Dolphins Enormous Test In Baltimore. Russell Wilson Era Over In Denver? Early Preview Of College Football Playoff. Historically Bad Pistons Could Get Worse? NHL Winter Classic: Does Anyone Care?

Wrapping up another year of the podcast as I present the final episode of 2023 with all that's happening in sports. On deck:

(3:03) I have to start off with saying THANK YOU to those who've listened, followed and supported me over the past year and beyond. 2024 will be an epic one! That's a promise!

(3:53) With Monday being the first of the year, I'll produce and post a podcast as of right this moment. Stay tuned to my YouTube channel (link below) for any scheduling changes.

(4:39) This is an enormous week if you're the Miami Dolphins. They pay a visit to Baltimore in what will be a battle for the top seed in the AFC. Can the Dolphins finally get the respect and win a big road game? There's an interesting development that took place in Denver with the benching of Russell Wilson. Is this the last time we'll see the former Super Bowl winning QB in a Broncos uniform? I'll get into the other key matchups, what to look forward to in Week 17 as we're just ten days away from the conclusion of the regular season.

(29:50) The College Football Playoff is on the horizon. I'll delve into the top storylines heading into the doubleheader with Michigan-Arizona being the first game, followed by Texas-Washington in the nightcap. How much pressure is on the Wolverines to finally get to a championship game? Is Alabama playing with house money? Will Washington-Texas be a high scoring shootout?

(36:19) In the Association, the Detroit Pistons made history. They broke the all time losing streak of 26 games with a loss to Brooklyn on Tuesday night. Is it possible that they could break the all time record (9-73) by the 1972-73 Philadelphia 76ers? I'll see what else is going on throughout the NBA as we're still a few weeks away from the halfway point of the season.

(43:28) The NHL will have their day in the sun as they'll have their annual Winter Classic in Seattle on January 1st. Will anyone watch? Does anyone care? Plus, there was a Stanley Cup Final rematch last Saturday between the Vegas Golden Knights-Florida Panthers. Why didn't the league showcase or highlight this game? I'll have that and anything else that's happening on the ice.

(49:05) MLB has had a rather ice cold offseason (despite the Juan Soto trade to the Yankees and the Dodgers signing of Shohei Ohtani & Yoshinobu Yamamoto) There have been a few transactions over the past few days (including the Yankees trading another young, promising prospect), but little to no news about top free agents Blake Snell, Cody Bellinger and Jordan Montgomery, to name a few.

Ravens: NFL's Best? Dolphins Big Win. Latest Playoff Possibilities. NBA X-Mas Day Storylines. Pistons On Verge Of NBA History For Futility? A New Evil Empire: Dodgers Sign Yamamoto! Bad For Baseball?

Christmas may be over and out, but I have one last present to share as I've got aplenty to unpack with all that the sports world has to offer. On deck:

(3:08) Did the Baltimore Ravens make a statement to the rest of the NFL by obliterating the San Francisco 49ers offense last night and hold the key to the league's best team? I'll uncover that scenario, as well as, the Miami Dolphins winning a huge game against the Dallas Cowboys, which sets up a crucial AFC matchup with the Ravens for the #1 seed in the conference on Sunday. I'll go through all of the permutations of playoff possibilities when it comes to teams in the mix, on the fringe or those who are surviving by a thread as we're down to the final two weeks of the regular season.

(33:41) The NBA had their Christmas Day extravaganza with five games from 12 noon to 1am ET. There were a few intriguing storylines throughout the day. The Knicks outlasting the Bucks. Warriors coach Steve Kerr fuming at the refs over their treatment of Nuggets big man, Nikola Jokic. What about the Celtics beating the Lakers ? Or Luka putting up a 50 piece on the Phoenix Suns? And will we see history tonight if the Pistons lose their 27th consecutive game at home vs. Brooklyn?

(41:58) Not much is happening on the ice. Capitals winger, Alex Ovechkin did inch a little closer to Wayne Gretzky's all time goal scoring record after going through a long goal scoring drought (15 games). Break up my Islanders as they've moved up the standings in the Metropolitan Division, currently behind the Rangers for first place.

(44:10) Baseball has a new Evil Empire. Last year, it was the New York Mets. This year, it's the Los Angeles Dodgers. They've signed Shohei Ohtani to a record contract. They acquired Rays starting pitcher, Tyler Glasnow to an $135 million dollar extension. Now, they've added prized starter from Japan, Yoshinobu Yamamoto to a 12 year/$325 million dollar deal. Is this another bad blow for a sport with no salary cap?

Cowboys-Dolphins: Mirror Images Of Each Other? A Bills Uprising In AFC? Ravens-Niners X-Mas Battle. Can Ja Morant Save Grizzlies? NBA X-Mas Schedule. My Offer To Yamamoto. MLB Hot Stove Ice Cold

I'm making my list and checking it twice...you know the drill people, with Christmas on the horizon and winter officially here, I'll provide some entertainment to keep you warm, fuzzy and maybe even a laugh or two along the way as the latest podcast is under your tree. On deck:

(2:52) After wishing you all a very Merry Christmas and happy holiday season, as well as, an update as to when the next podcast is with the 25th being on Monday (you'll have to check my YouTube channel, link below, as we get closer). There are a couple of juicy storylines heading into Week 16 in the NFL. First up, are the Dallas Cowboys heading to Miami this weekend to see if they can finally win a big road game against a good opponent. If so, would you be convinced they can do so in January? As for the Dolphins, who in my opinion, are a mirror image to the Cowboys as a team with a big offense unable to beat quality, elite competition. It makes for an intriguing matchup to see who'll get a leg up in the playoff race in their respective conferences. Next up, are the Buffalo Bills. They've resuscitated their playoff hopes after big wins vs. Kansas City and Dallas. Can they continue their torrid stretch and maybe catch the Dolphins in the AFC East? You have a battle of the two best teams in the league where the AFC leading Ravens will visit the NFC leading 49ers on Christmas night to put a cap on a big three day weekend of football. I'll go over some of the other big games with playoff implications as we inch closer to the conclusion of the regular season.

