South Florida vs. The World? MIA-DEN. FLA-Vegas Finals Preview. Liam Hendriks's Return From Cancer. Yankees-Dodgers On Deck. Major Upset & Controversy At The French Open!

June is here and so is the latest podcast as I share all that's happening in sports. On deck:

(2:40) The sports landscape gets into the homestretch. Despite two championship rounds in the NBA & NHL are upon us, there isn't much else that's percolating (other than baseball) as far as what I love to talk about. I'll get us rolling on the NBA Finals which begins tonight. A few big storylines heading in, keys to both teams winning a title and who'll come out on top as I prepare you for what's to come between the Miami Heat vs. Denver Nuggets. Of course, I'll spend a few minutes on the postmortem of the Boston Celtics as they flopped in making history at home on Monday night. What lies ahead for a team that has a big decision regarding Jaylen Brown, coming close to another Finals appearance, but has lots to prove as far as being a team that's capable of winning it all.

(24:42) As for the Stanley Cup Finals, can the Florida Panthers continue their torrid pace after more than a week off? Or is Vegas that much better and primed to win their first Cup? What about Panthers goaltender Sergei Bobrovsky? Can he deliver one more time and pull off a big upset? I'll answer all of those questions and predict who'll raise Lord's Stanley Cup when it's all said and done.

(31:40) All is quiet on the MLB front as we're at the 1/3 point of the season. The big story (and most inspiring one) of the past few days was the return of White Sox reliever Liam Hendriks who has recovered from cancer, stepping on a mound for the first time this season vs. the Angels. I'll check the schedule to see what series to take a peek at over the weekend, highlighted by the titanic matchup between the Yankees vs. Dodgers in LA.

(36:24) The French Open hasn't generated a lot of news on the court, except for one big upset. #2 men's player in the world, Daniil Medvedev was bounced in the first round. You've had some startling comments from Novak Djokovic in regards to what's going on in Kosovo. Will that be a distraction as he continues to march on in this tournament? And Aryna Sabalenka from Belarus was snubbed from a postgame handshake by Ukraine's Marta Kostyuk. Was that warranted by Kostyuk? Should she have handled that differently? Please subscribe, leave a rating and post a review on Apple Podcasts, Google Podcasts, Spreaker, Stitcher, Spotify, Luminary, Amazon Music and iHeartRadio or wherever you get your podcasts.

The Biggest Game In NBA History? Heat-Celtics: GM 7. NHL's Stars Aligned For 0-3 Comeback? Padres A Pretender As MLB Is One-Third Into Season. Novak A Shoo-In For French? D-Hop To Baltimore?

On this Memorial Day Monday, we pay tribute to those who served, fought and sacrificed their lives for our freedom in this country, as well as, those who participate in the sports universe as there's a lot to dissect as the latest podcast has arrived. On deck:

(3:15) Is tonight's Game 7 between the Heat and Celtics the biggest in NBA history? You can argue that being the case, but this is something that in the 76 year history of the league that no one has witnessed. A team winning a series after being down 0-3. I'll get into this matchup, the psyche of the Heat, as well as, the epic ending of Game 6 as Derrick White's put back with 0.2 seconds to go pushed this series to the brink and on the precipice of making history. I'll also get into the Nuggets having to wait patiently for who their opponent will be and how not playing has thrown off their rhythm? There's also a new coach in Milwaukee as they hire Adrian Griffin to succeed Mike Budenholzer. And Phoenix has narrowed it down as to who'll patrol the sidelines next year. Will it be Doc Rivers? Nick Nurse?

(25:20) The Dallas Stars are trying to take a page out of the Celtics textbook this postseason as they've cut their 0-3 deficit to 3-2 as they'll host Vegas in a Game 6. Do they have what it takes to get this to a winner take all Game 7? How big of a game is this for the Golden Knights, even with a potential final game looming on their home ice?

(30:42) As baseball hits the 1/3 point of their season, I'll go through the big series over the weekend (Dodgers-Rays, Phillies-Braves, Padres-Yankees) and which teams are in the mix to make it to October. You'll be surprised how many teams I have in contention at this point in both the AL & NL. And why is there NOT a full slate of games on this Memorial Day Monday is beyond me!

(46:29) The French Open has begun, as the second Grand Slam of the tennis year is here. I'll preview what may be an easy road for Novak Djokovic and a toss up on the women's side as to who'll come out of top as champions at Roland Garros.

(52:35) Former Cardinals wideout, De'Andre Hopkins has been released and is now a free agent. Does he sign with Lamar Jackson, Odell Beckham Jr. and the Ravens. What would that mean for a team that's looking to pass more and run less? One time Steeler running back, Le'Veon Bell had a few things to say about him being high on marijuana before games and some not so flattering words toward former Jets coach, Adam Gase. Is this alarming news?

(57:24) The Indianapolis 500 has come and gone. Your winner? Josef Newgarden wins his first ever Indy 500 in his twelfth attempt.

Panthers Unexpected, Magical Run To Cup Final. Nuggets On A Mission To NBA Title? Will Celtics Win Game 5? MLB Memorial Day Weekend. NFL 'Flexing' Their TV Muscles. Indy 500 Thoughts

Entering into the holiday weekend, firing on all cylinders as yours truly is prepped, primed and ready to go as I deliver the latest and greatest in what's going on in sports. On deck:

(2:57) What can we say about the ride that the Florida Panthers are on? They have been on Cloud 9 ever since the monumental comeback and upset of the record setting, regular season champion Boston Bruins in the first round of these Stanley Cup Playoffs. As of this moment, they have punched their ticket to their first Cup Final since 1996 as they swept the Carolina Hurricanes and did it in dramatic fashion with a game winning, series clinching goal by conquering hero, Matthew Tkachuk. Is this team destined to win it all? We'll have to see who they'll play, which in all likelihood, will be the Vegas Golden Knights who can send the Dallas Stars packing tonight with a sweep and a trip to meet the Panthers for Lord's Stanley Cup. The sad part in all of this? The start of the Cup Final, which'll commence TWO WEEKS from today. You know I'll have something to say about that.

