JAYREELZ

There may not be any football to look forward to, but there are some hot topics to discuss in the sport, as well as, everything else that's happening as this midweek podcast is one you won't want to miss. On deck:

(3:28) As NFL games with any meaning won't be in our consciousness until September, I'll put to bed a couple of debates that have taken place since the Super Bowl this past Sunday. After his second championship in four years, is Patrick Mahomes the GOAT at the quarterback position? I don't think so at the moment. It's way too early to put him there, but I have a SIZZLING TAKE on him going into the Hall of Fame if he never played another down in his career. Is Andy Reid a top-10 coach of all time after winning another Super Bowl? The Eagle fans are still bitter as to why the slick field in Arizona slowed down their vaunted pass rush. Seriously? There were some coaching hires as former offensive and defensive coordinators (i.e. Jonathan Gannon & Shane Steichen) of the Eagles go to the Cardinals and Colts respectively. Why those were questionable in my eyes? And Derek Carr has become a free agent as he was released by the Raiders. Where is his next stop? Did someone say the Steelers?

(24:50) The end of the 'first half' of the NBA season is approaching as the All-Star Break begins tomorrow. No shock, but why All-Star Weekend doesn't pique my interest? I'll review what has taken place to date in the Association. My surprise and disappointment so far (you'll be shocked as to who my disappointment is and I have receipts to back it up) Then does home court in the playoffs really matter? Not to Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo, as he stated recently. Why I think it still matters, despite some instances that'll refute the question?

(40:07) With a Stadium Series game set for Saturday in North Carolina for the NHL as the Capitals will visit the Hurricanes, it'll be without one of the sport's great stars as Alex Ovechkin will be out indefinitely due to the passing of his father in Russia. How soon will he be back, considering that there are no direct flights from North America to that part of the world? How will his absence affect their chase for a playoff spot? There's also a new executive director for the leader of the players union as Marty Walsh will take over for Donald Fehr, who's held the title since 2010. And I'll go through my over/under point totals of the year, which is looking pretty dire considering this is my first go round predicting these numbers when it comes to competition on the ice.

(48:44) College basketball is going to be as unpredictable as ever. We're just a month away from March Madness and another #1 team bites the dust as Alabama loses to #10 Tennessee last night. Is there any clear cut favorites as of today to get to the Final Four?

(50:42) Pitchers and catchers are reporting in Arizona and Florida as baseball is back on the scene. I can't stand that the runner on second base in the 10th inning is returning this year and beyond in the regular season only, thank goodness! Met fans are familiar with this movie, Jacob deGrom has to be held back for precaution as he felt tightness in his left side. Hmmm! On the subject of pitching, the Yankees rotation has taken a couple of hits as Frankie Montas may be out for the year as he'll need shoulder surgery and Nestor Cortes may not be ready for the start of the regular season as he deals with a hamstring issue. Any concern for the Pinstripes long term?

A Great, Not Classic Super Bowl! Mahomes Magic, O-Line Unsung & Controversial Call Lead LVII. Luka-Kyrie, Celts-Bucks Close NBA 1st Half. NHL's Rangers Rolling. MLB's Back! (Sort of)
A Great, Not Classic Super Bowl! Mahomes Magic, O-Line Unsung & Controversial Call Lead LVII. Luka-K
JAYREELZ

A Super way to start off your week as I'll recap the big game and all that's happening in sports as the latest podcast has arrived. On deck:

(3:06) It was an entertaining and great game overall, but not a classic in my eyes as the Kansas City Chiefs were able to come from behind and outlast the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl LVII. I'll have a complete breakdown of everything that took place, the controversial hold at the end of the game, the performance of Patrick Mahomes, the Chiefs offensive line, the vaunted pass rush of the Eagles (or lack thereof), as well as, my critique of waiting forever to start the game, Rihanna's halftime show, the FOX broadcast booth, another year of awful commercials as we put to bed another NFL season and turn our attention to the fall and winter sports.

(32:14) First up, being the NBA. Mavericks star Luka Doncic is liking the early returns of having Kyrie Irving on his team. Could this pairing be primed for another deep postseason run? The top two teams in the East faceoff in Milwaukee tomorrow where the Celtics-Bucks will square off as we approach the All-Star Break.

(34:42) On the ice, the Rangers have some juice as their acquisition of former Blues winger Vladimir Tarasenko has paid early dividends as they've won five in a row. Why this could be a big trade for the Blueshirts to put them over the top? The Golden Knights have leapfrogged over the Kraken out West as they're without their leading scorer (i.e. Andre Burakovsky).

(38:58) Purdue loses for the second straight Sunday, this time to Northwestern. Will they be knocked off from the #1 ranking in the nation this time around? Before you know it, March Madness will be here as it begins one month from tomorrow!

(40:38) It's that time, baseball fans. Pitchers and catchers will report before weeks' end in the MLB. I'll briefly discuss the World Baseball Classic (WBC) as it's on the horizon next month. Plus, the Padres re-up Yu Darvish on a six year extension to keep him in San Diego for the rest of his career.

(44:21) Now that the NFL season is done, we've officially entered The Sports Dead Zone, Part 1. Not to worry, I'll explain in full detail.

Low To No Super Bowl Hype? Preview Of Chiefs-Eagles. NFL HOF Class Of 2023. LeBron: Most Complete Career? KD Jumps Ship/Delusional Kyrie/Nets Questionable Owner Leads NBA! Rangers Trade For 'Tank'
Low To No Super Bowl Hype? Preview Of Chiefs-Eagles. NFL HOF Class Of 2023. LeBron: Most Complete C
JAYREELZ

It's going to be a SUPER podcast as the NFL will crown a champion, a new all time scoring leader in the NBA and a gigantic trade that could shift the balance in the Western Conference, you know I'll have plenty to dissect and disseminate as I close out the week on a strong note. On deck:

(2:45) Super Bowl LVII is just about here. I'll take the temperature of all the hype and preparation leading up to kickoff between the Chiefs and Eagles, the key points for both teams, a prediction of who'll win as we say goodbye to another NFL season. I'll get into the newly minted Hall of Fame Class of 2023 as Darrelle Revis, Joe Thomas, Ronde Barber, Demarcus Ware, Zach Thomas among others, represent a strong defensive contingent that will be enshrined in Canton later this year. Who was worthy of making the Hall? You know I've got lots to say about this. Also, the retirement of Bengals & Cardinals receiver AJ Green and Tom Brady will wait a year to join FOX as his megadeal will begin in 2024.