(31:24) Ja Morant's completed his 25 game suspension and returned in his first game on Tuesday vs. New Orleans to a storybook ending. He delivered a buzzer beating basket to top the Pelicans 115-113 with a 34 point performance. Can he actually pump life and save the Grizzlies awful start? The NBA will have their Christmas Day extravaganza with five huge games. I'll review the quintet, which is going up against the NFL schedule that day. I'll also take a peek at what else is going on in the Association, including will the Pistons avoid a league record 26 game losing streak? And the Clippers torrid stretch to where they've won nine in a row.

(45:47) The NHL has been low key of late. The big news is the Ottawa Senators fired their head coach (DJ Smith) earlier this week, hiring long time coach, Jacques Martin. I'll see what the latest is (former NHL great, Jaromir Jagr is STILL playing?) despite the ice being rather quiet over the last week or so.

(48:55) Ever since the Dodgers signing of Shohei Ohtani, the MLB Hot Stove has been a refrigerator! Why has that been the case? How come we haven't heard a peep of any rumors regarding the likes of Cody Bellinger? Blake Snell? And Jordan Montgomery, among others? Speaking of which, what's the mystery surrounding coveted Japanese pitcher, Yoshinobu Yamamoto? Who's the frontrunner to procure the ballyhooed hurler? I'll share my thoughts on what my beloved Mets should do, if I was owner Steve Cohen, with an offer that I believe is a fair and reasonable one.

Cowboys Untrustworthy In Big Road Games, AFC/NFC South Log Jam, Latest NFL Playoff Picture. Steph's Streak Stopped, Giannis's 'Real' Game Ball. Pistons: 23 L's! Dodgers Continue Reload With Glasnow

It's almost time to get festive and celebrate another holiday season, but before that there's plenty of sports talk to get into as the latest podcast has arrived. On deck:

(2:59) As steady, and at times, spectacular this season that the Dallas Cowboys have been, they've been bad in a big spot on the road. Further evidence was yesterday in Buffalo where they were drubbed 31-10 by the Bills. Do you trust this Cowboy team on the road against a stout opponent? They have another shot where they go down to Miami on Christmas Eve to see if they can silence the critics, including yours truly. There's an interesting development with both Souths in the AFC & NFC. You have the Jaguars, who have hit the skids with a three game losing streak, now tied with the Texans and Colts for first place in the AFC South. The Buccaneers impressed and won a huge game in Green Bay, while the Saints keep pace with Tampa after beating the Giants at home and Atlanta (after a bad loss on the road in Carolina) are only a game behind both teams for the top spot in the NFC South. I'll share my disgust with the Steelers effort over the past three weeks, rumors about the possible end of Mike Tomlin as coach. I'll uncover all of the up to the date playoff scenarios in each conference, other news throughout the league (i.e. Chargers firing coach Brandon Staley. Is Bill Belichick not far behind?) as we're down to the final three weeks of the regular season. NOTE: I made a mention of the 49ers losing Super Bowl LIV to Miami, not in Miami. Of course, they lost to Kansas City. My apologies for the faux pas.

(32:05) A few records were snapped and came to a halt in the NBA. Steph Curry had his streak of 268 games of making at least one three pointer ended in a win vs. Portland. Kings guard Keegan Murray made eleven straight three point shots (an NBA record) in a win vs. Utah. And Bucks forward, Giannis Antetokounmpo got the game ball he deserves as he's the all time leader in franchise history when it comes to rebounding. Also, the sad passing of former big man, Eric Montross who succumbed to cancer at the age of 52. I'll keep you abreast of what the latest is throughout as the Clippers have been scorching, the Spurs snap their 18 game losing streak and the Pistons have lost 23 consecutive games and counting.

(44:09) The NHL has been rather low key, although you have a big loss with Dallas Stars goaltender Jake Oettinger out with a lower body injury for the forseeable future. How will that impact them in the short term? Plus, whatever else is happening on the ice.

(48:30) MLB's Hot Stove has been cool for the most part, but the Dodgers continue to reload as they've traded for Rays pitcher Tyler Glasnow and gave him an $136 million dollar extension. Is Japanese pitcher Yoshinobu Yamamoto on their radar to complete an enormous offseason of transactions?

Belichick Out? Steeler Tradition Done? Games In Brazil? Oh! A Busy Week 15 Schedule. Giannis Overreacts Over Game Ball. Draymond Surprise Suspension. Spurs: 20 L's In A Row? Ohtani Contract Aftermath

It's been a busy past few days in the sports world and it's evident because I've got plenty to unpack as the latest podcast is here for consumption. On deck:

(2:52) With Week 15 in the NFL just about here, there were plenty of newsworthy items over the past few days. Starting off with the inevitable firing of coach Bill Belichick in New England. Is it a possibility? A probability? It's been a couple of rough weeks for the Pittsburgh Steelers of late. One of its best players in their teams history (QB, Ben Roethlisberger) has called out the organization as far as their tradition might be past them, as well as, taking shots at the head coach, Mike Tomlin, along the way. Is he accurate? Out of line? The NFL is going to expand their international reach as they're looking to have Brazil host a game next year. Is this an exercise of futility? Is this necessary? There's some news regarding the officiating front where the commissioner and VP of football operations have come out in light of the call in Kansas City on Sunday, where WR Kadarius Toney was in the neutral zone prior to the touchdown that gave the Chiefs the lead. What was said during those discussions and what may change? Oh! I'll preview a super busy schedule, which now adds Saturday to the mix with just about every game having playoff implications. I'll also pay respects to former Titans TE, Frank Wycheck, who passed away tragically last weekend at the age of 52.

(36:21) The Association has had some eventful moments the past 48 hours or so. Bucks forward, Giannis Antetokounmpo scored a career high 64 points last night vs. Indiana. How he acted after the game in searching for the game ball as a keepsake was a complete overreaction? Then you had Warriors Draymond Green suspended indefinitely for striking Suns Jusuf Nurkic on Tuesday night. As tired as his act has been throughout his career, was this too extreme? Will the Spurs ever win again? Of course they will, but they've lost 18 games in a row. Is there a chance they can snap their streak before the weekend is out?

(47:20) Off the ice, the St. Louis Blues fired their head coach Craig Berube. And what's this about the owner of the Washington Capitals & NBA Wizards, Ted Leonsis, wanting to move his teams to Northern Virginia by the end of the decade? On the ice, the Edmonton Oilers have been bulldozing the competition after a very slow start as they've won eight straight.

