Madness Begins With Final 4 & Title Predictions. Morant's Weak Suspension. NHL Canes Take Another Hit. NFL Free Agency: Rodgers Saga. Yanks Owner & Judge: BFF's? Diaz Hurt As Mets Lose Again

Let the Madness begin! Not just in college basketball, but other things happening in sports that has me crazy at the moment. On deck:

(2:53) I'm in a foul sports mood, so I'm on edge with a couple of scenarios that have come about in the last two days.

(3:38) The Sports Dead Zone, Part 1 has now concluded as we raise the curtain on the NCAA Tournament as we get set for a frantic four days leading into the Sweet Sixteen. I'll predict who'll make it to the Final Four. Which teams will play for the National Championship? And who'll cut down the nets when it's all said and done?

(20:46) As the lowly Houston Rockets have had some surprising wins this week over the Celtics and Lakers, the big story is the eight game suspension handed down by the NBA to Grizzlies guard, Ja Morant. Why this was a weak attempt at sending a message throughout the league as this was a retroactive suspension at best. I'll take a look at what's going on throughout the Association when it comes to teams jockeying for playoff positioning.

(26:41) On the ice, the NHL has been quiet for the most part. The Hurricanes lose a key player who is done for the year (Andrei Svechnikov) as I'll update the latest in the division and wild card races in both conferences.

(32:13) The business year for the NFL has opened. There's been plenty of player movement over the past week. I'll highlight the Aaron Rodgers saga, him wanting to come to New York, the 'demands' if he became a Jet and not if, but when, will this deal take place? Jimmy Garoppolo has found a new home in Las Vegas with his former offensive coordinator, Josh McDaniels. I thought this was a good move for the Raiders, but it comes with a huge caveat. I'll run through some of the hot topics ranging from Ezekiel Elliott, Baker Mayfield, JuJu Smith-Schuster, Lamar Jackson's latest development regarding his contract. Quite a bit to digest as The Shield continues make waves in the sports world as their off-season is just getting started. I was remiss not to mention on the previous podcast that former Vikings coach Bud Grant passed away last week at the age of 95.

(47:38) As I close out with baseball, both New York teams are front and center. Yankees owner Hal Steinbrenner has become BFF's with reigning MVP Aaron Judge, to the point that his star player has input on renovation to the teams spring training complex. Are you kidding? Then you have Mets closer Edwin Diaz after putting out the fire vs. the Dominican Republic in the World Baseball Classic, injures his leg while CELEBRATING Puerto Rico's win to advance. Who knows the extent of his injury, but it sure doesn't look good as Met fans everywhere, including yours truly, are surely sick over this.

The 'Not Too High or Too Low' Theme From NFL Week 1, Except? Steelers 'Not Ready For Primetime', Mets 'Not Ready For Postseason' Tirades, MLB Wild Card Latest, Rafa Wins, Serena Loses AGAIN at US Open

I'm in a feisty, awful sports mood, so hide the women and children, because Episode 90 promises to be full of smoke and fire. On deck:

In fourteen NFL cities this morning, either they're setting up the Super Bowl parade route or ready to draft for the number one pick. But there are two excpetions. I'll explain. I'll also go around the league and assess the damage up in Foxborough as the Steelers no showed vs. the Patriots.

The Mets have put their postseason hopes in the trash after a brutal loss in Washington and losing two out of three vs. Philadelphia. Mickey Callaway may have seen his managerial position go out the window with some very questionable moves this week. I have plenty of ammunition on this and I'll also recap the latest in the AL & NL Wild Card races.

Rafael Nadal has inched closer in his quest to catch Roger Federer for most Mens' Grand Slam titles. Serena Williams has now lost back to back Wimbledon and US Open Finals as she's stuck on 23 Grand Slam victories. Hear my take on both legendary figures and what may lie ahead in 2020 now that the Tennis Slams are done for the year.

Plus, my Hero and Zero of the Week.