(35:54) LeBron James made history on Tuesday night as he surpassed Kareem Abdul-Jabbar for the all-time scoring leader in the NBA. Has he had the most complete career of anyone in league history? Then you had another blockbuster deal in Brooklyn right before yesterday's trade deadline. Kyrie Irving was shipped to Dallas earlier this week, then Kevin Durant was packaged with TJ Warren to Phoenix for a boatload of #1 picks, Cam Johnson, Mikal Bridges and Jae Crowder. Why I'm disappointed in KD's decision, how NBA player empowerment strikes again and what his legacy could look like moving forward is something that I haven't heard anywhere else! As for Kyrie, how his comments of being disrespected by the Nets, being a selfless leader and leaving his former team in fourth place? His delusions of grandeur isn't fooling this guy! As for the Net organization (particularly the owner, Joe Tsai) my theory of a brilliant businessman doesn't mean he can lead a professional basketball team. I'll get into some of the other trades that took place (D'Angelo Russell & Mo Bamba to the Lakers, Russell Westbrook to Utah, Eric Gordon to the Clippers, James Wiseman to Detroit, et. al.) as the All-Star Break is just a week away.

(58:03) As for what's happening on the ice, the Rangers procure a former Stanley Cup winning goal scorer from St. Louis in Vladimir Tarasenko adds more punch on their frontline and championship experience in the locker room. There's been some key injuries to star players (i.e. Cale Makar, Jack Hughes and Andre Burakovsky) as they do their best to get back on the mend for the stretch run in a long regular season.

NFL Needs A Good Super Bowl To Save Their Season! No More Pro Bowl & Concussion Talk. Kyrie Era In BK & Future/NBA Turned WWE? NHL's Ratings Plunge/2nd Half Preview/Isles: All In On Horvat
NFL Needs A Good Super Bowl To Save Their Season! No More Pro Bowl & Concussion Talk. Kyrie Era In B
JAYREELZ

February is in full swing. Although the sports world is a little light at the moment, I have some interesting nuggets to provoke some thought as the latest podcast has arrived. On deck:

(2:48) After a brief explanation of how I'm a little (sports) cranky this morning, Super Bowl week has arrived. There isn't much to discuss at the moment. PROGRAMMING NOTE: I'll delve into my preview of the game with analysis and a prediction on Friday's podcast as I'll postpone it by a day. The few takes I'll have on the NFL are the following: how the league needs a good to great game to punctuate a rather lackluster season. The scenario regarding concussions in the sport as they went up 18% compared to last year. And the Pro Bowl? The Pro Bowl! How I did not spend one nanosecond watching this flag football exhibition as I hope you did the same!

(13:09) The Kyrie Irving tenure/saga is now officially over. He requested a trade last Friday since the organization wasn't going to re-sign him to a long term extension. The Brooklyn Nets ship him and another player to Dallas for a couple of players and three draft picks. Did the front office do the right thing? How will this chapter of Nets history be remembered? What does Kyrie's future look like in Dallas? Or elsewhere? What about Kevin Durant? What do you think he's feeling after hitching his wagon to Brooklyn with Kyrie? As for what's happened on the court, we've had a couple of incidents that's reminiscent of WWE? Thursday night, Cavaliers Donovan Mitchell gets into it with Grizzlies Dillon Brooks (NBA's Public Enemy #1 at the moment) as the latter was suspended for a game. A night later, Magic's Mo Bamba and Timberwolves Austin Rivers got into a scrum to where they were both suspended (four games for Bamba, three for Rivers) for their actions. Steph Curry will be on the shelf until at least after the All-Star Break. He suffered partial tears to ligaments in his knee on Saturday night vs. the Mavericks. Even with this injury, I think the Warriors are toast this year.

(34:20) The All-Star Break in the NHL has come and gone. I'll share why I did not watch or get into this version of the game in South Florida. I'll explain a couple of reasons why viewership is down more than 20%, even WITH games being broadcast on ESPN/ABC & TNT. I'll preview the 'second half' as the East is top heavy at the moment (i.e. Bruins & Hurricanes) while out West it's as wide open as we've seen in some time. Plus, the Islanders not only get the goal scorer they desperately need (i.e. Bo Horvat) but they've signed him to a long term deal. Is there a lot of pressure for the new acquisition to not only succeed, but to fulfill his large contract?

(50:40) Purdue is the latest team in the nation to get bounced from the ranks of being #1 as this unpredictable, topsy-turvy college basketball season (which is one I'd rather have, than to have the usual North Carolina, Duke and Kentucky ruling the top of the sport) continues to surprise us, day in and day out.

Brady Retires! Is FOX on deck? Parallels With LeBron? Payton/Wilson Marriage In Denver. NBA's Log Jam Out West. A Wide Open College B-Ball Field: Yay Or Nay? Isles Big Trade/NHL 'First Half' Review
Brady Retires! Is FOX on deck? Parallels With LeBron? Payton/Wilson Marriage In Denver. NBA's Log Ja
JAYREELZ

A new month delivers a new podcast with quite a bit to sink our teeth into when it comes to sports. On deck:

(2:43) The time has finally come! Legendary quarterback Tom Brady has announced his retirement first ballot Hall of Famer and also make a comparison to another giant in his sport (i.e. LeBron James) as to the impact they've had on the sports landscape over the first quarter of the 21st century. I'll get into the new head coaches in Houston (i.e. DeMeco Ryans) and Denver (i.e. Sean Payton) Is there any hope that Russell Wilson will turn his career around with the former Super Bowl winning head coach? A new offensive coordinator in LA with the Chargers (i.e. Kellen Moore) The diagnosis of 49ers QB, Brock Purdy's right elbow and how it affects their 2023 season.

(27:28) Mavericks guard, Luka Doncic returns with a 53 point game after spraining his ankle the week before in Phoenix. The West looks like it's going to be a battle royale from the fifth seed down as eight teams are separated by 3.5 games. While the East is top heavy with teams like Boston, Milwaukee, Philadelphia and Brooklyn leading the pack.

(31:17) March Madness in college basketball is six weeks from today. The question I've been keeping you all in suspense over the past week. Do you like the way this season is unfolding to where it's wide open for a tournament winner? Or would you rather have the North Carolina's , Duke's & Kentucky teams always patrolling to the top of the rankings and have just a handful of teams be the favorite to win it all? I'll belatedly discuss the passing of former analyst, Billy Packer, who died of kidney failure last week.