(53:34) Who would've thought that we're almost a week since the news of Shohei Ohtani signing his whopping $700 million dollar contract with the Dodgers, that it's still making waves. Whether it's the $680 million dollars deferred after 2033, an opt out that's rather odd and what this does for the team's luxury tax? Quite a bit to unpack as this MLB Hot Stove has been rather cool, even with the Giants (who made an offer to Ohtani similar to what the Dodgers did) signed Korean outfielder Jung Hoo Lee to a six year/113 million dollar deal.

Shohei Payday! 700 Million Ways To Dissect This Exorbitant Dodger Deal? Chiefs/Eagles In Trouble? NBA Cup Fizzles. Well Wishes For Chris Evert. The End Of The PGA? Jon Rahm Bolts For LIV

You'd be hard pressed to find a podcast that has all of the below as I deliver everything that's happening in sports. On deck:

(2:59) I still can't wrap my head around a player in professional team sports, signing a contract for $700 million dollars. That's what the Dodgers paid prized free agent, Shohei Ohtani over the next ten years. I'll break down was this deal worth it? Is he worth it? Will he live up to it? There's so much to unpack when it comes to a record breaking signing like this, with the magnitude and ramifications that come along with it.

(16:17) There are four more weeks left of the NFL regular season. As we come down the homestretch, the possibility of intrigue and drama is forthcoming. The first storyline of yesterday is the Chiefs losing when it looked like they would've had an enormous win, but an offsides on the offense overturned a late touchdown lateral from Travis Kelce, has the Chiefs headed into a postseason which will lead them on the road for the first time in the Andy Reid-Patrick Mahomes era. Then there are the Eagles. They've been scuffling the last couple of weeks as they were beaten by the Cowboys last night in a 30-13 loss and have dropped from the #1 seed in the conference to #5 as of today. What does this mean for the defending NFC champs as they try to regroup and make a push back up the standings? It's a log jam in the middle of both conferences as they jockey for playoff positioning as I'll uncover all that happened in the league yesterday, bring you up to speed on the latest in the sport as the intensity will ratchet up as we get through the back half of the NFL schedule. NOTE: MAJOR FAUX PAS as I said Detroit beat Chicago yesterday when it was the other way around! My sincerest apology for the oversight!

(42:45) I'll mention another big win by Army as they had a goal line stand to stave off Navy in the closing seconds of their game on Saturday. Your Heisman Trophy winner of 2023 is LSU QB Jayden Daniels beating out Michael Penix Jr. for the best player in college football.

(44:39) The Inaugural NBA In-Season Tournament and Cup Final is in the books. From my experience, it was lackluster and didn't generate a whole lot of buzz and attention as the Lakers are the first ever to win in this type of setting. Is this meaningful for an organization that's all about championships in June than December? Now we can move on with the season as the Christmas schedule is on the horizon and the return of Grizzlies guard, Ja Morant as he's scheduled to come back in about ten days or so. Will they rebound from a dreadful start? Or will they continue to play below average?

(52:55) On the ice, the Los Angeles Kings NHL record road winning streak at 11 games went by the wayside in New York over the weekend with losses to the Islanders & Rangers. Also, former Kings goalie Jonathan Quick played against his former team last night for the first time as the latter NY team won 4-1. Plus, all else that's happening throughout the league (including one time NHL player, Tony Granato fighting cancer) as I'll discuss some recent surprises and disappointments over the past week.

(56:46) I'll send well wishes out to tennis great, Chris Evert, as she's battling cancer for a second go round.

(57:32) The latest player to make the jump to the LIV Golf League is #3 player in the world, Jon Rahm. Is there a lot of concern on the PGA side as they lose out on another key figure in the sport? Will both the PGA & LIV hammer out a deal to join forces before the end of the year? Does anyone care?

Yankees Land Juan Soto. Are They World Series Contenders? Is Ohtani Suffocating Free Agency Period? Eagles Litmus Test In Dallas? NBA Cup Final No One Wants To See! Patrick Kane's Impact In DET

Fired up to close out another week with robust sports chatter and passion as the latest edition has arrived. On deck:

(3:09) It was a rather quiet MLB Winter Meetings period down in Nashville this week, until last night when a major deal took place as the Yankees acquired Juan Soto from San Diego for prospects. Does this make the Bronx Bombers World Series contenders? Is there more work to be done if you're GM Brian Cashman? Then there's quite a bit surrounding the biggest free agent in the sport, Shohei Ohtani. Has he hijacked and suffocated free agency from his counterparts? And how his silence is affecting him in negotiating with other teams? I'll have all of the up to the minute deals to this point as I continue to monitor where Ohtani and the like (i.e. Blake Snell, Cody Bellinger, Matt Chapman, etc.) may be headed.

(20:45) The NFL has another ordinary week on the schedule, but there is one heavyweight matchup that's ultra important to the NFC playoff picture. Philadelphia is at Dallas on Sunday night. Why this game is imperative for the Eagles, more so than the Cowboys? And what effect this'll have if Philly loses? I'll break down some of the other games that have postseason implications as we inch closer to the final stretch of the regular season. As an addendum, what is Florida Governor, Ron DeSantis doing by wanting to sue the committee for snubbing Florida State out of the college football playoffs? Really?!

(32:40) Hoops fans, the NBA Cup semifinals begins tonight, with the championship on Saturday night. Indiana will face Milwaukee in the first game, followed by New Orleans-LA Lakers. It's easy to point out which matchup the NBA does NOT want to see in the Final. Plus, whatever else is going on throughout the Association as we get past this first ever in-season tournament.

(40:50) Former Blackhawks great, Patrick Kane has found a new home in Detroit as he attempts to resurrect his career in Motown. What kind of impact with all of his experience, winning and resume will he have on a young team looking to take a leap in the Eastern Conference? Also, what else is happening in the NHL as teams continue to stay hot or get back on track, almost a third into the season.

(49:35) The Heisman Trophy for the best college football player takes place on Saturday. I'll tell you who I think should win as Washington QB, Michael Penix Jr., Oregon QB, Bo Nix, Ohio State WR Marvin Harrison Jr. and LSU QB Jayden Daniels are the finalists for this years award.

