put the Pats over the top and how Brady’s magic and Belichick’s mastery sealed another trip to the Super Bowl. Also, what this loss means for the Chiefs moving forward? I’ll get into a few of the storylines heading into the week before the Super Bowl and shed some early light on the game. There are some other sports news to touch on including the hottest teams not just in New York, but in the NBA & NHL with the Nets and Islanders, respectively. We’re starting to feel the winter chill throughout the nation, but I'll keep you warm with all that’s going on in the world of sports on this weeks edition of The JAYREELZ Podcast. The NFL postseason is down to the final four. It wasn’t the best of weekends the NFL had in the divisional round. I’ll review all four games, preview the Conference Title Games with the Rams vs. Saints, followed by Patriots vs. Chiefs and what would be the best Super Bowl matchup come February 3rd in Atlanta. I’ll also chime in on the Jets new coaching hire, Adam Gase, the rest of the NFL teams who have employed new head coaches over the past week and the latest in the Antonio Brown saga in Pittsburgh. I’ll briefly touch on the National Championship Game demolition in College Football last week as Clemson smacked Alabama to win their second title in three years. I’ll also touch on news regarding Manny Machado as there is an offer on the table from the Chicago White Sox. Is he stalling, waiting for the Yankees to swoop in and make an offer? What’s going on with Bryce Harper as well? Plus, the Mets and Yankees continue to fine tune their rosters with somewhat surprising moves. I’ll close with what’s happening with the Lakers and Celtics in the NBA. Both teams have hit the skids, but for different reasons altogether. As we get closer to closing out 2018, the sports world continues to shine as we get into all of what it has to offer on this weeks edition of The JAYREELZ Podcast. NFL Week 15 surely didn’t mirror all of the excitement and drama as it did the week before, but you had thrilling finishes in Kansas City, Pittsburgh and Los Angeles which impacted playoff implications throughout the league. I’ll recap the meaningful games for teams jockeying for seeding and position in both conferences, including the Steelers slaying the Patriots dragon to keep their lead in the AFC North for another week. I’ll touch on the Jets and Giants as both teams suffer losses as they close out the string in this lost season. The Mets have added a catcher, but not the one that’s been rumored over the past few weeks. I’ll share my thoughts on who the Amazin’s brought in and what could possibly be their next move.