(20:01) Don't look now, but the Denver Nuggets are on a mission to win an NBA championship as they took care of business against the LA Lakers. I'll even make a prediction as to how many games they'll WIN in the Finals, which begins a week from today. The Celtics are still alive as they saved face and won Game 4 to bring the series back to Boston for Game 5. Will they extend this conference final to a sixth game? You'll be very surprised as to what my take is and how confident I am when it comes to tonight and possibly a Game 6 on Saturday night?

(32:52) To think, baseball is just about two months into their season. They'll reach the one-third juncture of 2023 by early next week for most teams. I'll take a look at some of the series that have taken place over the past few days (Orioles-Yankees, Dodgers-Braves, Blue Jays-Rays) and what to look forward to this weekend (Dodgers-Rays, Padres-Yankees, Phillies-Braves) on the schedule.

(39:55) The NFL made some news this week regarding Thursday night 'flex' games during Weeks 13-17, a rule being instituted this year which will allow fair catches on kickoffs and a Wild Card playoff game to be streamed on Peacock?

(44:39) After a brief mention about the French Open starting on Monday, the auto racing fan can look forward to Sunday's Indianapolis 500. Sadly, it flies under the radar and consciousness of the sports fan, but brings back memories of how this event was very popular and one we paid attention to dating back to the 1970's.

The NBA's Disastrous Last 11 Days, Topped By An Epic Celtic Meltdown. NHL's Panthers: Hockey's Miami Heat? MLB Under The Radar? Jim Brown Tribute. Koepka's 3rd PGA Win. Nadal Out For '23

(3:04) The NBA will never admit it, but I will. The last eleven days have been an out and out disaster evidenced by how these Conference Finals have unfolded. Denver looks like a team on a mission to where the Lakers have fallen short. Whereas Miami has undressed and embarrassed the Celtics making them look small. I'll have a complete breakdown as to why the Association has been deplorable over the last week and a half and share my utter disdain for how this Celtic team has shown up in this series.

(28:15) There are similar parallels between the NBA & Stanley Cup Playoff Conference Finals. In the East, you have an upstart #8 seed in Florida (Sounds familiar) take a 2-0 series lead over the Carolina Hurricanes. Out West, you have the #1 seeded Vegas Golden Knights up 2-0 vs. the Dallas Stars who are kicking themselves as they've had opportunities to tie or even have a 2-0 lead as well.

(38:18) Is it me or has the baseball season been below or under the radar as we're almost two months in? I'll bring you up to date on the MLB, whether it's the Orioles sweeping the Blue Jays in Toronto, with the Yankees up next. Same for the Astros now that they have Jose Altuve back. The Padres have hit on hard times early on, but the Arizona Diamondbacks have overachieved. Can they make a push in the NL West as the Dodgers starting pitching staff has fallen on hard times? Will the Oakland A's threaten the 1962 Mets for the worst record ever in a regular season?

(47:21) An NFL legend and sports icon has passed away. I'll pay tribute to the late, great Jim Brown who died at the age of 87 on Thursday. I'll get into the impact he made both on and off the field as the greatest football player in the history of the sport transitions.

(51:28) Brooks Koepka won his third PGA Championship over the weekend as he hung on to beat both Viktor Hovland and Scottie Scheffler in the final round as the second leg of golf's Grand Slam is in the books.

(55:18) Rafael Nadal, the king of the clay court with the French Open kicking off next Monday, will not play for the rest of 2023 due to a hip ailment. In fact, he stated that 2024 will be his last year on the tour. What does this mean for the sport with three more Grand Slam tournaments on the docket over the next four months?

(58:06) The Belmont Stakes are an afterthought as Kentucky Derby winner Mage came in third at the Preakness on Saturday (National Treasure was victorious) so the horse racing season will come to a quiet close.

(58:37) Controversy over a decision in the sport of boxing? We saw one Saturday night as Devin Haney retains his lightweight title unanimously to the chagrin of the corner and management of Vasiliy Lomachenko. Is a rematch a foregone conclusion? What about a bout between Haney and Gervonta Davis?

NBA Conference Finals: Sloppy Celtics, Heat Attitude, Nuggets Time? Laker Adjustments. Unglamorous NHL Semifinal Matchups. Yankee 'Chirpgate'/NY Walk-Offs. PGA Championship Preview

Another week concludes with a fiery podcast as I deliver all the heat that the sports world has to offer. On deck:

(2:35) The Celtics sloppy play rears its ugly head in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals last night. They lose Game 1 at home to the Miami Heat as turnovers and missed shots doom them and lose home court advantage in the process. Will they be able to get the series even at 1-1? Denver's Nikola Jokic had a monster Game 1 as they hung on to beat the Lakers. Have the Lakers figured out a few things in preparation for a possible Game 2 upset? I'll also discuss the firing of Sixers coach Doc Rivers and how I'm still fuming over the Spurs winning the Draft Lottery and the probability of securing the next generational prospect, Victor Wembanyama.

(26:07) The Conference Finals in the NHL commence tonight. By any means, both of these matchup will likely not draw eyeballs to the sets, but I'll preview Florida-Carolina and Dallas-Vegas as to who'll make that next step to get to a Stanley Cup Final. In fact, which is the best draw that the NHL would want for a championship?

(34:43) As the MLB is more than a quarter into the season. The Dodgers are holding their collective breaths at the right arm of starting pitcher, Dustin May, who had to leave a game earlier this week with a right forearm strain. The Yankees have had an interesting week as you had 'Chirpgate', Aaron Boone's inexplicable ejection, the suspension of Domingo German and getting walked off in extra innings up in Toronto. Where the Mets had their own walk-off in their biggest win of the season vs. Tampa Bay. Will that be what the doctor ordered for a team that's severely underachieved this year at 21-23? How about the Padres, who have been just as bad as the Mets. And the Oakland A's light at the end of the tunnel will be in Las Vegas as they've purchased land to build a new stadium, set for 2027.

(43:20) Kentucky Derby winner Mage will race in The Preakness on Saturday. Is it possible that another victory is on the horizon, so there could be some Triple Crown buzz heading into The Belmont Stakes?

(44:42) I'll preview and discuss a couple of storylines (i.e. Rory McIlroy) the second Grand Slam golf major this year as the PGA Championship takes place up in Rochester, NY over the upcoming weekend.

