Pack Attack, Bills Mafia, Mahomes's Health & Brady's Back. Divisional Recap. AFC/NFC Title Previews. Alabama: Greatest Team Ever? The Layers Of James Harden To BK. The Return Of Conor McGregor!

As we celebrate the late, great Dr. Martin Luther King, if your dream is to listen to top notch, fast paced sports talk, then you’ve come to the right place as Episode 174 is primed to deliver. On deck:

(3:11) The Packers take care of business. The Bills swarm Lamar Jackson. The Chiefs escape, but not without losing star QB, Patrick Mahomes and Tom Brady is back in another Championship game setting. I’ll preview Conference Championship Sunday with some burning questions that need to be answered. Is this the end for Drew Brees? Will Urban Meyer cut it in Jacksonville? Has Deshaun Watson played his last game in Houston?

(45:03) Are the 2020 Alabama Crimson Tide the best college football team ever? I have a team that’s just ahead of them in my book. I’ll explain.

(47:49) The many layers of the James Harden trade to Brooklyn. His behavior and subsequent exit from Houston? Did the Nets sell their souls to NBA hell? Where and how does Kyrie Irving fit in? Is Harden clutch enough in the postseason? I’ll share a few other newsworthy notes throughout the Association as well.

(1:03:46) I’ll spend a second on how former Georgetown guard Mac McClung has made an impact at his new school with Texas Tech?

(1:04:17) The NHL season is five days old and the Dallas Stars have yet to play a game because of the coronavirus! Also, the two game series schedule could either bolster the league (i.e. think rivalries) or bottom out (playing the same teams over and over)?

(1:06:39) The MLB Hot Stove has been predominantly cool, but there were a couple of big signings, especially in the Bronx with DJ LaMahieu and two time Cy Young award winner, Corey Kluber. I’ll share my thoughts on that.

(1:09:57) Guess who’s back? After a brief retirement, Conor McGregor is scheduled to fight on Saturday vs. Dustin Poirier. Does anyone care?

(1:11:52) Plus, my Hero and Zero of the Week.

Colts Conundrum, Ravens Revenge, Steelers Stinker & The Rest Of NFL Wild Card Weekend, 'Bama-Buckeye Preview, NBA Confronts COVID, Mets/Lindor: Series Bound? NHL Raises Curtain

Settling into the New Year while I dissect the sports universe as Episode 173 is ready for takeoff! On deck:

(3:23) Not the wildest of Wild Card weekends that the NFL was hoping for, but tons to delve into on the Colts unable to capitalize in Buffalo, the Rams ‘D’ thwart Russell Wilson and the Seahawks, Washington QB Taylor Heinecke upstages the Buccaneers victory. The Ravens get some payback, the Saints were slow, yet methodical in the second half vs. the Bears (also Nickolodeon, NFL? Really?) And the debacle in Pittsburgh as they dug themselves a big hole that they couldn’t get out of vs. the Browns. I’ll also take the temperature of the Steeler organization after another putrid home playoff performance. A State of the Union, if you will on their free agents, Big Ben close to the end? Coach Mike Tomlin’s postseason record and more, that any Steeler fan wouldn’t want to miss. Plus, my Divisional Round preview with predictions, coaching news and Deshaun Watson’s frustration in Houston.

(59:49) A preview of tonight’s National Title Game between Ohio State vs. Alabama. What will it take for the Buckeyes to upset the Crimson Tide? Also, an apology to Heisman Trophy winner, DeVonta Smith.

(1:02:51) The NBA confronting with coronavirus running through the league. Is there a possible pause to the season forthcoming? The Clippers latest collapse and LaMelo Ball’s record setting achievement.

(1:08:24) Breaking down the NCAA’s decision to keep the entire March Madness tournament in the state of Indiana.

(1:10:25) An NHL season begins on Wednesday with news on the realigned divisions being sponsored. A retirement from a Stanley Cup winning goaltender and a thought of who I feel will be in the Stanley Cup Final?

(1:17:15) The Mets trade for star infielder, Francisco Lindor. Does that make the Mets Series contenders? Is he the final piece to the puzzle? Kyle Schwarber finds a home and what happened in LA with the Angels and their former clubhouse attendant, providing doctored baseballs to opposing pitchers?

(1:24:07) Lastly, my Hero and Zero of the Week.