(41:27) As the NHL hits the All-Star Break down in South Florida, the Islanders made a big move a month before the trade deadline, acquiring Canucks forward Bo Horvat. Could this be the shot in the arm that they need to get back to the postseason? Will they be able to re-sign him? The sport has lost another all-time great as Bobby Hull passed away on Monday at the age of 84. I'll review what took place over the 'first half' of the season to date, the biggest surprise and disappointment so far and will set you up for a 'second half' preview once the weekend is complete.

Eagles Cruise, Mahomes Guts As Super Bowl's Set. Plus, Rodgers/Pack Eventual Split? Lakers Non Call (Or Not?), More Load Mgmt? NHL Canes Surging. Novak's 10th Aussie. Is He The GOAT?
Eagles Cruise, Mahomes Guts As Super Bowl's Set. Plus, Rodgers/Pack Eventual Split? Lakers Non Call
JAYREELZ

The end of January may be near, but another fiery, passion filled podcast is even closer as I bring the fury and energy on all that's happening in sports. On deck:

(2:42) Super Bowl LVII is set. The Eagles and Chiefs are the last two teams standing as the NFC Championship Game was a big letdown due to the injury of 49ers quarterback, Brock Purdy. In the AFC, it was a fight to the finish as it boiled down to the guts of Chiefs QB, Patrick Mahomes and a personal foul that set up the game winning field goal for Kansas City as they get back to their third Super Bowl in four years. I'll have complete analysis of both games, some early storylines for the big game in two weeks, plus some off the field news involving Aaron Rodgers (a rant that you definitely won't want to miss), former Broncos coach Nathaniel Hackett (now Jets offensive coordinator, another rant, I might add) and Frank Reich is your new coach in Carolina where the previous coach, Steve Wilks, got a raw deal.

(37:13) It was another down to the wire Lakers-Celtics contest, Saturday night in Boston. It was quite obvious that LeBron James was fouled in the final seconds of regulation in a tie game, but the officials missed a call prior to the controversial non call that no one discussed. As the game went into overtime, what was coach Darvin Ham thinking by some of the moves he made and the effort of his team as they eventually fell to the Celtics? With the Lakers coming to New York the early part of this week, why is it that LeBron AND Anthony Davis are sitting out before they play the Nets tonight? Load management, anyone? (You guessed it, another rant!) The recent ankle injury to Mavericks guard, Luka Doncic. I'll get into the log jam out West from seeds 4-13. And the Sixers are emerging as a threat to the Celtics in the East behind MVP candidate, Joel Embiid as we're a couple of weeks away from the All-Star Break.

(48:10 ) Just as I was praising the Boston Bruins and their regular season record setting pace on Thursday's podcast, they're in the middle of a three game losing streak. They lost last night to the Carolina Hurricanes, who are playing well. Do the Canes have what it takes to threaten the Bruins and the rest of the East?

(51:02) Novak Djokovic wins his tenth Australian Open and his 22nd Grand Slam overall, tying Rafael Nadal for first all time. With the next major not until May at the French Open, which by the way, is Nadal's favorite surface, will the two greats be on a collision course for title #23? Also, is Novak Djokovic the greatest men's player of all time? Aryna Sabalenka wins her first major on the women's side, defeating Elena Rybakina as the first Grand Slam of the year comes to a conclusion.

(55:35) Two weeks from tomorrow, pitchers and catchers will report in MLB. There are a couple of things to bring up off the field. Angels owner, Arte Moreno needs to put his money where his mouth is as he's not going to sell the team and do his best to bring a World Series back to Anaheim. If that's the case, he MUST sign former MVP, Shohei Ohtani to a long term deal. The latest with White Sox pitcher Mike Clevinger as he's being investigated for domestic and child abuse. And Jeff McNeil signs an extension with the Mets as their payroll continues to balloon.

Purdy's Luck, Bengals Energy, Mahomes's Ankle As Championship Sunday On Deck. LeBron Watch On Scoring Record. Kobe: 3 Years Later. NHL's Bruins: Cup Win Or Bust? Scott Rolen: Hall Of Famer? PLEASE!
Purdy's Luck, Bengals Energy, Mahomes's Ankle As Championship Sunday On Deck. LeBron Watch On Scorin
JAYREELZ

Another feisty, passionate hour of sports talk delivered to your favorite device as I survey the entire sports landscape. On deck:

(3:10) After a brief mention of Scott Rolen being inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame, which I'll go IN on at the back end of the podcast, the NFL has its final Sunday (I don't count the Super Bowl) as Championship Sunday draws near with both the AFC & NFC Title Games for the right to go to Glendale, AZ to play in Super Bowl LVII. Will the clock strike twelve on Brock Purdy? Will Jalen Hurts continue his dream MVP season against the best defense in football? Have the Bengals peaked after last weeks dominating performance vs. Buffalo? And the health of Patrick Mahomes's right ankle are the biggest storylines heading into these critical contests. I'll have predictions, what I think is the best Super Bowl matchup as I prepare you for what should be a compelling and riveting pair of Championship Games.

(30:21) It's time to start the LeBron Watch as he's just 158 points away from becoming the NBA's All-Time Leading Scorer, that has been held for decades by Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. When may he break it? Anthony Davis is back in the lineup for LA as he chips in 21 points and 12 rebounds in a win before they make their way East. Sadly, today I'll reflect on the three year anniversary of the tragic passing of Lakers legend, Kobe Bryant, and the impact he's had on me since his death. I'll take a peek at the Ben Simmons-Joel Embiid battle in Philadelphia last night. And the Pelicans have been slipping out West, with no sight of Zion Williamson coming to save them in the near future.

(41:24) Is there any team in the NHL that can slow down the juggernaut that is the Boston Bruins this year? There are on a pace to have the most wins and points in regular season history. Is it Stanley Cup Champions or bust for the B's?

(46:59) Purdue is back to being #1 in the nation when it comes to college basketball. Break up the Georgetown Hoyas as they snapped their 29 game losing streak in the Big East. But I have a question that I'll bring up in next Thursday's podcast that'll be sure to get the biggest college hoops fan thinking on how this season could play out.

(48:05) The Australian Open is into the homestretch as Novak Djokovic is looking like the clear cut champion on the men's side (and what that may do for the French Open if he faces Rafael Nadal) On the woman's side, Victoria Azarenka may be the favorite heading into the final which will conclude the first Grand Slam of the year over the weekend. I'll have a complete recap of it all on Monday's pod.

(49:59) Scott Rolen has been voted into the Baseball Hall of Fame by the Baseball Writers. What did these writers watch? I'll have a FULL deep dive on why she should NOT have been elected into Cooperstown?