A Familiar NBA Final Four. Monty Williams Jobbed. Ja Morant Not Again! A Ho-Hum NHL Conf Finals On Deck? MLB Weekend Of Comebacks, Sweeps & Near Brawls. An Unfavorable NFL Schedule

Playoff fever in the NBA & NHL continues to rise as baseball, the NFL schedule and the Preakness will follow as another jam packed podcast has arrived. On deck:

(3:04) We're down to a familiar final four in the NBA as the conference finals are set. Jayson Tatum & the Celtics were able to overcome a 3-2 series deficit as they defeated the Sixers to move on and play the Miami Heat for the third time in four years for an Eastern Conference Championship. The Nuggets and Lakers advance to the Western Conference Finals which sets the stage as these four teams were also the last ones standing the year of the bubble in 2020. I'll recap the recent events for these said teams, as well as, the aftermath for the Sixers (including another James Harden meltdown), Knicks, Suns (Coach Monty Williams got a raw deal as he was fired) and Warriors (the end of a dynasty? Was this really a dynasty?) I'll preview both series with predictions. I'll talk about Ja Morant's indefensible behavior as another video surfaces of him holding a gun on a social media feed which drew a team suspension. And the NBA Draft Lottery which'll take place tomorrow night to see who will have the #1 overall pick with potential generational player, Victor Wembanyama on the horizon.

(44:19) As for the NHL, the conference finals won't have the same sex appeal that the NBA has. We're still awaiting the winner of an upstart Seattle Kraken team vs. Dallas Stars as they have a Game 7 to play tonight. Whomever comes out victorious there will face the Vegas Golden Knights in the West. In the East, you have division rivals squaring off, but it's Carolina vs. Florida. Not the sexiest matchup, to say the least. Will this generate any interest to the casual sports fan?

(51:43) MLB had a very interesting weekend as you had comebacks (Yankees rally from 6-0 deficit to beat the Rays on Saturday) a near miss comeback (Aaron Judge missed a game tying HR by thismuch) a couple of surprising sweeps (Blue Jays over Braves, Cardinals over Red Sox) and benches emptying in Colorado between the Phillies-Rockies.

(58:10) I share my displeasure on a few dates of the upcoming 2023 NFL schedule. THREE Monday night doubleheaders? You know I'll go off on this, the Thanksgiving & Christmas Day slates, opening night in KC and why the Packers are on primetime aplenty?

(1:06:40) In a bit of a surprise, Kentucky Derby winner Mage will run in the Preakness this coming Saturday. Is it possible that this horse is primed for a Triple Crown run?

Celtics Coaching/Toughness Headline Four Game 6's In NBA 2nd Round. Panthers Facing Leafs Cataclysmic Comeback? MLB Weekend Matchups. NFL Schedule Leaks With Little Appeal

Back to close out a busy week on the podcast as we get set for a thrilling weekend of playoff competition and the like. On deck:

(3:03) All of the NBA second round series are at 3-2. I start off with my beloved, but battered Celtics as they've played their worst game of the postseason, losing an awful Game 5 at home. Do they have what it takes to win an elimination game? Yes, indeed. But how they'll go about it this time around will be different? Will Marcus Smart show up in this series? What about the rookie head coach, Joe Mazzulla? Can he make certain adjustments on the fly? A fascinating Game 6 for their season awaits in Philadelphia this evening. The Nuggets can put away the Suns with a win tonight. Do the Suns have what it takes to force a Game 7? Then you have what the Knicks and Warriors did last night. Do the Knicks have what it takes to win a huge game on the road? And will the Warriors championship DNA rise in Game 6 in LA vs. the Lakers? Four intriguing Game 6's (is it possible to have four Game 7's?) which will lead us into the weekend as to who will play in the Conference Finals next week.

(23:13) The Stanley Cup Playoffs second round has played out much differently than its NBA counterparts to date as there hasn't been a lot of drama. The Hurricanes seem to be on the inside track to winning in five games over the Devils, but the one storyline that could gain some traction is the Maple Leafs. They showed some pride, saved face and won with a backup goalie to bring the series back to Toronto for Game 5, down 3-1. Is this the time for the Leafs to get on a roll, win a home game which they haven't really done this postseason and put some pressure on the Panthers to avoid a cataclysmic disaster of having Toronto get back in the series? I'll also see where we're at with the Kraken-Stars and Oilers-Golden Knights as they're deadlocked at 2-2 in their respective series. There'll be a new Rangers coach next year as Gerard Gallant was let go. Joel Quenneville, anyone? Hmmm! Not this guy. And the Blackhawks win the Connor Bedard sweepstakes as they'll have the #1 pick in this upcoming draft, thanks to winning the Draft Lottery a couple of nights ago.

(38:27) There isn’t much to discuss in baseball, but there are a couple of things to chew on. The Rays will invade the Bronx for a big four game series with the Yankees. You'll have the Braves-Blue Jays, Padres-Dodgers & Pirates-Orioles over the weekend. The Mets will play the Phillies in the London Series next year. Am I a fan of this? And will Braves starter, Max Fried have to face Tommy John surgery as he left with a forearm strain earlier this week?

(44:25) NFL fans are geeked up as the 2023 schedule will be released tonight. I'm not crazy about the London & Germany games, but the Black Friday game and all of the networks and streaming services that need to be fed has become overkill for yours truly.

Jokic Suspension? Warriors/Knicks Up For Key GM 4's? Panthers Prowling Towards Cup? Rays Winning Ways, Braves Cruising, Pirates Back To Earth? NFL Schedule Talk. Derby Downer? Canelo Beat Who?

I'm jacked up and ready to share my thoughts on all of the happenings in the sports world over the past few days. On deck:

(2:53) For starters, I released a new podcast with a special guest. If you're a subscriber of the podcast, I'm sure you've already seen or listened to my discussion with Action Network's Maria Marino as we get into various topics surrounding her broadcasting journey, biggest influences, etc. You can also watch the full interview on YouTube Please subscribe, give it a like as I release content daily on that platform. I also send a birthday shout out to my grandson, Cameron, who turns eight as well.

(4:31) Devin Booker (who's been the best player to date in the NBA Playoffs) and Kevin Durant have led the attack from an 0-2 deficit to even their series vs. Denver. The big story out of last night's game was Nuggets center Nikola Jokic, who had a brief run-in on the sidelines with Suns owner Mat Ishbia trying to get the ball from his arms. Is a suspension warranted to the former two-time MVP? The Celtics-Sixers series is deadlocked at two apiece as James Harden had another big game after a flop of a Game 3. Two big tests on the road for the Warriors & Knicks as they face critical Game 4's tonight. How this could define the Warriors as they defend their title?