SEC Bias Tops FLA State's Perfection As Committee Selects Alabama For Playoffs. 49ers Flex Muscle, Crowded AFC Playoff Picture. NBA Cup Week Buzz? Braves Continue Retool As Winter Meetings Begin

December is in full bloom as so is the latest podcast as I have plenty to unpack after a wild few days in the world of sports. On deck:

(2:42) The semifinals in college football are set, but not without some controversy. Alabama played an excellent game vs. two time defending champ, riding a 29 game winning streak to beat Georgia in the SEC Championship Game. It paved the way for the committee to have them leapfrog over an undefeated Florida State team and into the college football playoff as they chose an SEC powerhouse, opposed to an unbeaten Seminole squad looking to get back to prominence in the sport. I'll dissect this whole scenario from soup to nuts, have an early preview of the matchups between Alabama-Michigan & Texas-Washington as the bowl season will be upon us in the next week and a half.

(19:50) A colossal confrontation in Philadelphia yesterday was anything but that. The San Francisco 49ers showed the NFC and the rest of the league they mean business as they took the Eagles to the back of the woodshed in a 42-19 win. Are they the NFL's best? I have to throw some cold water on that as I've explained this in past podcasts, but has to be reiterated as to as good of a team they are, they are far from perfect. I'll get into what's becoming a muddled AFC playoff picture from top to bottom as the Chiefs slip in the conference, the Dolphins move to the top and before the night is done, Jacksonville push Miami out of the way as a #1 seed. An awful Steelers performance against a 2-10 Arizona Cardinals team, with a short week and a Thursday night date with a team even WORSE in the New England Patriots. You know I'm not a happy camper and have a ton to say about this. I'll peek at an up to the second review of the NFC, all that transpired on the schedule as we're on the cusp of the final four games of the regular season. NOTE: I stated that the coach of the Indianapolis Colts is Scott Steichen, it's Shane Steichen. My apologies for the error.

(47:52) Are you ready for the first ever NBA Cup? The quarterfinals begin tonight as there'll be four games tonight, four tomorrow, the semifinals on Thursday, culminating in the championship game on Saturday night. I'll bluntly state what the Association is hoping, PRAYING for, when it comes who they'd love to see in the final? Plus, Kevin Durant reaches lofty status when it comes to scoring all time in league history. Luka Doncic's monster effort after the birth of his first child (with a 30-0 run in the middle of it), but LOST! And anything else happening as I'll see what the rest of the league is doing in the midst of this in-season tournament.

(56:54) A couple of key injuries highlight what's going on in the NHL. The Devils lose one of their top defenseman (Dougie Hamilton) for an extended period of time. Same for the Avalanche's Cale Makar, although the extent of how long he'll be out in unknown at this time. And give it up to Penguins goalie Tristan Jarry who made history when he scored a goal the other night vs. Tampa Bay. I'll check what else is happening on the ice as they're past the quarter pole of their season.

(59:53) The Winter Meetings has commenced in Nashville when it comes to the MLB Hot Stove. The Atlanta Braves continue their low key, but effective off-season doing their best to retool a team that's already stacked. They acquired former Mets prospect and Seattle Mariner OF Jarred Kelenic in a deal involving prospects. The Milwaukee Brewers have put all of their chips in the basket of their 19 year old CF Jackson Chourio before he's played a game in the majors with an eight year/82 million dollar deal. Will the next couple of days deliver a deal for Shohei Ohtani? Yoshinobu Yamamoto? What about a team inquiring about Juan Soto? Or Pete Alonso? You know I'll have my fingers on the pulse when it comes to some wheeling and dealing in baseball.

College Football Playoff Spots On The Line As WSH/Georgia On Notice. 49ers-Eagles Epic NFC Clash. Rodgers Return? New Owner Syndrome In CAR. Done With NBA In-Season Tourney. MLB Winter Meetings

With the last month of the year knocking on the door, I'll close out November with lots of fire and passion as the sports world heats up with all that's going on in the latest edition of the pod. On deck:

(3:36) It comes down to this. If you're a college football fan, this should be a great couple of days as we'll find out who'll qualify for the Final Four and secure a spot on New Year's Day to compete for a chance to play in the National Championship. To me, it boils down to what happens in the Oregon-Washington & Alabama-Georgia games. I'll preview and break down all of the permutations of what teams can get in and what teams deserve to make it, based on the outcomes of the aforementioned games above.

(17:07) There is an epic showdown on the horizon that'll take place in the NFL on Sunday. The San Francisco 49ers will pay a visit to Philadelphia in a rematch of the NFC Title Game from last year. This'll have major implications when it comes to home field throughout for the conference. I'll dissect what this'll mean for the Niners if they win, same for the Eagles as this is by far the best game of a bad lot on the schedule in Week 12. I'll also get into Jets QB Aaron Rodgers returning back to the practice field as he's been cleared to participate in light drills. If healthy, should he play? Then you have the scenario is Carolina where the owner, David Tepper, fired coach Frank Reich after 11 games. I'll uncover why this guy has 'new owner syndrome' and can't help himself when it comes to operating his business into the ground.

(38:54) Is anyone else done with the NBA In-Season Tournament? I sure am. When you have players questioning the integrity of the sport and teams having to run up the score for point differential in order to qualify, I have a major problem with that. There's also a situation in Oklahoma City regarding Josh Giddey having an alleged relationship with a minor, which is being investigated. Is it too early to say that punishment will be handed down to the Thunder guard? The Magic continue to play well as they've ascended in the East to date. What's going on in Golden State as they've lost eight of their last ten? Is there something underlying that's happening behind the scenes that we don't know? Also, Mavericks owner Mark Cuban is giving up a majority of his franchise as casino moguls from Las Vegas will take over, although he'll still be involved in the day to day activities for the team. I didn't see this coming.

(50:33) The NHL had a couple of newsworthy notes this week. Dean Evason was let go as coach of the Minnesota Wild as they snapped a seven game losing streak with new coach, John Hynes. Patrick Kane has found a new home as he inked a one year deal in Detroit. And longtime player Corey Perry was found the door as he was dismissed from the Chicago Blackhawks due to conduct inappropriate to the team.

(54:41) Baseball fans, the hot stove may start to heat up over the next few days. I'll get into the names that have been thrown around in the rumor mill (i.e. Dylan Cease, Juan Soto, Shohei Ohtani to name a few) some players who have signed to date (Sonny Gray with STL) and ask why did the Mets sign former Yankee pitcher Luis Severino?