'Am I Sucked In?' The Life Of Being A Met Fan & The NL Wild Card Chase In 2019

115 down. 47 to go. Three weeks ago, no Met fan could ever imagine this. Tomorrow (Friday) night, the race for the NL Wild Card commences as the Mets host the #1 WC seeded (at the moment) Washington Nationals in a three game series. If you're a baseball fan, a tortured, diehard fan of any team, but especially a Met fan, this is a podcast you won't want to miss.

On this special edition (Episode 84) of The JAYREELZ Podcast, I'll preview the upcoming series and ask the question, 'Are you sucked in?' The rallying cry for this franchise from famed Met closer of the 1973 team, Tug McGraw, is 'Ya Gotta Believe!' I'm not speaking for the fan base, but I have a good grasp of what the majority thinks. More importantly, I’ll provide in-depth analysis of whether or not this team will be one of the last two wild card teams standing in the NL? Or it'll end in bitter disappointment, which more often than not, is usually the case.

NBA Offseason Frenzy Has Begun (AD to Lakers, NY/BK's Pursuit of KD, Draft, Rumors) Blues Win Cup, Yanks Questionable Trade? Mets Bullpen Implosion, Brooks Falls Short at US Open

The NBA Finals just ended, but the offseason is already proving that it's going to be wild and crazy as Episode 76 will provide the following:

The Anthony Davis trade to the Lakers. Who is the winner and loser of this deal?

Should the Knicks or Nets pursue Kevin Durant? What will the Knicks do on draft night?  Plus, the aftermath of Klay Thompson's injury and the future of the Warriors.

I'll recap the Blues historic Stanley Cup run. Does home ice/court/field matter in sports? The NHL Draft is Friday. Why the Devils and Rangers will be forever linked with who they select come Friday night?

The Yankees trade for another right-handed slugger. Why I disagree with the move? And why wasn't a starting pitcher involved instead?

The Mets bullpen continues to be inflammable. The latest debacle of relief futility, plus, their upcoming season defining road trip to Atlanta, Chicago (Cubs) and Philadelphia.

A recap of Gary Woodland's US Open victory over Brooks Koepka.

My Hero and Zero of the Week.

Steelers Sliding, NFL Week 13 Review. NCAA FB Final Four. NY Mets: The Good, The Bad & The Ugly. NBA & NHL News

The final month of 2018 starts off with a bang in the world of sports as yours truly has it all covered on this weeks edition of The JAYREELZ Podcast. The Jets season has reached its’ nadir, squandering a fourth quarter lead en route to their sixth straight loss at Tennessee. Who’s to blame for this recent disaster? Will Sam Darnold play again this year? Is Todd Bowles coaching his way out of NY? Will Gang Green win another game the rest of the way? The Giants almost squandered a 10 point lead with less than two minutes remaining but held on in OT to upset the Bears at home. Is Eli Manning playing his final few games in a Giant uniform? What about Odell Beckham’s comments after he didn’t stretch out for the ball during an onside kick? I’ll get into all of that, AND, the debacle in Pittsburgh as the Steelers gagged a double digit lead in the second half at home on primetime vs. the Chargers. I’ll call out what went wrong, who were the scapegoats and why there’s no chance that the Black and Gold will secure a first round bye. Plus, the rest of the Week 13 slate in the NFL. There was another wild finish to an Alabama-Georgia college football championship, this time for the conference as the Crimson Tide comeback yet again, to break the hearts of the bulldogs 35-28. I’ll delve into the biggest play of the game and set our sights on the final four to determine who’ll play for the National Championship on January 7th. The Mets have put themselves on the back page the past week. I’ll dissect their front office and coaching staff upgrade, the major trade that brought Robinson Cano & Edwin Diaz to NY and look into my crystal ball for a possible not so pleasant immediate future regarding personnel on this current roster. I’ll also touch on some NBA & NHL news and some information regarding my next podcast. There’s plenty to get your sports appetite satiated, so dig in on this weeks episode of The JAYREELZ Podcast.(Episode 42)