(24:11) Who will stop the Florida Panthers? They've been flying since they roared back from a 3-1 deficit vs. Boston. Are they on a track to going to a Stanley Cup Final? What about the Seattle Kraken as they dismantle the Dallas Stars at home in Game 3? The Devils bounced back with a big effort in Game 3 vs. Carolina. Can the do the same in Game 4? And the Oilers got even with Vegas as the scene shifts to Edmonton for the next two. Why it's important for their psyche to win these next two in their building?

(36:44) Baseball has had an interesting first month plus as we approach the middle of May. The Rays continue their winning ways with a big come from behind win vs. the Yankees. While the Braves are starting to run away with the NL East as they have the biggest division margin (seven games) over any other in the sport. The Pirates are still in first place, but have come back to Earth as they've lost seven in a row. Plus, anything and everything happening throughout the MLB and even a few words about my dreadful Mets, who have hit the skids losing 11 of 14. There's also sad news to report as former Oakland A's great, Vida Blue passed away on Saturday at the age of 73.

(49:21) I'll share a prediction of what matchup will open the NFL season in Kansas City as the 2023 schedule will be released on Thursday.

(51:53) Mage wins the 149th Kentucky Derby, but it's an afterthought to more sordid details coming out of Churchill Downs as two more horses had to be put down after races leading up to the Run for the Roses. Will something be done about this? Is it time for this sport to go away completely?

(54:52) Canelo Alvarez defended his super middleweight title in his homeland of Mexico on Saturday night vs. John Ryder. John who? Did anyone pay attention or watch?

Embiid's Return, Butler's Health, AD's Importance, Suns Done Leads NBA. Pesky Panthers, Upstart Kraken, More Leaf Pressure? Scherzer's Demise? Cashman's Plea To Fans. The Abolishment Of Horse Racing?

The sports month of May is off to a flying start. Here to keep you apprised on all of that and then some, you know that I've got you covered as your trusted favorite little podcast host. On deck:

(2:45) Unfortunately, I have a mea culpa before I kickoff the pod as there is some construction (or a woodpecker, I jest) that may be heard in the background for the first 10-15 minutes or so. If you're able to hear it, my sincerest apologies ahead of time.

(3:20) The NBA Playoffs are officially in the second round. Newly minted MVP of the regular season, Sixers center Joel Embiid, returned to the lineup in Game 2 against the Celtics. Was it a good thing? Or should he have waited until Game 3 in Philadelphia? The Heat and Knicks are tied at 1-1. The big question is the health status of guard Jimmy Butler. Will he be in the lineup in Game 3? Denver is out to a 2-0 lead on Phoenix as the next two games will be in the Valley? Are the Suns done? Or can they still rise and be heard from? Then you have the Lakers-Warriors, with LA up 1-0 at the moment. Is Anthony Davis the key to the Lakers success and not LeBron James?

(22:05) Things are heating up on the ice as the Stanley Cup Playoffs head into their second round as well. The Devils stepped up and disposed their bridge and tunnel rival Rangers on Monday. Could this be a long offseason for New York as so much was expected heading into this year? New Jersey got off to the same start they did against the Rangers, at Carolina in Game 1 last night. Vegas took a 1-0 series lead vs. Edmonton, despite sniper Leon Draisaitl scoring four goals vs. the Golden Knights. Those pesky Panthers did not let down after their overtime heroics in Boston as the won Game 1 north of the border in Toronto. Is the pressure mounting after just one game for the Maple Leafs, considering they finally got out of the first round since 2004? And the Kraken have continued their winning ways, winning in Dallas to get a leg up on that series.

(34:29) Should Met fans (including yours truly) be concerned that Max Scherzer's best pitching days are behind him? I have quite a bit to say here, so you won't want to miss this. Yankees GM Brian Cashman had a state of the union on his ballclub, reassuring the fan base not to count them out. Was this necessary? I'll get into the latest of what's taking place on the diamond as baseball is more than a month in.

(49:47) The first leg of Horse Racing's Triple Crown kicks off on Saturday as the Kentucky Derby is just about here. Unfortunately there's been some news recently about horses that have been euthanized over the past week over at Churchill Downs. Is it time to consider that this archaic sport needs to be abolished? Meanwhile, I will preview what I know about the 149th Running of the Roses. Will we see another long shot win such as Rich Strike did last year?

Bruins Epic Flop, Leafs FINALLY Break 1st Round Hex, Avalanche Collapse Lead NHL. Warriors DNA, Grizzlies Immaturity With 2nd Round Preview. MLB's First Month Recap. Lamar's Big Pay/NFL Draft Talk

May has arrived and so is the latest podcast that'll get the sports fan revved up on all that I have to say on what's taken place over the weekend. On deck:

(3:07) It's been a wild and crazy first round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs as it's coming to a close. Speaking of which, a team that we didn't think would be closed out at this point of the tournament are the Boston Bruins. They had a 3-1 series lead over the Florida Panthers. They were unable to seal the deal after losing a gut wrenching Game 7 in their own building. For all of their regular season records and accolades, was this year a major disappointment? On the flip side, the Toronto Maple Leafs lift a heavy piano off their backs as they FINALLY win a first round series, defeating the Tampa Bay Lightning in six. Now that they've crossed this hurdle, is a Stanley Cup run on the docket? Then there are the defending champion Colorado Avalanche, who were unable to make it to the Conference Semifinals as they lose three games at home to the expansion Seattle Kraken. Was this a bitter loss? Or is it lessened due them winning the Cup last year? I'll also share my thoughts on the Islanders losing in six to Carolina. And look ahead to a Game 7 tonight between the Rangers-Devils and the semifinal matchups between Florida-Boston, Edmonton-Vegas, Seattle-Dallas as we get set for Round 2.

