We discuss his childhood and love for sports back in his native home of Texas. How he furiously rehabbed from Tommy John surgery and the risk of coming back well before he was expected to pitch in games that mattered. We also get into his big league debut, which he shares in great detail. His 2016 All-Star experience in San Diego, being traded to the Mets (and his love for the city and its fans) the ‘spirit’ of the late Jose Fernandez and a whole lot more.

I have a full smorgasbord of sports to whet your appetite on this weeks edition of The JAYREELZ Podcast. We’re now down to two. The Final Four was overcome with controversy as the Auburn Tigers was thisclose to making their first trip to the Championship Game. Was it a foul? Should have it been called? I’ll be sure to delve into those final 0.6 seconds vs. Virginia which changed the trajectory of the Final Four, Texas Tech’s mild upset over Michigan State and a preview of what lies ahead for tonights’ winner take all matchup. The NBA is about to embark on another postseason, but there are still a couple of games to be played. The Brooklyn Nets have punched their ticket to the playoffs, but their seed isn’t set in stone. I’ll get into both races in the East and West as the bottom of the playoff seedings in each conference have yet to be determined. On the other hand, the NHL playoffs are set. The Islanders will host the first round since 1984 against the battle tested Penguins. What are their chances to move onto the next round? Who is the biggest X-factor of this series? It may not be who you think, so you’ll have to listen to find out. I’ll also reveal the main headlines leading the chase for Lord Stanley’s Cup, with the Tampa Bay Lightning at the forefront of being one of the all time great teams with a potential championship in their sight. There’s some baseball to talk about. Not just the week that was for the Mets and Yankees, but the Orioles Chris Davis’s plight, the cold Cubs & Red Sox and the white hot Mariners, Dodgers and Mike Trout’s torrid HR streak. Plus, the Jets new uniform reveal, Antonio Brown is in the news again and the Masters are just days away. Chock full of sports talk to fill your headphones on this weeks episode of The JAYREELZ Podcast. (Episode 63)

NCAA's Final Four, Duke's Luck Runs Out, Mets/Yanks/Bryce, MLB Opening Weekend, Nets & Isles Playoff Push, Kristaps Assault, NFL Pass Interference Rule

The BEST sports month of the year has begun. And that’s NO April Fool, on the latest edition of The JAYREELZ Podcast. The Final Four of the NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament is set. I’ll recap the teams who’ve made it to Minneapolis that have set themselves up to make it to the title game. Plus, I’ll review Duke’s lucky run to the Regional Final that ended in being upset AND with the prospects of Zion Williamson expected to declare himself for the NBA Draft. Or not? The MLB season is underway as I discuss the opening weekend for the Mets, Yankees and Bryce Harper, whose contract is already paying dividends to the Philly faithful. I’ll also check in on the Nets and Islanders as they’re in hot pursuit of the playoffs. The Isles are in. The Nets control their own destiny, but there are teams waiting to leapfrog them as we’re into the final ten days of the NBA season. You’ll hear my thoughts on if the Nets will make it and why it’s important for them to qualify for the postseason this year! I'll also get into the allegations of former NY Knicks forward, Kristaps Porzingis of sexual assault. I’ll get into the pass interference rule that’s been implemented for the NFL this year. Will it be successful? Can it be successful? We’ll have to wait and find out, but I have an opinion on this that you won’t want to miss.
