NBA's Heat: Team To Beat In East? Celtic Revival. Warriors Slipping. Coach K's Fuel For Madness? MLB Armageddon Getting Worse? Cards Kingsbury Extension Worthy? MMA's Covington One To Watch?
March has arrived, the sports world is finding their way during this 'Dead Zone', but you know your boy will have all of what the landscape has to offer as Episode #241 has plenty to get into. On deck:
(4:17) The NBA is about to hit the homestretch of their season. There is one team that hasn't been a surprise or have gone under the radar, but are the Miami Heat the team to beat in the Eastern Conference? I'll get into this Celtics revival in Boston. Are they a team to be reckoned with in the East? And the Warriors precipitous drop in the West. Is there cause for concern with the Dubs?
(27:18) It is Conference Championship Week in college basketball as Selection Sunday is just days away. The top story in the sport revolves around the final game coached by Duke's Mike Kryzyzewski at home in a loss versus archrival, North Carolina. Will this defeat fuel the Blue Devils to a long tournament run? Or will they fizzle out as Coach K will soon ride off into the sunset as one of the greatest coaches ever in the history of sports?
(38:05) MLB's Armageddon continues to wreak havoc as the first six games of the regular season are toast. The players have nixed the owner's proposal as of last week. Now, the players have come back to the table to engage on trying to settle an agreement so that baseball doesn't lose anymore games. Will the owners agree? Will there be a target as to when the season begins? I'll get into all that's taken place over the last week and up to today as the sport, as well as, who's to blame for this mess as it looks to get out from the rubble in hopes of salvaging an early beginning to the 2022 season. There was a shocking development that took place in Miami as Derek Jeter stepped down as CEO and surrendered his shares of the Marlins franchise. How will this impact the state of the organization? What will Jeter do next?
(54:17) Alexander Ovechkin inches closer to third all time of goals scored in the NHL. And just when you think the season is approaching the end of their regular season, think again?
(56:11) If you're expecting a few words on the NFL Scouting Combine, you'll have to look elsewhere. But I will share some thoughts on the Cardinals re-signing coach Kliff Kingsbury to an extension. Was he deserving to receive such an honor?
(58:56) Colby Covington wins a grudge match against his old friend Jorge Masvidal in convincing fashion. Is Covington a guy to keep our eyes on moving forward?
(1:00:29) Before I close out, I'll share a future programming note about which direction the podcast will go as you'll get TWICE of yours truly weekly starting next month on April 7th.
(1:02:50) To wrap up, my Hero and Zero of the Week.