(33:13) The Association had an interesting past few days. The Warriors were able to win Game 7 in Sacramento going away in the second half, including a record setting performance by Stephen Curry (50 points in the final game of the series) as they dispose the upstart but inexperienced Kings. Which leads to another battle between he and a LeBron James led team in the LA Lakers. You had the Lakers take care of the Memphis Grizzlies, embarrassing them in Game 6. I'll talk about how the Grizzlies need some wholesale changes and (SURPRISE!) who would be a good fit to get them to the next level? You won't want to miss that take. I'll preview Sixers-Celtics, Lakers-Warriors and get into Game 1 between the Heat-Knicks and how that matchup will play out.

(50:12) MLB has surpassed its first month of the season. I'll share a few takeaways as to what's transpired. A couple of surprises (i.e. Rays, Pirates, Rangers & Orioles) and a few disappointments (i.e. Cardinals, Yankees, Padres and Mariners) as I get into what's happening on the diamond.

(58:32) Lamar Jackson ends up a Baltimore Raven after all. The bigger question is, will Coach John Harbaugh re-tool his offense to being more pass oriented, especially with Odell Beckham Jr. in the mix? The 2023 NFL Draft has come and gone. I'll dive into some of the key notes of who did what and who missed out.

Kraken KO Cup Champs? Leafs Ready To Slay Dragons? Kawhi's Post Series Diagnosis? Heat Check/Butler's Heart, Bucks Long Summer. Pros Outweigh Cons For Rodgers In NY? NFL Draft Peek At Round 1

It's been a wild past few days in the sports universe and here to share all of my thoughts, feelings and opinions on all of the matters at hand with the latest podcast episode. On deck:

(2:43) The Seattle Kraken have made a statement to show that they not only belong in the Stanley Cup Playoffs, but they're on the verge of pulling off a huge upset in beating the defending Cup Champion, Colorado Avalanche. Can they pull it off at home in Game 6? The Maple Leafs are one game away from finally getting over the hump and winning a first round series. Why the longer the series goes it doesn't favor them? Most of the series are at 3-2, including the Islanders who saved their season with a Game 5 win in Carolina. Will they push this to a 7th game? I'll have the entire first round update as we're in the homestretch to the end of Round 1.

(18:29) The NBA has made a fool out of yours truly as these first round series has picked up some steam as three of the remaining series have some intrigue and drama. First, the Suns beat the Clippers handily in five games. It's not until after the Clippers were ousted that we find out that Kawhi Leonard suffered a torn meniscus. Why wait until the conclusion of the series to apprise us? The Heat become the sixth #8 seed to upset the top seed in the conference as Jimmy Butler willed his team to two improbable wins in Games 4 & 5. Why Butler has the biggest heart in all of the NBA? And there's lots to answer in Milwaukee as coach Mike Budenholzer has lots of explaining to do with some awful coaching in key spots as they're home for the spring. I'll discuss the Knicks blitzing the Cavaliers in 5 as we get set for a Knicks-Heat second round matchup. Will it be anything close to what we saw in the 90's between these two franchises? I'll also get into the Hawks-Celtics series and how the pressure is on the C's? Why Golden State is in the drivers seat with a tough road win in Sacramento? And the Lakers are going back to Cali to see if they can close out the Grizzlies in Game 6. Plus, Ime Udoka has found a new home as he's the new coach of the Houston Rockets.

(46:08) I briefly stress over the Mets losing the first two of three at home against the Washington Nationals before delving into the NFL. Aaron Rodgers is finally a New York Jet. Do the cons outweigh the pros now that he's officially in green and white? The NFL Draft kicks off tonight as Round 1 will take place in Kansas City. Where will the top quarterbacks fall as football fans will have their fill over the next few days to see who their favorite team will draft.

(1:01:42) I cap off the pod with some quick notes on baseball regarding the Pirates, Max Scherzer's suspension and the Braves visiting New York to play the Mets over the weekend.

Bucks/Grizzlies Need To Win For Intriguing 1st Round. Bruins Rebound, Oilers Survive & Leafs Gut Check Lead NHL. The First Place Pirates? Rodgers/Lamar Swallow NFL Draft? Davis-Garcia: Unimpressed

Another month is coming to a close, but the beginning of two action packed podcasts are on the horizon as I'll come correct on all that's going on in the sports galaxy. On deck:

(3:31) There hasn't been a lot of drama in the first round of the NBA Playoffs. The Sixers have swept the Nets into the spring (Joel Embiid's health & Nets direction after so much promise before the season began is an addendum), the Celtics are one game away from advancing. The Nuggets were unable to sweep the Timberwolves, but still hold a commanding 3-1 series lead. What about the Knicks? Winning both home games as they're up 3-1, whereas, the Suns won both games in LA vs. the Clippers looking to close them out at home in Game 5 (I have some serious thoughts on the Kawhi Leonard injury and his future, which has sabotaged this series). The Warriors have climbed back to even their series vs. Sacramento to deliver some intrigue and excitement. Can they win one road game, which is what they'll need to do in order to get to the next round? But we'll have to bank on both Memphis and Milwaukee to tie their respective series which resume tonight. I'll get into the state of the Grizzlies as they're at a crossroad to their season, with a lot of controversy surrounding their chirpy, defensive leader Dillon Brooks. And will Giannis Antetokounmpo return from a back injury that's kept him out since the first quarter of Game 1?

(24:29) We're hoping for a lot of drama in the Stanley Cup Playoffs as we enter the second week of the first round. The Bruins have bounced back nicely as they won both games in Florida to take a commanding 3-1 lead. The Islanders face that same deficit after a deplorable Game 4 in their building vs. Carolina. Can they bring the series back to Long Island for Game 6? A classic is brewing out West between the Kings-Oilers as they've played three of the four games into OT, where Edmonton prevailed in Game 4. The Maple Leafs had a huge gut check win in Tampa as they scored in the final minute to tie, then win in OT over the Lightning to take a 2-1 series lead. Let's see what'll take place tonight if any of those series (i.e. NYR-NJ, TB-TOR, SEA-COL or WPG-VEGAS) can draw even to add some suspense as the opening round continues.

(38:18) Don't look now, but the Pittsburgh Pirates are in FIRST PLACE! You read that right! They've done a wonderful job of late. Winners of seven in a row and even gave the manager, Derek Shelton an extension. Unfortunately, it comes with a caveat. How about the Orioles as they've been riding high, winning 10 of 12 to secure second place behind Tampa Bay in the AL East. The Astros seem to have come out of their early season doldrums as they swept the Braves in Atlanta over the weekend. My beloved Mets are coming off a 7-3 West Coast trip, but couldn't secure a series win in San Francisco as they lost the back two after winning the first couple. Then we have the Oakland A's. A team that could flirt with the 1962 Mets record for futility. They have a stadium issue unlike any other. They are drawing flies, but there is some hope as the possibility of relocating could be in the works.