Bengals Beatdown, Bills Undressed. Hurts Responds Big! Is Dak The Answer? Headline Subpar Divisional
JAYREELZ

Your favorite little podcast host is back on the scene with another action packed, rapid fire, passionate filled hour of sports talk surveying the entire market for your one stop shopping needs. On deck:

(2:49) We're now down to the final four in the NFL. The Divisional Round left us wanting a little bit more considering the anticipation of the best weekend the league has to offer. Was there any doubt that Kansas City was going to win vs. Jacksonville, even with Patrick Mahomes compromised with a high ankle sprain? Speaking of doubts, so much for Jalen Hurts playing tentative wondering if he would respond in a big way after playing in one game over the last five weeks. The Bengals put a hurting on the Buffalo Bills in their backyard as they embarrassed the AFC East Champions. And the 49ers won a hard fought, defensive battle in a not so impressive low scoring affair. I'll also delve into the outlook for the losing teams and their future (Jaguars looks bright. Giants, the same? Bills licking their wounds as they have to wait another year. Is Dak Prescott the guy to lead the Cowboys to the promised land?) I'll take a peek into Conference Championship Sunday as we're literally three games until the conclusion of another season.

(39:13) In the NBA, the Grizzlies were riding an 11 game winning streak into LA vs. the Lakers last Friday night. The big story was NFL Hall of Famer, Shannon Sharpe getting under the Grizzlies players skin as there was a confrontation right before the half courtside as Memphis ending up losing. Was Sharpe out of line? Should the Grizzlies not have gotten involved? The Celtics lose two key pieces to their team as both Marcus Smart and Robert Williams suffer injuries as their winning streak hits nine on Saturday. Anthony Davis is set to return to the Lakers this week as he's been nursing a foot ailment. What will that do to a Laker team that's looking to get back to .500 with an East Coast trip looming?

(45:44) The top two teams in the nation were upset at home over the weekend. TCU storms into #2 Kansas and destroys the Jayhawks handing coach, Bill Self, his second worst losss at home. And #1 Houston was shocked by Temple as the Owls eked out a win as this wild and unpredictable college basketball season continues to not disappoint.

(49:28) There's a new sheriff in Vancouver as Bruce Boudreau was fired and replaced by former Lightning & Coyote coach, Rick Tocchet. The Hurricanes will not have Max Pacioretty in the lineup as he'll be out with a torn Achilles. What does this do for a team that needs goal scoring? Speaking of which, Avalanche forward Nathan MacKinnon is back as his squad is on a five game win streak, looking to get back in the playoff mix out West.

(53:49) Pitchers and catchers will report throughout MLB in, count 'em, three weeks. A big trade was made between the Marlins and Twins where pitcher Pablo Lopez goes to Minnesota and INF Luis Arraez, the reigning AL batting champ goes to South Florida. Plus, a couple of other signings involving a return home for Andrew McCutchen in Pittsburgh and Aroldis Chapman (Royals). Some sad news came down over the weekend as Sal Bando, the former A's 3B of their early 70's dynasty, dies of cancer at the age of 78.

(58:50) Three top seeds were ousted at the Australian Open as we head into the second week. On the men's side, #2 Casper Ruud was bounced in four sets, while on the women's side both #1 Iga Swiatek and #2 Ons Jabeur were taken care of pretty handily. The women's side is more intriguing, in my opinion, whereas Novak Djokovic is your clear cut winner to come out as champion later this week.

Hurts's Health, Bengals-Bills & 49ers Firepower Headline Divisional Round. NBA Finals Rematch, Grizz
JAYREELZ

A rather quiet week in sports isn't going to stop yours truly as another fast paced, action packed sports podcast is coming at ya. On deck:

(2:43) The NFL Divisional Playoff weekend is almost here. I have a couple of interesting storylines with the #1 seeds in each conference being re-introduced to our consciousness (i.e. The physical condition and psyche of Eagles QB, Jalen Hurts. And the Chiefs been there, done that mentality of the road going through them in the conference. Plus, Andy Reid's penchant for poor clock management in big games) with complete breakdowns of all four matchups, predictions and what would be the best case scenario in the AFC & NFC Title Games for CBS & FOX as we inch closer to crowning a champion in Glendale, AZ next month.

(35:09) An NBA Finals rematch takes place tonight as the Celtics are in the middle of a seven game winning streak, while the Warriors are still trying to find their way out West. The hottest team in the sport are the Memphis Grizzlies as they've won 11 in a row, not gaining much ground on a Nuggets team that has won eight straight at the top of the conference. I'll share the latest on the court throughout the Association as most teams are closing in on the 50 games played mark.

(40:56) It's good to see Oilers forward, Evander Kane back from a serious wrist injury as he took a skate blade over it back in November. He was to be out of the lineup for three to four months, but returned a little over two months. I'll get into what's happening on the ice as the Devils are starting to heat up. The Bruins continue to sizzle as the best team in the sport. At this pace, it's Stanley Cup Champs or bust for the B's.

(45:27) We're just two months away from March Madness. I'll review what's going on in college basketball as there have been some big surprises to date, from teams we'd never expect to be in the Top 25.

(50:53) It's been a ho-hum Australian Open so far. Notwithstanding, Rafael Nadal becoming the first major player to be ousted from the tournament in straight sets to Mackenzie McDonald. Is this the beginning of the end for the all-time great?

A 'Wild & Crazy' Super Wild Card Weekend Headlined By Charger Collapse, Awful Play Calls & Daniel Jones Elite? Taking NHL's Kraken Seriously? RIP Gino Odjick. Australian Open Preview
A 'Wild & Crazy' Super Wild Card Weekend Headlined By Charger Collapse, Awful Play Calls & Daniel Jo
JAYREELZ

It's a 'wild' and crazy podcast as NFL Super Wild Card Weekend was a lot more than what I expected. Here to break it all down and everything else that's happening in sports as the latest edition has arrived. On deck:

(3:19) Who would've thought that out of the five games over the NFL Super Wild Card Weekend, four of them would go almost to the wire? That's what we got as I'll delve into all that took place in each of the five games played over the last couple of days. The Seahawks hung tough for two and a a half quarters, but the 49ers took over to a 41-23 win. It was another epic Charger meltdown in their playoff history as I detail the brutal postseason defeats in this century, topped by the 27-0 lead over Jacksonville that turned into a 31-30 defeat. The Dolphins surprised up in Buffalo (with a couple of breaks along the way) against a Bills team that I have a theory about and won't be long for this postseason if they play this way. Miami's play calling (as well as the Vikings and Ravens) were the theme of the day as they were clueless on two occasions in this game, which I explain. Is Daniel Jones elite as he pushes his Giants team to victory in Minnesota? And Ravens-Bengals was typical AFC North football as it came down to one bone-headed decision which turned the game around. I'll also get into the final Wild Card matchup between the Cowboys-Buccaneers. Why I'm hoping for Dallas to win? The AFC Title Game is being played in Atlanta? REALLY? Sean McVay stays on board to coach the Rams and a look to the Divisional Round next week.