Eagles Grit, Resilience Shows Why They're NFL's Best. Buckeye Bust, Crimson Tide Miracle, Huskies Survive In Wild College Saturday. Magic Spell In NBA East/In-Season Tourney Update

Full from Thanksgiving leftovers? Well I have plenty of sports leftovers as there is quite a bit to chew on to get you past a holiday weekend and prepare for the final month of the year. On deck:

(2:34) As December looms with the final four games of the regular season approaching, there's no argument as to who is the best team in the NFL as of today. The Philadelphia Eagles came from behind yet again to beat Buffalo at home in a thrilling overtime matchup. I'll discuss their intestinal fortitude, how last year's Super Bowl loss has fueled them this season and have a mano a mano NFC Title Game rematch vs. San Francisco this coming Sunday. I'll go through the Week 12 slate and unpack the Steelers new look offense, a tough Lions loss on Thanksgiving which has big ramifications in the NFC, a slog for a subpar division winner in the NFC South, a Bronco uprising over the last few weeks as they're over .500 and the Browns defense that was Super Bowl worthy? Ha! I'll have all of that and much more as the NFL continue to heat up.

(35:49) You couldn't have asked for a better college football Saturday as you've had some wild and crazy endings with Ohio State-Michigan, Alabama-Auburn and Washington State-Washington as all three games had postseason implications in which the Buckeyes disappointed down the stretch. The Crimson Tide converted a miraculous 4th down from the Tigers 31 yard line (that's not a typo) and the Huskies survived by kicking a game winning field goal as time expired as they were victorious vs. the Cougars. It sets up what will be a conference championship weekend to remember as these teams will battle it out to potentially reach a playoff come January 1st.

(45:29) Is anyone into the NBA In Season Tournament? I can't say I have, but one team that's been impressive during the first quarter of the season are the Orlando Magic. They're in the middle of a seven game winning streak and among the heavyweights of the Eastern Conference at the moment. Is this sustainable? Do they belong with the Celtics, Bucks and Sixers?

(51:54) The New York Rangers were able to put a hurting on the Boston Bruins this past Saturday with a 7-4 win at home. Are they a threat to the Bruins in the East?

(56:08) MLB Hot Stove fans are still waiting for it to heat up as not much has happened over the last week or so. Unless you're excited about the Mariners trading 3B Eugenio Suarez to Arizona. The Tigers signing P Kenta Maeda and the Padres hiring former Cardinals manager, Mike Shildt to patrol an underachieving, high priced ball club.

Dissecting NFL Pretenders & Contenders. Washington Jumps To #4, An Upcoming Wild Final College Friday/Saturday Schedule. Aaron Nola's Big Payday. Is He Worth It? A Low Key NBA & NHL Weekend

I'm serving up plenty of sports dishes to keep your appetite satiated as Thanksgiving Week is here. Here is what's on deck:

(4:08) As I wish you guys and gals a happy, healthy and safe Thanksgiving (as well as making a podcast announcement), we are now well past the halfway point of the NFL season. I've come to terms as to who are the contenders (i.e. KC, PHI, DET, BAL, SF) those on the cusp (i.e. MIA, DAL) and pretenders (i.e. SEA, CIN, JAX & BUF. That's right! I said it!) of who'll make the Super Bowl in the middle of February and who will not. I'll break down some of what took place yesterday, especially the comments Steelers RB Najee Harris admitting to the press as his offense put up another stinker, which I'm sure all fans, including yours truly, share the same sentiment. Why I'm not sold on the Cleveland Browns? I'll take a peek at the Thanksgiving Day schedule, the Black Friday matchup (MIA-NYJ) and the Sunday slate as we close out the schedule for the month of November.

(39:51) College football is coming down to the regular season wire. We have an interesting development where the Washington Huskies catapulted themselves into the top four, knocking down the Florida State Seminoles to number five. They suffered a huge loss as QB, Jordan Travis left the game with a leg injury that may have him sidelined for the rest of the season. Can they still get back into the Final Four when it's all said and done? I'll get into a huge weekend on the schedule, the permutations of potential craziness of certain teams losing and where they stand in the playoff mix as the regular season concludes this coming Saturday.

(47:13) MLB is preparing their hot stove and they'll have plenty to cook in the coming days. The Atlanta Braves have been wheeling and dealing so far with some small trades. One of the bigger free agents is off the books as Phillies pitcher Aaron Nola stays in Philadelphia, signing a seven year, $172 million dollar contract. Is he worth that type of money? Speaking of money, a ton is going to be thrown the way of Japanese pitcher, Yoshinobu Yamamoto as negotiations can begin as early as tomorrow. Where does he end up?

(52:56) The Association has been low key over the past few days. I'll discuss a few injuries (i.e. Bradley Beal, Marcus Smart) some teams playing well. (i.e. Orlando, OKC) A 180 with the Western Conference standings.

(56:34) Same could be said for what's happening on the ice as it has been quiet. A star player returns to the lineup (i.e. Devils Jack Hughes), a star player may not see an extended period on the sidelines (i.e. Panthers Aleksander Barkov), a tough guy taking time away from the team because of personal issues (i.e. Bruins Milan Lucic). Besides that, I'll see where we're at in the standings and get into the latest happenings in the NHL.

Bengals Must Win, Bills Un-Playoff Bound? Browns Bad Luck Leads Week 11. Georgia/WSH Headline College Saturday. Tired Of Draymond's Antics. Same For Yankee GM Cashman. Isles Coach On Plank?

Closing out another week with plenty of passion and fire to what the sports world has contributed over the past few days as the latest podcast is here. On deck:

(3:08) NFL Week 11 kicks off with an intriguing AFC North matchup as the Bengals visit the Ravens tonight, in a absolute must win for Cincinnati. There are a couple of storylines that have taken place over the last few days. The Buffalo Bills dropped to 5-5 on Monday night, which poses the question, are they in danger of missing the playoffs? What about the Cleveland Browns luck? After one of the bigger regular season games that they've won in quite some time against Baltimore on Sunday, they lose their starting QB, Deshaun Watson to a fracture in his throwing shoulder. Do they have enough to get by and make it to the postseason? I'll get into some of the key games on the schedule this week, including a Super Bowl matchup on Monday night as the Eagles visit the Chiefs.

(20:57) College football only has two games of note this Saturday (Georgia-Tennessee & Washington-Oregon St.) that could impact the college football playoff mix. We're still a few weeks away from figuring who'll make it and who won't, but I'll touch on what may lie ahead as the season is down to its final few weeks.