(50:09) The NFL will have their annual draft in Kansas City on Thursday. Is it possible that reports, rumors or news of Aaron Rodgers and Lamar Jackson seeking new destinations could swallow the festivities later this week?

(53:32) A highly anticipated match between Gervonta 'Tank' Davis & Ryan Garcia fell way short of the hype as Davis wins by KO in the 7th round. There's been talk about Davis being the "face of boxing". Is that accurate? Are there any contenders in his class that could threaten that?

Bruins Pressure? Leafs Heart. Wild West Leads NHL Playoff Headlines. Brooks Bravado, Draymond Suspension Highlights NBA. Tatis Jr. Return To MLB. Tua Mulled Retirement? The Fight To Save Boxing?

It's been an uneven, up and down week for the podcast, but you know I'm here to deliver by hook or by crook, all that's going on in sports. On deck:

(2:45) I'll get into how it has been a zany week for yours truly. Between releasing a podcast a day late, then getting a head cold that I'm fighting through on Tuesday. But that won't stop me from pumping out these podcasts on a bi-weekly and week to week basis.

(4:15) The first few days of the Stanley Cup Playoffs have delivered some juicy storylines. The lower seeds of the Western Conference all get a leg up on their respective series. The Islanders had a tough loss as they did not get a call in overtime, which led to a game winning goal by Carolina. Are the Bruins facing a little pressure after their Game 2 loss to Florida? Then you have the Maple Leafs. A very discouraging loss as they avoid another major letdown of not getting out of the first round in almost two decades.

(25:54) As for the NBA Playoffs, three series are pretty much afterthoughts as Denver, Philadelphia and Boston have commanding 2-0 series leads against Minnesota, Brooklyn and Atlanta, respectively. Memphis avoids an 0-2 deficit as they even the series vs. the Lakers last night. Can Dillon Brooks not say anything to "poke the bear"? Will the Clippers and Suns have length in their series? How will the Knicks and Cavaliers play out? Can the Bucks win without Giannis Antetokounmpo? The defending champion Warriors are down 0-2 vs. Sacramento. The big news was Draymond Green getting suspended for his actions stomping on the chest of Domantas Sabonis in Game 2. Was his act suspension worthy? Was it unfair?

(38:37) There is a big return of a player who'll be reintroduced tonight in the MLB. That is a one, Fernando Tatis Jr. After injuries and a PED suspension, he'll take the field in Arizona tonight for the first time since 2021. How will he be received in his own locker room? What are the expectations coming into a team made for a World Series run? Max Scherzer was ejected from a game vs. the Dodgers because of a sticky substance on his hand and glove. Was it warranted considering he was cooperating the whole time? Clayton Kershaw hit the 200 win plateau for his career as he beat the Mets on Tuesday night. I'll go around the diamond to see what else is happening as we get close to completing the first month of the baseball season.

(47:45) Dolphins QB Tua Tagovailoa recently addressed that he was mulling retirement due to the concussions he sustained last year in three separate games. How do you think the NFL's front office reacted to this?

(52:51) There's a big time boxing match that'll take place on Saturday night between Gervonta 'Tank' Davis vs. Ryan Garcia. Will these two fighters who have impeccable records (Davis 28-0, 26 KO's. Garcia 23-0, 19 KO's) live up to the hype that's been building up to this point?

Giannis & Ja's Injuries Highlight Competitive NBA Playoff Weekend. Bruins Dominance, Leafs Curse Headline Cup Playoffs. Rays Finally Lose, Gerrit Cole's Hot Start. Hurts Big Payday. Too Soon?

Your favorite little sports podcast host may not have arrived on time to start off the week, but you best believe, I'm always coming correct, direct and in full effect on all that's happening in sports. On deck:

(2:37) I'll explain the delay of what is originally Monday's podcast (being released on Tuesday this week instead)

(3:25) The NBA Playoffs have begun. It has been exciting to say the least with some big surprise road wins by the underdogs (i.e. Heat, Clippers and Knicks), a few key injuries that could impact the postseason (i.e. Giannis Antetokounmpo, Ja Morant & Tyler Herro) as I survey the opening weekend of the Association and where the week may take us as we get into Round 1.

(27:15) Hockey fans rejoice! The Stanley Cup Playoffs are here. I'll cover the three big storylines of this tournament (i.e. Can the Boston Bruins dominance continue to a Cup win? Will the Toronto Maple Leafs finally get over the first round series hump? And the West is as we've seen as a possible seven teams could be representative as a Cup finalist.) I'll break down all of the first round matchups with predictions and what we may expect over the next two weeks?

(46:16) The two big newsworthy items in the MLB are the Rays getting their 13 game winning streak out of the gate snapped in Toronto. Yankees ace Gerrit Cole is off to a torrid start at 4-0, but can we see this in October. Plus, some thoughts on the Mets winning in Oakland and the Dodgers are currently .500?

(51:20) Eagles QB Jalen Hurts is now the highest paid player in the NFL. He signed a five year, $255 million dollar contract after one MVP-like season. Was this too soon for the Eagle front office to fork over the big bucks? Do you need to see more? Also, Cardinals safety, Budda Baker is requesting a trade out of Arizona? Will it happen?

Road Teams Rule NBA Play-In. DEN, PHX & BOS: Top Storylines As Playoffs Begin Saturday. Islanders Secure Playoff Spot. Rays Roll To 12 Straight! When Will Streak End? Colts Should Keep #4 Pick

I'm geared up for some playoff action as this podcast will have plenty of that, as well as, what else is happening throughout the sports landscape as the latest episode is forthcoming. On deck:

(3:28) It's going to be warm in the Northeast over the next few days as we get a taste of summer here in April. The beauty of this month is getting ready for the two month journey of the playoffs in both the NHL & NBA. The play-in tournament in the Association has gotten off to a tremendous start with three of the four teams winning on the road. And the Lakers barely winning on their end as the only home team victorious over the first two nights. I'll discuss the four play-in tournament games. The disappointing losses in Toronto and New Orleans, including Zion Williamson being physically fine to play, but not psychologically ready to suit up. Will the Miami Heat get out of the tournament and make the playoffs? Can Oklahoma City's young guns win in Minnesota to go up against the Denver Nuggets? I'll have a complete first round preview and get into the storylines that will captivate the hoops fan as we tip off the postseason on Saturday.

