A new week, a new month is here and so is the latest podcast delivering all of what the sports world has to offer. On deck:

(6:26) I’d be remiss if I didn’t thank everyone who participated in Saturday’s 7th Anniversary Five Hour Livestream. It was a good time by all. If you happened to miss it, you can find it below on my YouTube channel. https://youtube.com/live/HrBSjY7sM_w?feature=share

(8:04) If you didn’t believe in the Cleveland Cavaliers before, I think you have to take them seriously at this point. After a great come from behind win in Boston on Friday night and in the middle of a ten game winning streak, are they the team to beat in the entire league? What kind of pressure have they put on themselves? I’ll unpack that, as well as, the Suns continue to fade out West. The Lakers are a two seed! How dangerous are they? Will Joel Embiid come back next year close to his MVP form? Steph’s 56. Pop won’t come back (this year) and much more as the Association has plenty to offer in early March.

(33:52) The Madness won’t begin just yet, but with March here, we’re anticipating a huge month in college basketball. Tennessee tops Alabama at the buzzer the other day, but St. John’s is the more fascinating story at the moment. They won the Big East Regular Season title for the first time in 40 years, which was the last time they went to a Final Four. Can they repeat what took place four decades ago this time around?

(41:33) Friday will be the NHL’s trade deadline. The Panthers and Rangers have made moves. Which other teams will wheel and deal before the end of the week? Alex Ovechkin is now ten goals away from climbing Mt. Gretzky and another goal was score by a netminder as Islanders Ilya Sorokin is the latest to do so.

(53:41) MLB commish Rob Manfred has to decide whether or not to lift the lifetime ban on Pete Rose. Is it finally time? Also, the Yankees have had a couple of rough days as pitcher Luis Gil may need an MRI on his throwing shoulder, Giancarlo Stanton will miss the start of the season with elbow inflammation and DJ LeMahieu had to leave a game due to a calf injury.

(59:07) With the salary cap in the NFL going up, what will Deebo Samuel get as he was traded to Washington for a 5th round pick. Is this a high risk, high reward deal for the Commanders? Matthew Stafford stays in LA. The Giants are flirting with Aaron Rodgers? And Myles Garrett will not sign an extension in Cleveland. What will they do with him and their second overall selection?

(1:05:25) Boxing had another bad look to their sport as Gervonta ‘Tank’ Davis and Lamont Roach Jr. bout ends up in a draw due to a controversial non KO call by the ref which left the crowd at Barclays Center in Brooklyn shocked.

With a handful of days left in the month and a celebration coming at the end of the week, you know I’m excited to share what lies ahead in the sports world and the podcast, so thanks for stopping by to consume it all as the latest podcast is here! On deck:

(6:42) I’m pumped to share and remind everyone about the seventh anniversary of the podcast this Saturday, which will be a LIVESTREAM on YouTube. Be sure to keep your eyes and ears peeled for more information as we get closer to March 1st.

(7:12) It was a big week for the NHL with the success of the 4 Nations Face-Off I’m sure it was more than what the commissioner could’ve ever expected. Will there be any carryover as the season has resumed? Alex Ovechkin is now a bakers dozen away from passing Wayne Gretzky on the all time goal scoring list. Will he do it before the season is over? It’s time to dissect the Wild Card races in both the East and West. And with the trade deadline just ten days away, it should be a busy week as teams will look for reinforcements as we get to the final third of the season.

(28:19) On the hardwood, you have to be heavily concerned about the NY Knicks. They not only lost, but they were destroyed out of the All-Star Break losing big to Cleveland and Boston on the road. Are they missing a certain ingredient? Are they title worthy? Things aren’t looking up in San Antonio as phenom Victor Wembanyama will sit out the rest of the season with a blood clot, while coach Gregg Popovich won’t return as he’s recovering from a stroke. What will the Sixers do with Joel Embiid? Surgery on his knee? Just rest? The conundrum is that they are STILL in the playoff mix even though they’re 14 games under .500. I’ll see what else is popping in the Association (Luka Doncic ready to take off after his biggest game as a Laker on Saturday night) as things seem to be quiet overall.

(49:06) College basketball is waiting to bask in the month of March, because things have been rather low key over the past few days. Although there were a few upsets (Miss St., Missouri, Texas A&M) and St. John’s win vs. UConn, there isn’t  much to discuss.

(52:05) MLB Spring Training has begun. Juan Soto hits a HR in his first at-bat. A sign of things to come for the new Met right fielder? Yankees extend Aaron Boone for two more years, and have also raised the ban on facial hair, but what about hair length? Then you have MLB & ESPN mutually agreeing to part ways after the ’25 season, with three years left on their deal. Where will MLB go next?

(1:00:23) Lastly, the NFL had some news where there was a retirement (Cowboys Zach Martin) and two hirings of note (JAX GM James Gladstone and NO DC Brandon Staley, who reconnects with Kellen Moore)
