Which Teams Will Make Noise Before MLB Trade Deadline Tomorrow? Too Much, Too Soon As NFL QB’s Get Paid! TNT Duped By NBA? Early Olympic Storylines! Feeling Blue After FL Trip?

I’m honored to welcome in a new partnership to the podcast. Are you familiar with OLIPOP soda?  Please go to www.drinkolipop.com, use promo code JAYREELZ for 15% off of your purchase.

Good to be home, although I was feeling blue on Friday, I’ll unpack that and everything that’s taking place in the world of sports. On deck:

(2:53) Back in the New York groove at the home studio as opposed to the lovely back drop of palm trees and greenery of Florida. I’ll deliver some details of my trip to Florida at the end of the podcast.

(3:21) I have to mention the good folks at OLIPOP. Please see promo above.

(5:17) Baseball’s trade deadline is tomorrow at 6pm. Teams are searching for reinforcements in order to qualify for postseason play. There have already been some big moves to date (Phillies get closer Carlos Estevez & OF Austin Hays. Yankees acquire Jazz Chisholm. Orioles obtain Zac Eflin, Siranthony Dominguez & Cristian Pache. Mariners trade for Randy Arozarena and the Mets pickup Ryne Stanek and Jesse Winker) What other key players are still out there for the taking? Will other teams get involved in any last minute transactions? I’ll take a peek at the latest in the division and wild card races as the dog days of August are almost here.

(37:13) It must be nice to be a quarterback in the NFL. Two more guys get signed to enormous contract. Dolphins signed Tua Tagovailoa to the richest contract in the history of the franchise. While the Packers get Jordan Love to sign on the dotted line. Was this too much money for a QB that’s been injured with concussions in the past? Or a guy that only has one year of starting experience? It’s an interesting commentary on the state and market of what the cost of the QB is in 2024?

(44:30) TNT is looking to get back into the new media deal signed by the NBA where the network was left out. Warner Bros./Turner Media certainly has something to say about it as they may take this to court as they felt they were grossly misinterpreted of their contractual rights. How will this play out when it’s all said and done?

(47:37) One major signing in the NHL wasn’t much of a surprise. The Flyers and Travis Konecny have agreed to an eight year deal.

(48:34) I have a few interesting takeaways from the first two days of the Summer Olympics in Paris. How hurt is Simone Biles’s leg? Will anyone care about Novak Djokovic vs. Rafael Nadal? US Men’s Basketball Team rolls over Serbia, but how come Jayson Tatum didn’t play? Will NBA Rookie of the Year and France’s own Victor Wembanyama carry them deep into a medal game performance?

(55:10) Always transparent and accountable as I missed out on Saturday’s latest UFC matchup.

(56:23) I wrap up with sharing the rest of my trip to Florida, this time in Miami, which brought me home feeling a certain type of way.

The Last Dance, Parts 1 & 2, Tua Tagovailoa And The 2020 NFL Draft, The Possibility Without Sports This Year

Get ready to be entertained and informed with some credible opinions on what’s going on in sports as Episode 126 brings the heat. On deck:

(2:13) SPOILER ALERT: I’ll dissect the first two parts of the long awaited documentary, The Last Dance, as it unfolds the final championship season of the Chicago Bulls. There were some very interesting takeaways from it, including, Michael Jordan’s competitive drive, Scottie Pippen’s disdain for GM Jerry Krause and owner Jerry Reinsdorf’s lack of input in regards to keeping one of the greatest teams of all time in tact and much more.

(24:10) The NFL Draft is upon us. I’ll share with you who is the most intriguing story of the first round. The TV aspect of it as this virtual draft is the first one of its kind. Should the Dolphins and Chargers move up to get their quarterback? My sleeper of the draft, rumors, news and whole lot more.

(40:56) The possibility of a world without sports for 2020, with a couple of potential exceptions. You’ll definitely won’t want to miss what I have to say about this as we continue to deal with the coronavirus pandemic.

(53:02) A few notes from the MLB. Plus, my Hero and Zero of the Week.

AFC/NFC Separation, Chaos In Cleveland, NFL Throws Bone To Kaepernick, Tua's Done/Is Alabama Next? Return Of The Hockey Policeman? Carmelo's NBA Return/Warriors Tanking?

Episode 99 is jam packed with tons of sports nuggets for your edification. On deck:

The separation atop the AFC and the bottom of the NFC, the Texans are frauds, Ravens red hot (but I need to see this in January), the Eagles are still live for the NFC East, the Rams may fall short are some of the storylines I discuss. Including, the chaos in Cleveland between the Steelers and Browns. Why this WASN’T Mason Rudolph’s fault? How there may not be any retribution in two weeks for their next matchup? And the sham that was Colin Kaepernick’s workout and the part that the NFL played in it?