(36:57) The Islanders avoided an embarrassing end to their regular season losing in Washington Monday night, which dropped them out of control of their playoff destiny. But thanks to the Blackhawks win in Pittsburgh Tuesday night, coupled with the Isles win over Montreal last night in their final game, they were able to secure a spot in the playoffs. Who will the Islanders face come Monday when the postseason commences? I'll also get into the division races in the Metropolitan, Central and Pacific as teams look for home ice advantage and march on to the Stanley Cup Playoffs as the pursuit to capture the greatest trophy in sports begins next week.

(47:14) The Rays stay torrid and undefeated as they're currently 12-0, with a chance to go 13-0 today in a getaway day game vs. Boston. If so, they would match the best start in MLB history with the 1982 Atlanta Braves & 1987 Milwaukee Brewers. Can they do it? And when will this streak end? Mets closer Edwin Diaz has visions of getting back to pitch before the end of this season. What do I think about that proclamation? An update on Pirates SS Oneil Cruz ankle as he fractured it in a collision over the weekend. When can we expect him to return?

(54:57) NFL fans, the Draft is two weeks away. I have a few news and notes throughout the league where the Colts may stay put with the #4 overall pick in the draft, instead of trading for QB Lamar Jackson. Dolphins wideout Tyreek Hill will retire after his contract is up in 2025. Could it be sooner than that? Lions trade former #3 overall pick Jeff Okudah to Atlanta. And Buccaneers LB, Devin White has requested a trade as he enters the final year of his rookie contract. Will the Bucs pull the trigger on a deal as the draft nears?

Rahm Rises, Koepka Falls In Bizarre Masters Weekend. T'Wolves Fighting & Limping Into Play-In. NHL Playoff Spots On The Line. Rays Start Legit? OBJ To BAL. Lamar Next?

A Master-ful podcast lies ahead as I've got plenty to share as the sports galaxy will continue to shine brightly as we get deeper into spring. On deck:

(3:13) The tradition unlike any other turned out to be a Masters unlike one we've seen in quite some time. Trees were falling, rain was teeming and having to play 30 holes on Sunday made this tournament unique, tough to watch at times and not as compelling as years past. Throughout it all, your winner was Jon Rahm as he outlasted a collapse by Brooks Koepka who led for the first three rounds as he secures his first ever green jacket. I'll review the past four days, Phil Mickelson's resurgence, Rory McIlroy's disappearance, how the LIV golfers fared over the weekend and much more as the first Grand Slam of 2023 is in the books.

(21:29) The NBA Playoffs are just about here. We have to get through the play-in tournament over the next four days first. Heading into that are the Minnesota Timberwolves, who have been fussin' and fightin' on the sidelines, players punching walls as they haven't matured since their last playoff visit a year ago. I'll touch on the four games that'll be played tomorrow and Wednesday night and shed some light on the full slate of games over the weekend to tip off the chase for the Lawrence O'Brien Trophy.

(36:41) The final few days of the NHL season has arrived. I'll go in-depth on all of the division and wild card races where my Islanders are in the thick of things, among other teams searching for a berth in the Stanley Cup Playoffs, which commences next Monday.

(48:24) Break up the Tampa Bay Rays. They've gotten off to a 9-0 start where they've dominated by outscoring their opponents 75-18, but they have played the Tigers, Nationals and A's. Is this a case of smoke and mirrors? Or is this start legit and a sign of more things to come. The Pirates have gotten off to a 6-3 start, which is great to see. Sadly, they lost their star shortstop O'Neil Cruz to a fractured ankle due to a collision at home plate. I'll also see what else MLB has to offer with teams playing well above expected (i.e. Brewers, Diamondbacks)and those playing below standards (i.e. Astros, Dodgers).

(55:08) Odell Beckham Jr. has found a home. He signed a one year deal in Baltimore to possibly join forces with Lamar Jackson, as he's seeking a trade and a megadeal. Could Jackson be lured back to the Ravens with OBJ on board? If so, does this run oriented offense need re-tooling with Beckham Jr. expected to be a huge part of their passing game?

PGA vs LIV, Mother Nature's Wrath Headlines The Masters. UConn Stands Tall, But Competition Small? NBA Does NOT Want This 1st Round Matchup! NHL's Panthers/Oilers Storm Into Playoffs?

The sports landscape gets a face lift as we usher in another major tournament in a legendary setting to go along with everything else that's happening as I deliver the latest podcast for the masses. On deck:

(2:51) A tradition unlike any other begins today as The Masters tees off with the first major Grand Slam tournament of 2023. Not only will there be some stiff competition from both the PGA & LIV Tour (don't worry, I'll get into that.), but Mother Nature will have a big say in all of this. The weather is expected to not only drop temperature-wise (Friday's high is 79. Saturday & Sunday? 53 & 57, respectively) but the chance of rain is ranging between 70-90% from Friday through Sunday. How will the elements be a factor? Will the tournament be completed on time? Could there be a final round on Monday? The dynamic of the PGA & LIV players going at it on this course for the very first time? Intriguing subplots abound as we'll see who'll come out on top and wear the Green Jacket come Sunday. Or Monday!

(19:07) The UConn Huskies cruise to a National Championship on Monday night as they defeat the upstart San Diego St. Aztecs. The Final Four didn't match up to what took place in the first two weekends of the tournament. Which leads to the question, was the competitive field weak overall, especially when all four #1 seeds were knocked out by the Elite Eight?

(25:48) It's coming down to this. The final few days of the NBA season as teams are jockeying for position to get themselves into the postseason. The Lakers had a chance to get out of the 7-10 seed for the play-in tournament, but lost to the Clippers who hold a slight lead ahead of them and would've had an opportunity to leapfrog over their crosstown rivals. If there is one matchup that could potentially happen in the first round that the Association DOES NOT want to see, it's Golden State vs. Phoenix. I'll explain why as I uncover all of the playoff possibilities for those who are hanging in, and some who are hanging on to see if they can qualify for the playoffs.