NFL Finish Line, Winners & Losers, Wild Card Storylines & Preview, 'Bama & Buckeyes Dominate, MLB's 'Not' Stove/Message To Mets Fans, Clips George Hears 'Chirping', Toews/Zdeno NHL News

Starting off the New Year in, what else, fiery fashion as I deliver all of what the sports universe has to offer as Episode 172 gets us off and running. On deck:

(3:23) The NFL crosses the regular season finish line, with kudos going out to Roger Goodell and company for completing the season in the world of the coronavirus. I’ll touch on everything from the AFC Wild Card games being superior to the NFC. Week 17 winners & losers, Black Monday for NFL head coaches, storylines heading into Wild Card weekend, with a word on both the Chiefs and Packers. A preview of the six Wild Card matchups with predictions and much more.

(47:36) I’ll recap the College Football playoff semifinal as, quite frankly, there was nothing to write home about as Alabama dispose of Notre Dame and Ohio St. dismantles Clemson. I’ll take an early look at the National Title Game to be played next Monday evening.

(55:44) Time to start the clock on pitchers & catchers reporting to Spring Training, but the MLB Hot Stove is still as cold as a January day. What gives? Although the Padres continue to bolster their rotation by bringing in Yu Darvish. Are they thisclose to competing with the Dodgers in the NL West? As for the Mets, I’ll have to bring the fan base off of the ledge as there’s good reason why owner, Steve Cohen, has laid low during the free agency period.

(1:02:58) The NBA for the most part has been quiet. Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving didn’t come through in the clutch, Steph Curry is in familiar form and Paul George is hearing a ‘lot of chirping’ from his breathren throughout the league. I’ll get into all of that.

(1:06:07) Kentucky finally wins an NCAA basketball game. In double OT, with their Coach John Calipari ejected!

(1:07:17) The NHL season raises its curtain next week as a couple of their big stars (Chicago’s Jonathan Toews and new Washington Capitals D, Zdeno Chara) are discussed in regards to their health and new surroundings, respectively.

Former NHL D/RW Daryl Stanley On His Journey To The League, Playing In Philadelphia, The Famous Pregame Brawl In Montreal & More

The final podcast of 2020 is a wonderful in-depth conversation with former NHL defenseman/winger of Philadelphia Flyers and Vancouver Canucks, Daryl Stanley. He joins me to discuss growing up in Winnipeg, Manitoba, playing in the Western Hockey League as a teenager, his journey to Philadelphia as an undrafted player, a near fatal car accident that put his career in jeopardy, getting to and playing in the Stanley Cup Finals in 1987 and the famous pre-game brawl in the Conference Finals of that year against the Montreal Canadiens. We also touch on his influences, favorite player growing up, toughest player he ever fought and much more. It was an insightful and engaging discussion from one of the more rugged players of his era. I couldn’t think of a better way to close out this year than to have a special guest like Daryl connecting with me to share his hockey life.

To see for yourself about that aforementioned pre-game tussle, click here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v6YX5vFUTeQ

Here’s an extensive article on what took place that you can read here: https://thefangrave.wordpress.com/2015/05/13/philadelphia-montreal-the-pregame-brawl-to-end-all-brawls-5-14-87/

I have a last minute post Christmas gift for you under the tree as I share my thoughts on everything happening in the world of sports as Episode 170 is ready to be unwrapped. On deck:

(2:45) A few words of encouragement as we close out this unforgettable year.

(6:10) My Week 16 winners and losers, highlighted by the Dolphins surprise win in Vegas. Jacksonville winning despite another loss. The Washington Football Team have given the Cowboys and Giants life for one more week. Indianapolis’s collapse in Pittsburgh (with some insight on the Steelers comeback) and all of the up to the minute playoff races in the AFC & NFC.

(40:21) A College Football Playoff Preview. Will Alabama lose? Can Notre Dame pull off a huge upset? Will we see a carbon copy of Clemson-Ohio State semifinal from a year ago?

(48:25) The Rays have a proposed trade of their one time ace, Blake Snell, to be shipped to San Diego for prospects. Despite their resourcefulness, why this isn’t a move Rays fans should like? Also, have the Mets engaged in a tug-of-war with the Yankees for DJ LaMahieu? My thoughts on why the Mets SHOULD NOT go after him.

(57:09) The first five days of the NBA season are in the books. I’ll discuss a ho-hum Christmas schedule and what in the hell happened to the Clippers at home on Sunday, losing to the Mavericks by 51 POINTS?

(1:02:00) Some news and notes on Villanova coach, Jay Wright. Kentucky’s losing streak at six and Florida forward, Keyontae Johnson’s health.