(45:36) Are we going to have to take the Seattle Kraken seriously? They're not only the hottest team in the NHL, but made history along the way with a seven game road trip that were all victorious. The first of its kind ever! I owe an apology to you, the listener, in regards to the All-Star Break and what I stated last week. There's some sad news to report as I'll remember former Canucks tough guy, Gino Odjick, who passed away yesterday at the age of 52.

(54:41) The NBA is relatively quiet as I touch on another injury (John Wall) with the Clippers, a throwback to the old Alamodome for the Spurs and Russell Westbrook dribbles out the final seconds without a shot in a loss to the Lakers last night.

(56:53) Tennis's first Grand Slam is here as the Australian Open is underway. I'll preview who's back (Novak Djokovic) and who's missing (Carlos Alcaraz, Nick Kyrgios, Naomi Osaka, etc.) with predictions as to who'll win to kick off the calendar year.

JAYREELZ

Back on my mid-week podcast grind as I bring the pain on all that's going on throughout the sports landscape. On deck:

(2:35) NFL fans rejoice as Wild Card Weekend is upon us. I'll delve into every nook and cranny with what will take place as the playoffs get underway. I'll have all of the top storylines (i.e. rematches from the regular season, Brock Purdy, Dak Prescott/Cowboys, and much more) heading into this round, predictions as to who'll move onto the Divisional Round and why we may have to wait until Monday night to have an exciting game to watch from start to finish? I'll also get into the two coaches who were fired this week. Texans Lovie Smith and Cardinals Kliff Kingsbury have been shown the door. What can we possibly expect from both franchises as they head into the offseason with plenty on their collective plates?

(33:32) The Georgia Bulldogs showed why they're the best team in college football, drubbing TCU 65-7 in the National Championship Game. Sadly, former USC tailback & Heisman Trophy winner, Charles White, passed away at the age of 78.

(38:49) Kevin Durant will be on the shelf for a month when he suffered a knee injury in Miami on Sunday. How will the Nets fare without their MVP candidate? Donovan Mitchell made his first trip as a visitor to Utah, dropping 46 points in a loss. How was the reception from the home crowd upon his return? Speaking of which, Steph Curry is back in the lineup after a long absence due to a shoulder injury. Are the Warriors primed to make a run in the West? How about the Heat's perfection at the free throw line (40-40) vs. OKC as they eked out a win vs. the Thunder. I'll get a handle on all that's happening in the Association, especially some separation out West with the top eight seeds in the conference for the first time all year.

(45:28) The NHL is a week and change away from their All-Star Break. Not a lot to report as we're at the halfway point of the season.

(48:15) The Carlos Correa Soap Opera has FINALLY concluded. He re-signs with the Twins as we can put this saga to bed. Was this a good deal, considering he had THREE OTHER DEALS on the table, but settled for this one? And where do the Mets go to try to add and put them over the top? What in the world is going on with Red Sox INF Trevor Story? He'll need Tommy John surgery to repair his UCL in his throwing arm. Why did he wait too long to have this procedure now that he'll be out to the All-Star Break?

It's a playoff/championship feel as the latest edition has arrived with plenty of pro and college football, sprinkled in with other sports to whet your appetite. On deck:

(2:58) There was a quite a bit of activity in the NFL over the past few days. For starters, I'll get into the progress of the health regarding Bills safety, Damar Hamlin, as things continue to look brighter as the days pass on. I'll discuss the league's plan of this postseason (i.e. not resuming the Bills-Bengals regular season game, an AFC Championship Game potentially being at a neutral site, not forgoing the bye week between the Conference Title Games and the Super Bowl, Media Day at the Super Bowl, the regular season being too long) as I get on my soapbox sharing my deepest thoughts on the above. YOU'VE BEEN WARNED! Of course, I'll cap off Week 18 with my winners (i.e. Jacksonville & Miami) and losers (i.e. Las Vegas & Green Bay) and some of the other matchups that had playoff implications (including my beloved Steelers who fell short). Plus, a couple of storylines of what to look forward to on Wild Card Weekend.

(41:21) A National Champion will be crowned in college football tonight as TCU tries to pull off another upset as they face the defending champs in Georgia. Do they have a shot? Are they able to compete straight up without getting the breaks they did in the previous game against Michigan? Will Georgia's close call vs. Ohio State be the catalyst for playing a lot crisper this time around? I'll predict what may take place as the college football season comes to a close.

(49:01) The Nets are holding their collective breaths as Kevin Durant went down with a knee injury that needs an MRI. How long will he be out? The Clippers and Suns have been skidding out West mired in big losing streaks as they're hovering around the play in bracket as far as seeding is concerned.

(52:55) The Capitals get back a couple of reinforcements from within as Nicklas Backstrom and Tom Wilson are back in the lineup for the first time all year. Jack Eichel makes a return to the Golden Knights after missing some time with a lower body injury. The Hurricanes have been relegated to a slight breeze as they've now lost three in a row after an eleven game winning streak. And the Bruins remain on fire as they're on a historic pace of wins and points this season.

(55:54) As for the MLB, Trevor Bauer has been released by the Dodgers last week. Where does he end up? Will a GM take a flyer on the former Cy Young Award winner?

(59:08) The first Grand Slam of the tennis season begins next week at the Australian Open, but it'll be without one of its biggest players as Carlos Alcaraz has to withdraw with a leg injury. Also, not in your scorecard will be Naomi Osaka, Simona Halep and Venus Williams. As for Alcaraz, are his injuries something will have to keep an eye on as he becomes the next great champion in the sport?

(1:01:37) UFC president, Dana White, recently admitted and apologized for an incident in a Mexico club with his wife as they engaged in a physical altercation. He was contrite, exhibited ownership and accountability for his actions, which were indefensible. Is there a possible punishment for his in the near future?