(34:56) Two teams that are surging in the NHL and their quest, not just for the Stanley Cup Playoffs, but for home ice throughout are the Florida Panthers (#1 seed in the Eastern Conference Wild Card race) and the Edmonton Oilers (who are one point behind Vegas for the top seed out West) I'll take a look at the Central Division race as it's a three team flat footed tie at the moment (Minnesota, Dallas and Colorado all have 98 points) and a wild card race in the West which may have the Calgary Flames (currently on the outside looking in) sneak in the back door to snag a playoff berth.

(49:02) We’re one week into the baseball season and the Mets are up to their old tricks. Do I have to get into this? I’ll discuss the good start that Tampa Bay has gotten off to, while the Phillies and Mariners have stumbled out of the gate. Angels 3B Anthony Rendon received a four game suspension for an altercation with a fan in Oakland. I was surprised by the outcome. Is Rendon being used as an example by the MLB?

SD St. Magic Carpet Ride/UConn Dominance Highlights Title Game. Caitlin Clark-Angel Reese Double Standard. Lakers Peaking Or Peaked? NHL's Furious Playoff Races. MLB's Opening Weekend, Over/Unders

Let us rejoice as we begin a big stretch with plenty of sports to divulge and dissect, this month and the foreseeable future. Here to deliver the first podcast of two this week as I get into all that's below.

(3:07) The National Championship Game in Men's college basketball is tonight as the upstart San Diego State Aztecs will go up against a dominant UConn Huskies team that hasn't broken out a sweat in the five games they've played to date. I'll review the Aztecs last second buzzer beating win, the pain of Florida Atlantic losing in the final second, UConn steamrolling through the to this point and Miami's poor play as they were outclassed on the big stage. Will the Aztecs magic carpet ride lead them to a title? Are the Huskies destined to run the table without the opposition posing a threat? I'll preview the Final as to who'll cut down the nets as champions of the sport. I'll also touch on what happened in the women's tournament as there was some controversy surrounding Iowa's Caitlin Clark. She's shown a lot of fire and swag up until her team lost in the final to LSU, but Most Outstanding Player Angel Reese gave Clark a taste of her own medicine by gesturing the "You Can't See Me" wave, was it right for Reese to do that? Or even Clark for that matter, earlier in the tournament? Is this a double standard? Was it classless for both of them to do this? You'll get a complete analysis of this scenario as it's caused a firestorm on social media over the past day.

(26:44) Don't look now, but here come the Lakers! Winners of 10 of 14, currently in the seventh seed out West and with a shot to go as high as six, are they peaking at the right time? How about the Timberwolves? They have been so erratic, that they lost to a tanking Blazers team AT HOME! As they try to position themselves for the play-in tournament next week. There's a jam at the bottom of the Western Conference bracket as Oklahoma City, Dallas and Minnesota are fighting for the final two spots to extend their respective seasons a week from tomorrow.

(39:21) The NHL season has eleven days to go with some intense division and wild card races coming down to the wire. We know the Bruins have won the President's Trophy, but are three wins and seven points from setting regular season records for wins and points overall. Out West, you have Minnesota, Colorado and Dallas separated by a point. (97, 96) in the Central. While Vegas, Los Angeles and Edmonton are divided by two points (101, 100, 99) in the Pacific. This is on top of what we're witnessing in both wild cards between the Islanders (as I'll share my thoughts on them), Penguins and Panthers in the East and Kraken, Jets, Flames and Predators in the West as it's coming down to the wire with just a week and a half to go.

(49:22) The first weekend is in the books when it comes to the MLB. Justin Verlander is on the IL for the Mets (are you shocked, Met fans?) I'll get into how quick some of these games have been due to the rule changes implemented before the start of the year. The Mariners lose three out of four at home (and pitcher Robbie Ray to the IL) vs. Cleveland to start their season. Kodai Senga's first start was a success for the Mets. How he's the wild card of their rotation with Verlander on the shelf? Angels 3B Anthony Rendon got involved in an altercation with a fan out in Oakland. Will there be a suspension handed down? Lastly, I forgot to mention my three over & three under win totals on Thursday's podcast so I apologize for not doing so at that time.

Rule Changes, Ohtani's Future & Usual Suspects Lead Into MLB's 2023 Preview. Final Four: An Encore? Or Dud? KD's Back/Celtics Big Week. Wild's Huge Road Win. Commander Sale Means No Deal For Lamar

Let's rejoice as a baseball season begins, a college basketball tournament is coming to a close and everything in between when it comes to sports as I got you covered on all that's happening. On deck:

(3:42) After a few words of hope springing eternal, another lap around the track for yours truly, the long awaited baseball season is here! I'll discuss the top three storylines (i.e. rule changes, Shohei Ohtani & the Usual Suspects...you'll have to listen in order to find out!)heading into the 2023 campaign, breaking down the divisions, my surprises and disappointments and my World Series prediction, which may raise an eyebrow as I get your ready for the marathon that is the MLB.

(50:30) The Final Four will take place on Saturday to determine who'll become champions in college basketball. Will there be an encore to what we've seen to date? Can UConn continue to dominate?

(54:34) In the Association, Kevin Durant is back in the fold as he played his first game at home in Phoenix. Is there enough time in the regular season for KD to get ready for the playoffs? Plus, a battle out West as the T'wolves and Lakers could potentially fight for a play-in home game. The Celtics have a big few days ahead as they'll play the Bucks tonight, then the Sixers on Tuesday as they try to inch closer to the #1 seed in the East and away from the #3 seed where the Sixers reside at the moment.

(57:15) The Minnesota Wild won a big game in the Central Division as they have a little breathing room by beating the Colorado Avalanche last night. The Rangers will face the Devils as they try to catch them in the Metropolitan Division for home ice in the first round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs. I'll look at the latest with the wild card races as well, where the Islanders have put a some distance ahead of the Penguins in the East.

(59:34) We have two groups bidding for the Washington Commanders as the estimated cost could be around six billion dollars. At the moment, this does not bode well for Lamar Jackson as he's searching for a new destination, with very few teams that he can go to. Could this be a Le'Veon Bell 2.0 situation? Will he sign the franchise offer by the Ravens?