(1:03:44) And the health of a former MVP in Tampa (Nikita Kucherov) and Vezina Trophy winner (Henrik Lundqvist).

Jets Win & Lose? A Chief Concern? Wentz Done In PHI? Is 'Bama Unbeatable? '20 NBA Preview. College B-Ball Wide Open. NHL Re-Aligns. MLB Hot Stove Silence

The Christmas holiday is upon us as I share all that’s naughty and nice in the sports universe, delivering Episode 169 under your tree! On deck:

(3:17) The winners and losers of Week 15 in the NFL. How are the Jets both a winner and loser simultaneously? The Cowboys are back in the NFC Least hunt. A ‘Chief’ concern as they defend their title? Is the Carson Wentz era done in Philadelphia? Those are a few of the many storylines that I tackle during this segment.

(42:00) A recap of the big three college football games over the weekend (Florida-Alabama, Clemson-Notre Dame and Ohio St.- Northwestern) Is Alabama unbeatable?

(57:17) The NBA season commences tomorrow. I’ll delve into the juicy storylines, including the competitive East and the top heavy West. A preview of the Celtics season. No NBA over/under win predictions? But I will tell you who’ll win the NBA Finals (and it’s not the Lakers!)

(1:15:26) Another top team in college basketball (#4 Michigan St) goes down. What’s going on with the Kentucky Wildcats? Also, why this upcoming March Madness (fingers crossed) will be the most wide open to date? And I have another wild prediction as to what kind of team will make it to the Final Four next year!

(1:19:13) The NHL season will begin next month. Divisions have been realigned in light of the coronavirus. Does it all make sense? A Canadian ‘North’ Division?

(1:23:42) All is quiet on the MLB Hot Stove front, but there is a little buzz on DJ LeMahieu’s standing with the New York Yankees. The Negro Leagues get their due with the MLB. Acknowledgement? It’s about time. But combining their stats with the major leagues? Hmmmm!

I’ve got plenty of sports tricks and treats to serve as I close out October in spooky style as Episode 161 is up and running. On deck:

(1:20:10) Bryson DeChambeau is your US Open champion. Why his style of play may be rubbing other players on the Tour the wrong way?

(1:26:56) Of course, I’ll have my Hero and Zero of the Week.

Clipper Collapse? Giannis Stays? Or Goes? NHL's Lackluster Playoffs, NFL Week 1 Winners & Losers, MLB Pennant Race Homestretch, Thiem/Osaka Win US Open

A whirlwind of sports chatter as I navigate the entire landscape for your edification as Episode #155 is set for take off. On deck:

(2:37) The Clippers are on the verge of a monumental collapse. Will they have what it takes to pull it out and make their first ever trip to the Conference Finals? Who’s to blame? The Lakers continue to dominate. The Heat are well rested, getting ready to prepare for a battle tested but weary Celtics team in the Eastern Conference Finals. I’ll preview that series. Also, will Giannis Antetekoumpo sign the supermax and stay in Milwaukee this off-season? And two coaching changes with teams ousted from the bubble in OKC and Houston.

(26:21) The NHL has had an underwhelming postseason to date with close out games expected for Dallas and Tampa Bay as they’re both one win away from going to the Stanley Cup Finals. I’ll map out why this has been a poor Stanley Cup Playoff and the game that the Islanders will ponder during the off-season that will have them kicking themselves in the rear end.

(35:29) I’ll recap Week 1 in the NFL with the winners (ARZ, GB & WSH) and losers (TB, DAL, CLE).

(50:37) I have a word on College Football as a couple of the major conferences kicked off their season.

(52:18) We’re getting into the homestretch of the MLB season. I’ll keep you abreast of the big series this week. Who has the inside track on securing a spot in the postseason and who’s on the outs?

(1:03:48) The US Open tennis tournament concluded in historic fashion as Dominic Thiem rallies from two sets down to win the mens championship. Was it a comeback for the ages? Or a complete choke job on his opponent, Alexander Zverev. On the womens side, Naomi Osaka wins her second US Open title in three years, defeating Victoria Azarenka in three sets.

(1:08:30) As the US Open tennis concludes, I’ll preview the US Open Golf which starts on Thursday. There are a couple of key performers who’ll be out at Winged Foot, but the field is stacked as the second leg of this truncated golf season is up next.

(1:12:20) Plus, my Hero and Zero of the Week.