Damar Hamlin's Health, NFL Week 18 & Possible Playoff Schedule. NBA Career Highs/Zion H
JAYREELZ

A somber, yet busy sports week leads into another entertaining and jam packed podcast. On deck:

(2:51) The NFL and sports world was shaken by the incident in Cincinnati on Monday night as Bills safety Damar Hamlin collapsed to the turf as he went into cardiac arrest. His recovery has shown improvement, but there's still a way to go as far as him being 100% healthy. Which leads to the intrigue of the upcoming schedule. When will they replay the Bills-Bengals game? How this affects the AFC playoff picture? Most of all, what does the upcoming postseason schedule look like? I'll look into my crystal ball to tell you what I think the NFL will do and what the NFL should do? It's an interesting debate as we find some closure on the regular season, while preparing for the road to the Super Bowl.

(28:02) The NBA had some big time scoring outputs this week with a couple of career highs for Giannis Antetekounmpo (55 points) and Donovan Mitchell (71 points. The most since the late, great Kobe Bryant's 81 back in 2006.) The Celtics gave up how many points to the Oklahoma City Thunder without their best player in the lineup? A player that'll be out of the lineup for a few weeks is Pelicans forward, Zion Williamson with a hamstring injury. Could he be out longer than that considering his history with health? I'll take a trip around the Association, including the Nets getting their 11 game winning streak snapped by the Bulls last night.

(35:21) The NHL had its Winter Classic on Monday in Boston as the Penguins faced off against the Bruins. I'll recap a wonderful setting on a balmy January day, the Bruins success at home, indoors or out and a peek to next year's Winter Classic in Seattle of all places.

(39:58) There was some activity in baseball as far as a major signing (no, not Carlos Correa) but Rafael Devers re-signs with the Red Sox for 11 years/$331 million dollars. Was this a case of too little, too late appeasing the fan base after losing out on former shortstop, Xander Bogaerts?

(45:00) For the second year in a row, Rutgers upsets Purdue, the #1 seed in the country in surprising fashion. Then there are the Georgetown Hoyas, as they did something unimaginable. They've lost 25 consecutive Big East conference games, which is a record. What does this mean for the future of legendary figure Patrick Ewing as coach of the team?

TCU Toughness, Georgia Resiliency Prevails In College Football Playoff. 49ers: Possible #1 Seed? Ste
JAYREELZ

The holidays are behind us, but the New Year continues to deliver more action packed, fast paced sports talk like no other. On deck:

(4:12) College football hit a grand slam on Saturday (and is arguably the third most popular sport in the country). Even with the excitement and drama of the semifinal matchups, these games are WAY TOO LONG as I'll explain. TCU got the breaks they needed and their defense put up a big stop at the end as Michigan fails to get to the Championship Game for the second year in a row. Ohio State was valiant, but Georgia showed their resiliency and mettle as they rose to the occasion, coming from behind to beat the Buckeyes as their last second field goal attempt went wide left. I'll break it all down with a look ahead to some thoughts on next Monday's title game in Los Angeles.

(23:39) There were a couple of twists and turns in the NFL this week as seeding has changed in some spots. I'll discuss the winners (i.e. 49ers, Steelers) and losers (i.e. Panthers, Vikings), a huge Monday night game that could determine who could end up with the top seed in the conference. The possibilities of the Niners getting the #1 seed in the NFC. Also, what's happening at the bottom of the AFC/NFC playoff bracket as we're closing in on the final week of the season.

(50:23) LeBron James records 47 points, 10 rebounds and nine assists on his 38th birthday, no less! Why are some people still not putting respect on this man's name?

(52:18) Alexander Ovechkin continues to rack up goals (and hat tricks) as the Capitals...and Hurricanes stay hot in the NHL.

(54:04) Don't look now, but in six weeks, pitchers and catchers will report in Arizona and Florida for spring training in MLB.

(54:53) Another sports legend has passed as world renowned soccer player, Pele, passed away last week at the age of 82.

JAYREELZ

Closing out the year in grand style as I deliver the final podcast of 2022. Make sure you get your sports fix right here as this is what's on deck:

(3:25) There were a lot of interesting developments over the past few days in the NFL leading up to the final Sunday of 2022. Carson Wentz has been inserted as the starter again in Washington with destiny in their hands for the postseason. Will he be able to push the Commanders into the NFC playoffs? Nathaniel Hackett was fired after the Christmas debacle in LA vs. the Rams. No surprise there as he was awful from day one. Derek Carr has been benched by Raiders coach, Josh McDaniels for the remainder of the season. Is this the end for the Vegas quarterback? JJ Watt will retire at season's end from the NFL. A future Hall of Famer? Yes. An automatic top defensive lineman of all time? Hmmm. I'll go through the intriguing matchup of the weekend (i.e. Miami-New England, Carolina-Tampa Bay, Minnesota-Green Bay, among a few others) and share some thoughts on what could take place as we're ten days away from the end of another NFL season. Dreadfully, I'll go through my over/under win totals for the year, which wasn't anything to write home about. In fact, one of my picks was an embarrassment!

(28:39) We finally get to the College Football Playoff, which will kick off on Saturday. Does TCU have a shot to upset Michigan? Is this Michigan's year, based on their semifinal loss last year? Can the Georgia machine be slowed down? What about Ohio State and their chances to dethrone the defending champions? I'll preview both games, what to possibly expect and predict who'll play for the National Championship Monday, January 9th?

(38:59) Don't look now, but the Brooklyn Nets are the hottest team in the NBA. Kevin Durant is playing at an MVP level. Kyrie Irving has been huge in some fourth quarters lately. They've been healthy recently. Is this the team that we've come to expect to being close to or at the top of the Association? There were a couple of big time blown leads over the past few nights. The Clippers came back and won, trailing by 14 with three minutes to go in Detroit. And the Mavericks had to overcome a nine point deficit with 33 seconds to go on the back of Luka Doncic's historic triple double (60 pts., 21 rebounds, 10 assists). Devin Booker is out of the lineup for at least four weeks with a groin strain as the Suns try to tread water without their All-Star guard.

(49:09) The Bruins continue their torrid play on the ice. They're on pace for 60 wins and 130 points as they disposed the Devils last night. But the Hurricanes are also hot, winners of nine straight. And the Capitals have also gotten in a little groove in the Metropolitan Division as they've been streaking on the road (six in a row) and have won 10 of 11 overall.

(52:16) What is the latest with Carlos Correa officially becoming a New York Met? I have some thoughts on when we can possibly get some closure on this. Plus a couple of signings (Nathan Eovaldi, Corey Kluber) and the Braves sign Sean Murphy which reinforces how Atlanta is building their team...the right way!

(56:34) I send a shout out to YOU! I thank you all for supporting and following me throughout the past year. It goes without saying, how important your participation is and will be moving forward. I greatly and sincerely appreciate it.