Alabama QB Tua Tagovailoa is done for the season after dislocating his hip vs. Mississippi St. What does this means for Alabama’s playoff hopes and the two big losses in college football over the weekend.

The MLB’s investigating of the Houston Astros stealing signs going back to their 2017 World Championship season.

The return of the NHL policeman/tough guy? I’ll explain why.

Carmelo’s return to the NBA and the Warriors tanking? YOU’VE HEARD IT HERE FIRST!

Plus, my Hero and Zero of the Week.

Saints/Chiefs Stymied Among NFL Week 10 Storylines. Is Alabama Out of CFP? Will MLB Have Another Slow Off-Season? Plus, NBA & NHL Updates

Zooming through the sports landscape as I deliver (Episode 98) and all that happened this past week. Here’s what I got for you.

A lay of the NFL land through Week 10 as I discuss the Saints laying a huge egg at home, to the Falcons, no less. The Chiefs in Patrick Mahomes’s return lose to the Titans on the road. Lamar Jackson’s bid for MVP on the heels of a putrid NFL team in Cincinnati. The Steelers have come all the way back from an 0-3 start to put themselves in control of their own destiny for the AFC playoff race. Do the Browns have gas in the tank? Has the clock struck twelve for the Bills? I’ll have all of that for you, and then some, with a look ahead to Week 11.

LSU vs. Alabama was entertaining, but not the classic that people are making it out to be. I’ll recap the stars of this epic showdown, with the more important question. Will Alabama make the College Football Playoff this year?

The GM Meetings begin in Arizona today as the MLB Hot Stove will start to heat up. Could this be another slow off-season for the over 130 free agents to be making their way to new destinations?

I’ll also highlight the week that was on the ice (NHL) and on the hardwood (NBA)

Plus, my Hero and Zero of the Week.

Another Winter I Can Sleep In Peace (RIP 2019 Yankees), Nats-Astros WS Preview. NFL Week 7, Tua's Ankle, NBA '19-20 Preview & Storylines

Back after a week off, there’s a plethora of sports chatter to get into as I present (Episode 95) to you all. On deck is the following:

The Yankees fell short of reaching the World Series, not only this year, but the entire decade for the first time in over 100 years. I promise to not throw a lot of dirt on their 2019 grave, but there are a few bullet points to get to regarding this series vs. Houston and their outlook for 2020. Including a thought about a trade chip on their squad that could bring back a top of the rotation pitcher.

I’ll preview the World Series between Washington vs. Houston with my bold prediction. I’ll also chime in on the latest rumors regarding the Mets managerial position which you’ll get a kick out of.

NFL Week 7 was rather ehhh, to be quite honest, but I’ll share my thoughts on some of the top stories of the weekend throughout the league.

Tua Tagovailoa’s ankle injury and surgery was the biggest news coming out of college football this weekend. Will that affect their national title hopes?

The NBA season is about to get underway. I’ll get into the top storylines heading into this campaign, over/under win totals, NBA Finals predictions, as we get ready to usher in another year for the Association.

Plus, my Hero and Zero of the Week.

NFL's Final Month, MLB Winter Meetings, Heisman Trophy, NBA & NHL News

As winter slowly approaches, the sports scene heats up as I’ll dissect all that’s going on with this weeks edition of The JAYREELZ Podcast. The final quarter of the NFL season has begun and it certainly did not disappoint. Wild finishes in Miami, Oakland and Kansas City were just the start of another wacky Sunday in the NFL. Also, the Jets and Giants were both victorious on the same day in almost two years, with big contributions from their respective first round picks, Sam Darnold and Saquon Barkley. I’ll get into that and everything that took place over the weekend in Week 14 across the league. A Heisman Trophy winner has been crowned in college football. Oklahoma QB Kyler Murray gets the nod, but not without controversy. I’ll reveal what the furor was over what the QB said, and what makes for an interesting matchup with fellow nominee, Alabama QB Tua Tagovailoa in the college football playoff on December 29th. The MLB Winter Meetings commence in Las Vegas today. I’ll share what to possibly expect as we may see some big moves take place as the Hot Stove will be sure to cook up a lot of rumors over the next few days. Plus, the NHL receives a new franchise and the latest in the NBA on this weeks jam packed episode of The JAYREELZ Podcast. (Episode 43)