(26:39) Is anyone else sick of the antics and chicanery of Warriors forward Draymond Green? He was suspended for his involvement in a fracas with Timberwolves center Rudy Gobert where he received a five game layoff. When does it ever stop when it comes to the temperament of Green? I'll make a mention of an aspect of what I don't like about the in-season tournament as the Sixers are done with the Celtics playing in Philadelphia. Also, do we have to keep an eye on the health of Lakers big man Anthony Davis, after a putrid performance vs. Sacramento last night and not blaming it on a recent hip injury?

(37:18) College basketball is back in our consciousness. I'll briefly touch on the first week of the season and go over some teams to pay attention to.

(40:04) The MLB offseason/Hot Stove will start to heat up in the weeks to come. One thing that has me heated is how Yankee GM Brian Cashman has acted over the last week. Between calling his front office "pretty effing good" to calling out the health of one of his players (Giancarlo Stanton) how about he pipe down and start building a World Series contender, one that hasn't reached the baseball pinnacle in almost 15 years. Some sad news out of San Diego as owner Peter Seidler passed away at age 63.

(48:41) As for the ice, the NHL has been quiet. I'm not happy with my beloved NY Islanders as they're in the midst of a Western Canada/Pacific Northwest trip, where they've lost the first two games. Is their coach, Lane Lambert, already on the hot seat?

Browns Statement Win. Are The 49ers Back? Kyler Murray's Return Highlights Week 10. Harbaugh Suspended. Does It Fit The Crime? Craig Counsell Controversy? NBA In Season Snoozefest?

I have my sleeves rolled up as I'm primed to get into the holiday season and plow through 2023 with plenty of content to share with everything that's happening in sports. On deck:

(3:00) I know I didn't produce and release a podcast this past Thursday, I'll explain in detail as to why that was the case, but rest assured, quite a bit is coming down the pike to close out the year and into 2024. You'll want to stay tuned to what's going on because, I promise you, changes are coming!

(4:12) It was a wild and wacky Week 10 in the NFL where there were a record five game winning, walk off field goals as time expired. The big developments of yesterday was the Browns remarkable comeback in Baltimore. Are the 49ers back in Super Bowl form after their beatdown of Jacksonville? Although the Cardinals are going nowhere, but is there going to be a Kyler Murray renaissance in the desert? I'll get into how the Vikings have turned their fortunes with QB Josh Dobbs at the helm. The Steelers escape with another win, but now it gets interesting over the next two weeks as they have back to back road division games (Cleveland, Cincinnati) that may shape up their season. Plus, the rest of the slate as we're past the halfway point of the season.

(29:11) All of the talk in college football late last week was the fate of Michigan Wolverine coach, Jim Harbaugh. The Big 10 conference suspended Harbaugh the final three games of the regular season for alleged sign stealing. Does the punishment fit the crime? There wasn't any pressure of not having their head coach on the sideline this past Saturday as they beat Penn State on the road. If Michigan runs the table to a college football playoff, will the NCAA step in to extend this suspension? The landscape looks the same as the rankings are status quo, but the schedule will heat up as we're approaching the final couple of weeks to close out the month of November.

(41:25) There were a bunch of managerial hirings in MLB this past week. The lead, yet controversial one is Craig Counsell going to the Cubs, after they fired David Ross, who was a contributor to their 2016 World Series team. You have new skippers in Anaheim (Ron Washington), Houston (Joe Espada) and the Mets (Carlos Mendoza) WHO? You know I'll unpack that and possibly how long he'll be the Met manager? And what is going on in Yankee land? Owner Hal Steinbrenner has consulted the players on the current manager Aaron Boone? WHAT? Seriously? I have plenty to say on this as I spend some time on the diamond with the Hot Stove on the horizon.

(53:15) The Association's experiment with the in-season tournament has done NOTHING for yours truly. I'll express my thoughts on that. There have been a few surprises to date (Sixers, T-wolves, Pacers on the plus side. Clippers, Suns, Kevin Durant's legacy on the negative.) as the NBA is in full swing.

(59:24) Break up the San Jose Sharks. They started off 0-10-1, had been outscored 55-12 during that stretch, but they won two games over the past week to get off the schneid for now. Also, I mentioned last week on the podcast that Edmonton Oilers head coach, Jay Woodcroft, whose team was underperforming, was in danger of losing his job. Guess what? He was shown the door and replaced by former AHL coach Kris Knoblauch. I'll see what else is happening as teams are making some headway (i.e. Panthers, Canucks) after slow starts. And Blackhawks rookie Connor Bedard puts himself in the record books.

'Road Worriers' In Miami, Seattle & Dallas? Front Running Ravens. Longhorns Survives In CF Playoff Mix. Wemby's First Signature Game. In-Season Tourney Courts! NHL Sharks: All Time Worst?

Election Day may be tomorrow, but I'll share my winners and losers of the past few days in the sports world as the most recent edition of the podcast is here. On deck:

(2:41) NFL Week 9 was a wild one, especially when it comes to teams who I thought were making the turn for the better (i.e. Miami, Seattle & Dallas). They were unable to show and prove by winning a big game on the road, which they have not done to date. Will this cost them come January? The Baltimore Ravens have been building a case as one of the top teams in the AFC. Despite their style of play offensively, this is a front running team that does not play well from behind. I'll explain. Plus, Texans QB, CJ Stroud's historic game vs. Tampa Bay. Antonio Pierce's affect on the Raiders as he coached his first game (and won vs. his former team that he played for i.e. Giants). Are the Steelers doing it with smoke and mirrors? I'll have all of what took place yesterday as we slowly, but surely get over the halfway point of the season.

(31:44) College football was pretty much status quo when it comes to the top teams in the country, although Texas had to sweat out an overtime victory against Kansas St. Washington outlasted USC on the road. Missouri gave Georgia all they could handle, but came up short in Athens as I'm sure the playoff picture will shift over the course of the next month.

(36:24) The Association has seen an early signature game in the young career of Spurs rookie Victor Wembanyama as he put up 38 points & 10 rebounds in a win vs. the Suns last week. As of this moment, there are only two things that can slow or stop him from being an all-time great. And what about the colors on the courts as the NBA in-season tournament begun on Friday night. Don't adjust your TV sets with all of the blues and reds that are coming through loud in high definition.