Race to NFL Playoffs Builds With GB, JAX Looking Up. MIA, TEN Going South. A So-So NBA X-Mas Day. A
JAYREELZ

With the Christmas weekend behind us, I have one last gift for your stocking as I share all of my thoughts on the entire sports landscape. On deck:

(3:21) We're down to the final two weeks of the NFL regular season. Week 16 didn't disappoint as they were teams trending up (i.e. Panthers, Jaguars, Packers) and some heading south (i.e. Titans, Dolphins, Commanders) as the above, among others, are jockeying for position to get into the postseason. I'll break down all that took place over the weekend and where we're at to date as the AFC & NFC playoff picture becomes clearer.

(33:46) The NBA had their annual Christmas Day slate of five games, which didn't live up to the hype. Sixers-Knicks was competitive until the fourth quarter, before Philly took over and won. And what's this about James Harden possibly making a return to Houston at the end of the season? (CORRECTION: I made a mention of Tyrese Maxey returning soon to the Sixers lineup. I accidentally called him Tyrone. My apologies for the faux pas.) The Mavericks put up 51 third quarter points on LeBron & company as they take care of the Lakers. The Celtics pull away with a big win vs. the Bucks. Memphis was no match for Golden State as they try to become rivals with some trash talk. And Nikola Jokic shows why he's a two time, back to back MVP as he records another triple double in a win vs. the Suns.

(41:50) On the ice, things have been super quiet. As in, no games have been played since late last week. I don't recall the NHL taking a few days off over the Christmas holiday in years past. Maybe the NBA & NFL had something to do with it. The two big recent developments have been Alexander Ovechkin surpassing Gordie Howe for number two all time on the career goal scoring list. And the Hurricanes have blown by the Devils in the Metropolitan Division as Carolina has won eight in a row, while New Jersey has dropped eight of their last 11. The Winter Classic is on deck next Monday as the Flyers visit Boston to play the Bruins in Fenway Park.

(45:44) This Mets/Carlos Correa soap opera is starting to irritate me. The two parties are "working through" the medical issues that hung up the original deal between Correa and the Giants. Well, I have an excellent idea to solve this once and for all. Then you have former Cy Young Award winner, Trevor Bauer (remember him?) reinstated back into the MLB. Will the Dodgers release him? Or bring him back for his final year of his contract? There were a couple of minor signings that transpired. Craig Kimbrel signs a one year deal with Philadelphia. Former Mets OF Michael Conforto inks a two year deal with San Francisco. Same for relief pitcher, Taylor Rogers as he joins his twin brother Tyler in the bullpen on the Giants as well.

(55:01) Stephan Bonnar, who was part of The Ultimate Fighter reality show which put the UFC on the map and grew the sport exponentially because of it, dies at the age of 45 a few days ago due to heart complications.

JAYREELZ

The weather outside is frightful, but the sports world is so delightful. I'll have some shiny gifts under the tree, but some coal in a stocking or two as I spread some cheers and jeers over the next hour. On deck:

(3:58) After a birthday shoutout and sending well wishes to those celebrating Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa during this holiday season, I begin the podcast with the shocking news of legendary Steelers RB, Franco Harris, passing away at the age of 72. He transitions just days before the 50th anniversary of the greatest play in NFL history (The Immaculate Reception), the docuseries 'A Football Life' that will air Friday night on the anniversary of the play, then have his number retired on Christmas Eve where the Raiders invade Pittsburgh, which are the two teams in the divisional playoff game 50 years prior that made this play famous. Week 16 has a few interesting matchups, including the Thursday night contest between the top two quarterbacks drafted in 2021 (Jaguars Trevor Lawrence and the Jets Zach Wilson) as both are fighting to position themselves in the AFC playoff hunt. I'll go through a laughable Christmas Day schedule, but highlight the key games that'll have postseason implications as we're down to the final couple of weeks of the year. I'll also get into where the NFL Sunday Ticket is moving to after almost three decades with DirecTV.

(29:21) I make a brief mention of the NHL as it's relatively quiet. The Hurricanes have stormed to the top of the Metropolitan Division, tied with the Devils. Besides that, all is pretty mellow.

(29:53) What's not mellow is the activity of the New York Mets this offseason. They shockingly sign Carlos Correa as his deal with the Giants bottomed out due to red flags regarding his medical past. There is SO much to unpack here. The amount owner Steve Cohen has spent this offseason, the payroll ballooning to over $380 million dollars, the pressure and expectation of this team, the bullseye on their back, which all culminates to one thing. They are the new Evil Empire. I'll touch on a few signings over the past few days (i.e. Seth Lugo, Noah Syndergaard, etc.) as I believe the free agent period will start to quiet down after an active past couple of weeks.

(47:03) There's a new owner in the NBA circles as Mat Ishbia, a CEO of a mortgage lending company has purchased the Suns and Mercury for a record $4 billion dollars. We can say good riddance to erstwhile owner Robert Sarver and all of his baggage and filth over the past several years. What's going on with the Warriors? They'll limp home after a 1-5 road trip, where on the back end lost to the Knicks and Nets by 38 and 30, respectively. Is there something going on behind the scenes as they try to get their season on track? I'll debate the 2023 nominees for the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame. We know Gregg Popovich, Dwyane Wade and Dirk Nowitzki are no-brainers. What about Tony Parker? Or Pau Gasol?

(56:20) The Masters are telling the LIV golfers to come on down to Augusta in April. There's no surprise that they've elected for them to participate. What about the PGA Championship, the US Open and Open Championship? Will they follow suit?

Argentina Rules Soccer In Epic World Cup Win/Messi's Immortality Sealed! Wild Comebacks/Tough Defeat
JAYREELZ

Getting ready for a double dose of Christmas podcasts to put under your tree this week as I'm primed to entertain and inform you all as the latest podcast is here. On deck:

(3:21) A very good World Cup Final with a classic 45 minutes to conclude an epic match between Argentina vs. France. After two furious comebacks by France, Argentina prevails in penalty kicks to win the 2022 World Cup. I'll dive into all that took place, from arguing why not sudden death in a championship match? The legend and Immortality of Lionel Messi, the enormous save in the extra time by Emiliano Martinez, Kylian Mbappe and France's performance as we'll wait another four years to when the tournament returns to North America in 2026.

(21:44) The NFL had one of its better weekends of the year as I share my winners (i.e. Vikings improbable comeback & Giants) and losers (i.e. Patriots. Did you witness the final play of the game? UGH! And Titans.) of Week 15. There were plenty of last minute heroics (Jaguars vs. Cowboys, Chargers vs. Titans, Lions vs. Jets) I'll take a look at who's in good shape to make the playoffs and who may be on the outside looking in as we're down to the final three weeks of the regular season.

(44:16) Once again, Lakers big man Anthony Davis is out multiple weeks with a foot injury. How his absence is more critical than anyone else (yes, including LeBron James) on the team? Nikola Jokic's dominant statistical performance (40 pts, 27 rebs, 10 asts) vs. Charlotte. Both the Knicks and Nets are riding long winning streaks and the Celtics hit a bit of a skid losing four out of five, with back to back losses to Orlando AT HOME!

(50:30) The NHL is looking to expand the schedule to 84 games to have more of a competitive balance in the division. I'll break that down, as well as, the Devils have finally hit a rough stretch as the Hurricanes and Rangers are moving up in the Metropolitan. Same for the Penguins and Kris Letang scoring a goal in his third game back from suffering a stroke. Leafs winger, Mitch Marner had his franchise leading point scoring streak snapped at 23 Thursday night at MSG, as I look throughout the league on the latest of what's going on.

(55:47) The MLB offseason may start to cool off as a few more big players are off the market. I'll discuss where SS Dansby Swanson and SP Carlos Rodon are going, as well as, Andrew Benintendi, JD Martinez, Justin Turner and Michael Brantley as the Hot Stove may go into hibernation before the Christmas holiday arrives.

NFL Week 15 Kicks Off Homestretch. Celtics-Lakers Renew Rivalry! Appreciating Ovechkin's 800th Goal
JAYREELZ

I'll be making my sports list, checking it twice and try to find out who's naughty or nice as the latest podcast has plenty of early Christmas cheer and jeer. On deck:

(3:27) We're down to the final four weeks of the NFL season. I'll go in on the schedule for Week 15, starting off with Seattle hosting San Francisco in a big game for the Seahawks. Three games on Saturday, highlighted by Miami in Buffalo. Sunday's slate is ok, not spectacular as Dallas is in Jacksonville, Tennessee visits the Chargers and what's left of Tampa Bay hosts Cincinnati. There were a couple of transactions with teams on the verge of making deep playoff runs as I'll break down Cole Beasley back in Buffalo and T.Y. Hilton signing with Dallas.

(21:25) I'll spend a minute remembering Mississippi St. coach, Mike Leach as he passed away due to heart failure at the age of 61.

(22:49) The Celtics and Lakers renewed their rivalry for the first time this year, with a thrilling win in OT for the C's as I take a little trip down memory lane to a couple of other regular season classic games between the two teams. I'll get into what's happening throughout the Association, including Steph Curry's shoulder injury. And a possible changing of the guard at the top of the Western Conference?

(32:14) Capitals winger, Alexander Ovechkin reached a milestone only two other players have ever accomplished in the 100 plus year history of the NHL, as he had a hat trick to score 800 goals in his illustious career. Why he should be appreciated and celebrated for this achievement? Plus, all that's happening on the ice over the past few days.

(39:43) Carlos Correa signs the fourth largest contract in MLB history as he becomes a member of the San Francisco Giants. I'll tell you why he's not worth it? There was a shrewd trade made by the Braves bringing in Sean Murphy from Oakland. Why that could turn out to be another great move by a well run organization in Atlanta. Former Mets Chris Bassitt (inks a three year deal with Toronto) and Adam Ottavino (still a free agent) as we get deeper into the offseason.

(50:35) And then there are two. Argentina will play defending World Cup champion France for the 2022 World Cup Title. I'll recap the semifinal round, leading up to the finale come Sunday. What this match means for Argentina's Lionel Messi? I'll share who I'm rooting for and have my fingers crossed that the game DOES NOT come down to penalty kicks!

With winter officially eight days away, the sports world perpetually keeps us warm and toasty as another podcast kicks off your week with plenty to delve into. On deck:

(2:57) NFL Week 14 didn't pack a lot of intrigue or suspense, but there has been some movement as teams try to make a run to the postseason, where others are flailing as they try to hang on for their dear lives. I'll go through my winners (i.e. Lions & Chargers) and losers (i.e. Raiders & Seahawks) I'll recap where we're at as we're approaching the final quarter of the season as certain teams in the AFC (Dolphins, Chargers, Jets, Patriots) and NFC (Giants, Commanders, Seahawks, even Lions) do their best to make a push to get to January playing in meaningful games.

(31:12) Army wins in the first ever OT game vs. rival Navy to where the Midshipmen fired their head coach. USC QB, Caleb Williams is your Heisman Trophy Winner. Now it's onto the Bowls, but I'll explain why I won't go full bore on the entire schedule and just focus on the College Football Playoff?

(33:22) The MLB Hot Stove has cooled off a little bit since the craziness at the Winter Meetings last week. But don't say that to Mets owner, Steve Cohen. He's continued to add to his already exorbitant payroll, re-signing OF Brandon Nimmo to an eight year, $162 million dollar contract. They've also agreed to sign the best Japanese pitcher out there in Kodai Senga to a five year, $75 million dollar deal. Is this what the Met fan (like myself) has been waiting for? Spending in free agency for a better shot at winning that elusive World Series? Or have they sold their souls to the devil that could end up a lot worse than the fan could ever expect?

(43:21) Is there a budding rivalry taking place in the NBA? The Suns and Pelicans played two back to back, hard fought competitive games that the Pels won. In the first game, it led to a fracas as Zion Williamson added a thunderous 360 slam dunk before the buzzer when the game was already over. There is one more matchup this season later in the month, so we shall see. The Warriors had their most complete game in an NBA Finals rematch against the Celtics. And sad news as longtime NBA player and coach, Paul Silas, passed away at the age of 73.

(47:45) As for what's happening on the ice, Kris Letang returns to the Penguins lineup, just twelve days after suffering his second stroke. The Pens are on a hot streak going 13-2-2 over the past 17 games. Alexander Ovechkin is now up to 797 goals, but the last four of them, have been empty netters. They do count, but some people feels they're cheapies. Are they right?

(50:22) Brittney Griner has finally made it to US soil late last week. It's been polarizing for a lot of citizens in this country regarding her exchange with the Merchant of Death, Viktor Bout and not have US Marine, Paul Whelan tag along with her. Will Griner be a catalyst, as she has stated, in doing her best to bring Whelan back home?

(54:31) We're now down to the Final Four in the World Cup as it's Morocco-France & Argentina-Croatia. Will the Cinderella Morocco team be able to get to a Final? Can France make it two in a row? And have a rematch against Croatia in the Final?