(43:01) Are the NHL's San Jose Sharks on the verge of being the worst regular season team in league history? They're sure off to that type of start, going 0-10-1, losing their last two games by the score of 20-3 and have been outscored 55-12 to date. I know it's early, but it's sure looking like that will be the case. I'll take a trip around the ice to see how the Bruins and Golden Knights finally lost their first game of the year. Is Oilers coach, Jay Woodcroft on the hot seat as his team has won two of its first ten?

RIP Bobby Knight. Historic Road Warrior Rangers Win First Title. NFL Trade Deadline Recap, State Of Steelers. Loaded NFL Schedule. Michigan: Stealing Signs? Harden Lands In LA. Will It Work?

Kicking off a new month with plenty of sports talk to get wrapped up in as the most recent episode is signed, sealed and delivered. On deck:

(3:14) I pay my respect to a coaching legend who has passed away. Bobby Knight, the last head coach to lead his team to an undefeated season, died yesterday at the age of 83. I'll go through the highlights and lowlights of a decorated and controversial career as one of the greatest coaches in college basketball history.

(12:02) A historic run led the Texas Rangers to their first ever World Series championship. They won eleven road games without a loss over the past three weeks as they took care of the Diamondbacks in five games. I'll recap a rather forgetful Series, Bruce Bochy's brilliance, Jacob deGrom, Max Scherzer, etc. and look ahead to free agency (aka The Hot Stove) as I put to bed the 2023 baseball season.

(24:57) It's been an eventful week in the NFL. First up, you had the trade deadline on Tuesday which I'll review. Mark Davis, owner of the Las Vegas Raiders, did some housecleaning by firing head coach Josh McDaniels, their GM and offensive coordinator as they're off to another bad start. Week 9 has brought us to the halfway point (or just about). I'll share a brief Steelers state of the union as they open up the schedule tonight vs. Tennessee. There are four big games on Sunday that occupy each of the main windows (i.e. MIA-KC at 9:30am ET, SEA-BAL at 1pm, DAL-PHI at 4:25pm and BUF-CIN at 8:20pm) which will have the football fan riveted and the wives and girlfriends exasperated.

(42:42) College football is slowly getting into the homestretch of their season. The schedule isn't anything to write home about (LSU-Alabama, Washington-USC are the only games of note.) I'll get into what's going on at Michigan as there's been accusations of sign stealing. Could this affect their standing in qualifying for the postseason? And why is Ohio State ranked #1?

(52:34) It's finally official. James Harden has been shipped to LA and is a member of the Clippers. Will this experiment work? What about the Memphis Grizzlies? They're the last team to record a win as of this posting (0-5). Without Ja Morant for another 20 games, is this already a lost season for a team that's had a lot of success in the regular season over the past two years?

(1:00:02) Wrapping up, the San Jose Sharks are the Memphis Grizzlies of the NHL as they haven't won a game to date. Could this be a historically bad year for the Sharks? Besides that (and an Ottawa Senators player getting a 41 game suspension for gambling) it's status quo on ice as that sport is approaching the first month of their season.

Diamondbacks Resolve Evens Up World Series. NFL Teams Turning The Corner, 49ers Not As Good As We Think? Oklahoma's Playoff Chances Shot. Bucks Blown Out. McDavid's Return. Fury Ekes By Ngannou

It's that time of the year. The holiday season is upon us. First up, I have plenty of tricks AND treats as Halloween Eve is here. So is the latest podcast as I'll satiate your sports sweet tooth with all that's happening. On deck:

(3:32) We have a World Series to sink our teeth into. The Arizona Diamondbacks have evened up the Fall Classic after experiencing a gut punch of a loss in Game 1 when they led by two runs in the ninth inning. Are the D-backs going to shock the world by sweeping the next three games at home to win a World Series? Will they go back to Texas up 3-2? I'll get into what has transpired and what to possibly expect as the series shifts to Phoenix over the next three days.

(16:38) As we approach the halfway point of the NFL season, the theme for this segment are teams that look like they're making the turn and are primed for a second half run (i.e. Bengals, Jaguars, Seahawks & Ravens) and a team that showed they were the best in the league over the first five weeks of the season (i.e. 49ers) have hit a snag as they're in the middle of a three game losing streak and face an uphill battle to get back to the top of the conference. I'll also take a look at the rest of the Week 8 schedule as we had a full slate with no teams on byes. And the trade deadline is tomorrow. Who goes where? What could shake down over the next 24 hours?

(45:30) Oklahoma has possibly taken themselves out of the college football playoff picture as they suffered a tough loss at Kansas on Saturday. What does the playoff mix looks like as we enter into the month of November?

(49:29) The NBA is off and running. There isn't much to dive into after a few days, unless you're in Milwaukee as the Bucks lost by 17 at home to the Hawks.

(51:41) Reigning MVP Connor McDavid returned to the Oilers lineup earlier than expected as they faced their arch rival Calgary Flames last night in the outdoor Heritage Classic. The rest of the NHL landscape shows that the final unbeaten teams (i.e. Golden Knights, Bruins & Avalanche) all suffered blemishes over the past few days.

(54:54) Heavyweight champion Tyson Fury had a 10 round bout vs. former MMA fighter, Francis Ngannou in a non title match. Ngannou surprised by knocking down the champ, but came up short as the split decision went to the champ. Did Fury take Ngannou lightly or for granted?

Tougher Loss: Astros Or Phillies? D-backs-Rangers World Series Preview. 49ers: The System Or QB? Weak College Football Saturday. NBA's First Two Days. Bruins Pick Up From Last Year. What About Vegas?

As we get set to embark on the 2023 holiday season, with Halloween forthcoming, it's time to hand out some early tricks and treats with all that the sports world has to give as the latest edition is here. On deck:

(2:58) The World Series is set. Before I preview a very unlikely matchup between the Diamondbacks-Rangers, I have to dissect the brutal home losses of the Astros and Phillies in the previous round. Which team/fan base had it worse? The Astros won a classic Game 5 in Arlington only to come home to blow the final two in their building? Or the Phillies, who had been unbeaten at home, losing Games 6 & 7 and four out of five to an 84 win Arizona team? I'll uncover all of that, plus, preview who'll win and who I'm rooting for to win the Fall Classic as it commences tomorrow night. I'll also chime in on some managerial news where Bob Melvin goes from San Diego to San Francisco, while the Mets (to no surprise) will interview former Brewers manager, Craig Counsell.

(25:14) Is it time to be concerned about the San Francisco 49ers? Not only have the lost two in a row, they will not have starting QB, Brock Purdy as he's in concussion protocol. With Sam Darnold, the backup, taking his place, is it more the system or is it the QB? We'll have to wait and find out, but it's an interesting question to address. I'll peek at the Week 8 schedule, where there's a smattering of decent games as we inch closer to the halfway point of the season.

(31:15) College football's Saturday schedule is looking rather thin as we're still a few weeks away from big time conference rivals facing one another.

(33:56) The NBA season is just a couple of days old. I'll get into a couple of Nuggets (pun intended) as they completed a 'five game sweep' of the Lakers. I'll explain. Also, Kristaps Porzingis's Celtics debut, Spurs rookie Victor Wembanyama's first game and Luka Doncic's triple double in the same game. Former NBA player Kenyon Martin recently stated that Doncic's teammate, Kyrie Irving is better than Luka. I'll debate that as we're just getting started on a new campaign.

(38:49) Are the Boston Bruins picking up where they left off from last years marathon of a regular season? They are currently 6-0 as an encore to their record setting 2022-23. Colorado has gotten off to a torrid 6-0 start. But wait, what about the defending Stanley Cup Champion Vegas Golden Knights? They are 7-0 as they've shown zero hangover from winning their first championship.

Which Astros Team Will Show Up In GM 7? A Phillie Coronation? Lions Tamed, Dolphins Trapped, Bills Corralled In NFL Week 7. Penn St. Comes Up Small. A Major Injury In NHL. NBA Over/Under Totals

Your favorite little podcast host is playing injured as I'm fighting a head cold, but that won't ever stop me from sharing my feelings on the latest that's happening in the sports universe. On deck:

(2:51) Have we seen this movie before? The Astros were down 0-2 going to Arlington in the ALCS. They came away with a three game sweep, including a dramatic ninth inning comeback in Game 5, with a chance to wrap up the AL pennant last night, but lost 9-2 to set the stage for tonight. They lost all of their home games during the 2019 World Series when they had home field advantage. Will history repeat itself four years later? Or will they come out victorious to see if they can defend their title? What about Rangers starter tonight Max Scherzer? Can he slay some recent playoff demons on his end to put his team into the Fall Classic for the first time in a dozen years? As for the NLCS, there could be a coronation in Philadelphia today as they look to reach a second consecutive World Series? We're getting toward the end of the LCS as the MLB has some drama, which we didn't think would be the case four or five days ago.

(21:39) NFL Week 7 answered a few questions about some teams that have big expectations this year, but came up small. The Lions were tamed big time in Baltimore as they were blown out 38-6. The Dolphins were competitive, but can't be trusted to win a big game on the road with a loss in Philadelphia. And the Bills did have a lead, but were unable to hold off the lowly Patriots in Foxborough. Are those teams to be taken seriously when the money is on the line? I'll go through the rest of the schedule, including my beloved Steelers and how they win these games with smoke and mirrors.

(40:18) Penn State had a chance to make a statement by winning a huge game at Columbus against Ohio State. Instead, they shrunk in the big moment in a 20-12 loss and have taken themselves out of the running for one of the top teams in the nation. The Crimson Tide were down by double digits at home at the half, but came on with 27 unanswered points to beat Tennessee. Then USC will not be heard from the rest of this season as they lose to their kryptonite the Utah Utes. I'll go through which teams are at the forefront of the college football playoff mix as we're past the halfway point of the season.

(50:13) There was big news in the NHL as they had to hold their collective breaths when Oilers superstar, Connor McDavid will be out for 1-2 weeks with a dreaded upper body injury. Can the sport afford to have their best player out for any significant time?

(54:18) The NBA tips off their season tomorrow night. I'll go through some over/under win totals and will clue you in on a surprise or two as I'll choose my six prior to my NBA preview set for tomorrow afternoon.

Road Warrior Astros Get Back In Series. Phillies On Mission To Win NL Again. Dolphins-Eagles Headline Rough Week 7. Penn St. Big Opportunity To Move Up In Ranks. Spurs Wembanyama Hype Overboard?

Another big sports weekend awaits. You know I've got you covered as I'll detail all of the latest and greatest throughout the landscape. On deck:

(2:30) Both League Championship Series in baseball are in the middle games as we look to see who'll face off in the Fall Classic. The Houston Astros have gotten off the mat in the ALCS and drew a game closer, thanks to the ineffective mercenary Max Scherzer. Can the defending world champs push this series back to Houston and possibly take a 3-2 lead? As for the NLCS, it looks like the Phillies are on a mission to repeat as NL champs, up 2-0. Will the Diamondbacks make this a series as the scene shifts to Arizona? I also have some thoughts on how this has been a postseason to forget at this point, the Marlins major screw up as former GM Kim Ng departs and what got into former MLB and now retired pitcher, Trevor May as he had some choice words for Oakland A's owner, John Fisher?

(23:07) NFL Week 7 has a huge Sunday night game(i.e. Miami at Philadelphia) and not much else. Does this game mean more for the Dolphins? Eagles? You do have the Lions going to Baltimore to play the Ravens. After that, it's a rough go on Sunday. I can't help but rail against how this season has been underwhelming due to several factors. Plus, my issue with the schedule and how the product is being worn thin that you'll have to tune in and hear for yourself.

(32:59) College football's Week 8 schedule has a couple of intriguing matchups, headlined by Penn St at Ohio State. I'll get into how this is a huge game for the Nittany Lions if they want to rank with the Buckeyes or Michigan Wolverines in a weak Big 10 conference.

(36:33) The NBA season is just five days away and the hype surrounding Spurs #1 pick, Victor Wembanyama has gone overboard. Now we have to watch highlights of him making passes to other players who are missing shots in a PRESEASON GAME?! You know I have quite a bit to say about this as we get ready to watch his rookie year unfold.

(42:42) On the ice, the NHL has been quiet since we last met on Monday. I'll briefly touch on Blackhawks #1 pick, Connor Bedard and the start of his first week plus in the league. Also, which teams have gotten off to a good start and who hasn't?
